I've had loads of cramps, not as bad as they were at 4 weeks, I'm 5 now and still getting them

i feel like no one tells you about this. All you ever hear about is morning sickness etc and obviously heavy bleeding is bad but no one ever mentions symptoms that are totally normal but would cause you to worry

Doesnt look good news for me ladies, bleeding turned to a dark red this morning and my back pain is intense. I've just put a pad in and going to check again within the hour before I ring 111 xxx

Hope you all have wonderful safe pregnancies xxxx

Sorry to hear this, sending hugs. It's so hard.

Synergy94 · 21/04/2024 14:21

Ladies, I just wanted to check if there’s anything else I should be doing right now? I’ve self referred to my local midwifery team and am taking my daily vitamin. Sorry if the question sounds silly, but this is all so new to me!

Hello ladies, im new to the thread - can’t quite believe I’ve made it over from the Ttc thread to be honest still.
im so sorry to read your message @Sheth86. Sending positive thoughts and prayers to you.

im currently sat in ‘same day urgent care’ waiting for my blood results as I have high TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) which can cause early loss and development problems if untreated. So hoping to sort this out asap.
im 4 weeks today (v early I know) and getting cramps on and off, is that normal, is anyone else having cramps ? Feels so weird like a period is going to come. First pregnancy and just cant relax😂 only found out Friday

I got cramps on and off the first few weeks with my first. I didn’t think I was pregnant because and kept waiting for my period to start. I got a BFN 13dpo and was waiting and decided to random test.

I rang EPU and they said someone will call me tomorrow morning when open but in meantime if i get heavy bleeding I'm to go to A&E. Bleeding had calmed down so just a waiting game now and taking it easy today xxx

Glad the bleeding has eased. Seems like an age when you’re waiting but just try to take it easy. Bleeding is scary but all can still be ok xx

Sheth86 · 21/04/2024 16:01

Good news ladies. I went to the EPU unit and they did a scan. There was a heart beat :)

UnicornPrincessSarah · 21/04/2024 16:02

@Sheth86 Thats excellent news, did they say how far along you were?

6 weeks and 2 days! Heart beat was strong. They said its normal to bleed and only need to worry if it ends up like period type bleed xx I'm not to do any heavy lifting or anything for least a week xx I'm glad I now know as I felt like this weekend my life has been on pause because of the worry xx

Sheth86 · 21/04/2024 16:09

I think I might be due in December but I'm honestly not sure because of irregular periods and being over 2 years of trying I'd given up on ever getting a positive.

The morning sickness and sore boobs are the only things reminding me this is not just all in my head at this point. I can't wait to get an appointment and get a better idea of how far along I am.

I think the midwives with contact you about appointments, you just need to make sure you are booked in for your dating scan before 20 weeks, so if time is getting on and you've not heard anything don't be afraid to nudge

RedRobyn2021 · 21/04/2024 16:21

Have you tried doing a clearblue with the weeks? That might help pinpoint it a bit better x

I thought about it, but based on my own notes I'm definitely most likely over 3 weeks more like 5-6, and the two tests I took were blazing red lines of no doubt after a week or 2 of symptoms and realising my period was much later than it's usual lateness. Because of those 2 points I felt I couldn't justify the price of the clear blue test.

I also have type 1 diabetes so I'll be seeing my team next week but as for the actual midwife side of things I've self referred on Friday and now I wait to hear back.

Molly4689 · 21/04/2024 16:52

That's lovely news @Sheth86 glad you got seen today. Bleeding is so worrying but really common in healthy pregnancy's too - I have to keep reminding myself of that. Hope you're feeling ok.

Thank you ladies :) you girls have been the best support today xx

UnicornPrincessSarah · 21/04/2024 17:27

@Sheth86 Yes apparently bleeding can be quite common and sometimes can happen because of sex too, not that I have had sex (lost my sex drive and not done anything since 14th March) but it mentioned it when I did some research

Yeah I've been told not to have sex for least a week but that won't be an issue as dad lives like 5 hours away and I won't be seeing him for couple of weeks xxx

RosePombear · 21/04/2024 17:46

@ChocolateLemons yeah it was definitely a big surprise!

@UnicornPrincessSarah thank you! Now we’ve got over the initial shock it definitely is a blessing.

@catmumma84 cramps were my only early symptom with my DD, it’s really common but as you said it isn’t talked about as much as sore boobs/nausea etc.

@Sheth86 wonderful news and lovely pic!
