Glad I’m not the only one with a blocked nose. I was going up the stairs at work sounded like I dying with the heavy breathing.

Lunamoon23 · 18/04/2024 22:24

Hello!! Been recommended to join this group by another mama to be!

I'm currently just under 5 weeks pregnant, and my expected due date is December 21st!!!

It's my first pregnancy, we were trying for 10 months and it surprisingly happened in the cycle I least expected! Full of anxiety but also super excited!!

I'm 31, 32 in August, DH is 32, 33 on the 29th of this month! Live in Devon 😊

RedRobyn2021 · 19/04/2024 07:10

Welcome @Lunamoon23 !

How are you feeling?

Lunamoon23 · 19/04/2024 07:48

Thank you @RedRobyn2021 !!!

I have good and bad days, yesterday I felt great. Today I've woken up with really intense back ache and aches in my legs, sore boobs and really tired! Thankfully no morning sickness as of yet or nausea.

How are you? How far along are you? X

This is almost an identical story to us, have been trying for a while and the month we didn’t try, I’ve got my first ever positive! First baby for us too and also based in the south west 😊

sludgefactory · 19/04/2024 11:26

Cautiously joining after getting a positive test after our first IUI treatment (TTC for 2.5 years, got pregnant once naturally but we had to terminate that pregnancy for medical reasons at 14 weeks).
Due date is 18th December and the first scan with our consultant who did our IUI treatment on 1st May. Hoping for a heartbeat 🌈

Lauren0506 · 19/04/2024 12:27

@Molly4689 oh bless you hun! They found a fibroid on my scan yesterday, she didn’t seem to concerned about it though but still always comes with risk of miscarriage. Let me know how today goes :-) xx

RedRobyn2021 · 19/04/2024 12:28

@Lunamoon23 I'm the same as you almost 5 weeks, due 20th December

I've had loads of cramps, which I don't remember getting with my daughter. I've also had a bit of sore boobs, but that's it so far. I had HG with my daughter so I have my medication ready but haven't started taking it yet. I'm not sure whether to take it preventatively or whether to wait until I start feeling sick.

Do you have any other children?

RedRobyn2021 · 19/04/2024 12:29

Sorry @Lunamoon23 just remembered you said this is your first

Are you feeling excited? We are already talking about names 😂

RedRobyn2021 · 19/04/2024 12:31

Is anyone else thinking of having a Homebirth?

I had my daughter at home and it was a really good experience (despite my having a very small house, we still borrowed a birthing pool), I'm planning to do the same again

starryx · 19/04/2024 12:38

Nausea but no morning sickness yet, 5+2 ladies. Is this normal? Sorry to ask but this is my 1st

Bailem · 19/04/2024 13:12

@starryx Yes really normal. I'm in my 7th week and already noticed my nausea has improved this week, I struggled more last week and from 5 weeks x

Bailem · 19/04/2024 13:13

@starryx should add, I haven't been sick but felt like a hangover stomach/motion sickness.

Molly4689 · 19/04/2024 13:25

@lauren0506 Scan went well, baby with a heart beat dating right on what I thought. Couldn't find a reason for the bleed but I already know I had an ectropion that bled in my last pregnancy and hasn't gone away so I presume it's that!

Lauren0506 · 19/04/2024 13:28

@Molly4689 ah so happy for you, lovely seeing a tiny heartbeat, isn’t it. I got videos and all sorts was really good, I kept getting pains so I worried about eptopic but she said it’s in a good place and a lovely fast heartbeat, my dates changed slightly from the 6th to the 12th December. Happy for you :-) xx

Molly4689 · 19/04/2024 13:32

@Lauren0506 aww thanks, it is they were so quite for ages as the machine was playing up so it was a relief to see one! That's lovely you got a video. My due date will also be the 12th December! Although I'll probably have a c section as I did last time so imagine they'll be here at 39 weeks :) x

Lauren0506 · 19/04/2024 13:37

@Molly4689 oh I bet it was, first thing I checked for was twins 🤣. She said I can only see one at the minute lol but warned they can hide behind. Lol. Ah bless you, my son was born at 38+2 so I don’t think il be full term this time either, I also have extra scans as he was just under the centile scaling and was classed as small for gestational age, So il he suprised if I reach full term again. How exciting! Well for sure we will be having our xmas Dinner put it that way 🤣 x

@starryx should add, I haven't been sick but felt like a hangover stomach/motion sickness.

Ooo that comforts me :)) thank you x

RedRobyn2021 · 19/04/2024 14:26

@starryx I think it's normal, I know with my daughter my sickness didn't start until week 6

Lauren0506 · 19/04/2024 15:05

@RedRobyn2021 Me too! I’m a week ahead of you, and I’m exactly the same. I’m tempting fate this time though, had lots of boys names and 1 girls with my son ( as I was adamant he was a girl) so now Iv lots of girls names and 1 boys 😉. Xx

RedRobyn2021 · 19/04/2024 15:08

@Lauren0506 I'm finding my partner so difficult with boys names, I feel like he's a lot more opinionated than me. I've suggested perfectly nice names like Arthur or Oscar and he doesn't even think before saying no.

Meanwhile girls names are so much easier, there are sooo many lovely ones ♥️

Iamnotalemming · 19/04/2024 15:13

Just popping on to say hi. I'm now 6.5 weeks approx. I have a very strong marmite craving. The Internet tells me it has folic acid, who knew?
Also much more tired. As soon as toddler is in bed I sit on sofa and BAM immediately asleep. I remember the same last time, so hopefully this is a good sign that all is progressing well. Am planning an early scan around 8 weeks. I've only known I was pregnant for about a week now and it's beginning to sink in. Am excited but also trying not to get my hopes up. It's tough.

Lunamoon23 · 19/04/2024 16:46

@Synergy94 aww congratulations!! How far along are you? It's funny how things work isn't it. Months I was stressing, that month I was unwell and counted myself out as only did the deed the once during my fertile window, and bam - pregnant!

@RedRobyn2021 aww, our expected due date is a day apart! Yeah this is my first 😊 I'm off on a cruise for two weeks next Sunday and praying the morning sickness doesn't kick in then! I've had quite bad back ache today! Going to have a long soak in the bath tonight and an early night! So many things you aren't allowed to use during pregnancy too! Was hoping radium B would be allowed but nope! If morning sickness arrives, any tips or tricks to help ease? X
