When did your nausea end?

I am now 12+4 and desperately waiting for the nausea to end. Is there hope in sight?

I've tried cyclizine, prochloroperazine and metocclopramide but didn't really feel like any worked, in fact the last one made me worse. Also the drowsiness made all of them difficult.

I really was hoping for a magic change at 12 weeks!

For me it was about 22-25 weeks it gradually got better. I was on prochlorperazine and ondansetron and still not great, but I managed to wean myself off just after Christmas (I'm now 38 weeks) and have been fine since. Sorry that's probably not what you wanted to hear at 12 weeks, I remember how miserable it was. Hope things settle quicker for you 🤞

SnapdragonToadflax · 24/03/2024 06:52

Mine went around 19 weeks, although it did start to improve from around 14. I'm sorry for you, it's horrible and debilitating.

I will say, it came back towards the end (around 35 weeks) although not as bad.

Rainbowpeanut02 · 24/03/2024 06:53

For me it was around 17 weeks.

SquashPenguin · 24/03/2024 06:54

Between 14 and 15 weeks. I still get the odd wave of nausea now at almost 32 weeks, but nothing like it was.

mrssunshinexxx · 24/03/2024 07:00

14 weeks

firstpregnancy1 · 24/03/2024 07:01

16-20 weeks roughly and very gradually and didn't disappear entirely. Coughing too hard/sneezing/teethbrushing could all randomly trigger it right until the end

RobynC28 · 24/03/2024 07:05

@Foxtrotbeta I was just googling this and thinking about starting a thread. 12+2 still feel awful - sounds like we've got a way to go. I thought the nausea would magically dissappear around this point... I'm in bed retching, eating dry crackers!

muddlingthrou · 24/03/2024 07:17

16 weeks my last pregnancy. Currently 7+3 with my second and wishing the time away!

Yes I can't brush my teeth either! Concerned about the state of my teeth after pregnancy with all the vomitting!

Not until I gave birth.

Milsandmyls · 24/03/2024 07:33

For my first pregnancy I think about 14-16 weeks. My current pregnancy I was in hospital on a drip at 20 weeks with HG, since then it hasn’t been too bad but from about 30 weeks I’ve had the odd day of vomiting. I hope it eases off for you soon as it can be debilitating at times. Also try and get ondansetron. It was the only one that really helped and my mw said it’s the best one for sickness.

CMG92 · 24/03/2024 08:14

I feel for you Op I’m currently 23weeks and only started feeling myself these last 2-3weeks. I had hyperemesis and I’m still on cyclazine but I can’t tell you how nice it feels to wake up and want to get out of bed and not feel like total rubbish. I still get moments in the evening but I thought like you 12weeks I should be fine, and actually I got worse from 14-19weeks and ended up off work and not moving off the sofa!
wishing you all the best hold on in there it will get better ❤️

Lou1984 · 24/03/2024 08:15

The worst of it by 14 weeks and then manageable amount until 16/17 weeks. Hopefully you’re on the home stretch 🤞

missmoosh · 24/03/2024 08:19

Hyperemesis suffer but I found from around 19/20 weeks I stopped throwing up every day, still do a few times a week but it's a lot more manageable now at 22+1. I will say that I'm starting to get more nausea now though but without actually being sick, which I can't decide if I find worse!

Not until I gave birth.

Same for me! Entire pregnancy felt sick, ran out of foods I could stomach. As soon as I’d given birth and the spinal wore off my first thought was ‘I don’t feel sick anymore!’

mondaytosunday · 24/03/2024 08:33

Uh hate to say this it never did! Low level nausea all the way through, with awful indigestion added as baby got bigger.

Lillers · 24/03/2024 08:40

I’m just coming up to 14 weeks, had been on cyclizine but thought I’d be ok without now so stopped taking it on Friday. Yesterday I felt really nauseous all day and I’ve just spent the morning throwing up, so definitely not better yet. I actually hadn’t realised how much the medication was helping until now because I was still sick on it sometimes, but yeah, calling the GP tomorrow to get some more!

My sister said she started feeling better at 12 weeks with both of hers, and my mum said she felt like this for her whole pregnancies, so who knows what way I’ll go 🤷‍♀️

UnravellingTheWorld · 24/03/2024 08:41

18-20 weeks for me 😬

Yes and I was desperate for a bacon sandwich. For nine months the faintest whiff of a bacon sandwich had me heaving.

ceruleansky · 24/03/2024 09:07

Started at week 11, ended at week 14-15. But I've always had GERD, acidity so that definitely ramped up. Week 21 and I still can't deviate even a bit from my food routine.. not even an extra Boba or something..

Rosesanddaisies1 · 24/03/2024 10:28

Mine reduced from week 11 onwards

muddlingthrou · 24/03/2024 10:51

I'd be interested to know when it peaked for people too. Last time I remember it getting worse and worse right up until week 14 then lifting at week 16. I feel like it's started earlier and is worse this pregnancy, so who knows 😔

Bali200 · 24/03/2024 10:51

I posted asking the same thing at 13 weeks as I started feeling worse, not better. Mine peaked weeks 12-16 but it gradually disappeared after 16 weeks. Hang on in there x

merryandbrightdelight · 24/03/2024 10:53

For me with my first it was around week 14 it stopped, then came back again at week 16 for a week then went completely. I was never sick, just really nauseous, and was prescribed mediation but didn't take it. I found sleeping whenever I felt sick helped, and used to snack on savoury foods and ginger I had a small window of not feeling sick. Hope it passes soon for you op, it's not fun!
