When did your nausea end?

I am now 12+4 and desperately waiting for the nausea to end. Is there hope in sight?

I've tried cyclizine, prochloroperazine and metocclopramide but didn't really feel like any worked, in fact the last one made me worse. Also the drowsiness made all of them difficult.

I really was hoping for a magic change at 12 weeks!

Had really bad nausea and vomiting in the evenings until I was 18 weeks, I tried cyclizine but it just made me drowsy and nothing else. The nausea has come back again (but mildly) at 28 weeks, and only with dinners that don’t agree with me.

@Foxtrotbeta I really think for most people it is 12/13 weeks, when the placenta takes over. It's the worst feeling and I completely emphasise with wanting to turn a corner. It is so likely in sight for you! Hang in there!

WeightoftheWorld · 24/03/2024 13:42

About 20 weeks in both my pregnancies I was pretty much better but I had HG both times so I'd say it was another 4 weeks or so until it had all completely resolved and I felt like myself again.

DramaAlpaca · 24/03/2024 13:55

In all three of my pregnancies it finally stopped at 20 weeks. Horrible, it was. Permanent nausea and daily vomiting. Urrgh.

AnonymousXXIX · 24/03/2024 16:31

First pregnancy 16-17 weeks, second pregnancy 18-19 weeks (but still have ongoing triggers at 23 weeks). Never vomitted or took meds. Peaked around 9 weeks both times.

DandelionPockets · 24/03/2024 16:48

About 14 weeks and then came back a bit right at the end.

SabbaticalPleasure · 24/03/2024 16:50

I think around the time the placenta was delivered, alas...

Mammma91 · 24/03/2024 16:56

Around 22 weeks for me. Now 38, hope it’s sooner for you. I survived on ice drinks, ice lollies and crackers.

Floralnomad · 24/03/2024 17:03

With both of mine I was vomiting up to and including delivery , I found you got used to it after a while . With the second I did have a few weeks in the middle where it improved a lot .

S72 · 24/03/2024 17:06

It didn't end for me until I gave birth. It was really challenging.

fungipie · 24/03/2024 17:06

Has any of you tried those acupressure anti-nausea bracelets (with a little ball that presses on the key point on lower arm)?

glasshalffull0 · 24/03/2024 17:25

The general nauseous feeling faded around week 13 and was gone at week 16 however I still had aversions when eating food, particularly in the evening, that made me feel sick and it took until very recently, about week 24/25, for that to almost completely go

When I gave birth

cheddarsandtoast · 24/03/2024 17:30

Significantly better around 12-13 weeks and completely gone by 16. Suffer from hyperemesis and had to be hospitalised 3 times in early pregnancy but I’m lucky that mine does go.

I used these from weeks 5-11. In the early days I felt like they helped take the edge of the nausea, but I don’t think they did much after about week 8. I was just scared to take them off in case they’d been stopping me from being even more sick which was why I kept wearing them until week 11 when I went onto medication, which actually did help.

Foxtrotbeta · 24/03/2024 18:20

I have no idea how people have more children after going through this! I knew people felt ill in pregnancy, but I was so naive. I can cope with vomitting and I almost welcome it because once I've been sick I escape the nausea for half an hour. But 8 weeks of nausea now is getting me down, and I feel very low. Thanks to everyone who's shared their experiences and tips.

Not until 5 months. I lost 2 stone and felt absolutely awful. I couldn't drink because it made me feel sick.

SarahB88 · 24/03/2024 20:25

Was on anti sickness tablets until 14 weeks I think it was. Started to feel a bit more normal around 18/19 weeks. Have had a few days where I’ve physically been sick since then. 32 weeks and the nausea is back but not been sick yet.

allfurcoatnoknickers · 24/03/2024 20:52

The whole pregnancy the first time and until about week 24 the second time. Had to take Zofran for pretty much all of both pregnancies just to stay functional though.

Sorry OP. It's rubbish.

CheeryBiscuit · 26/03/2024 07:21

HG from 5-19 weeks. None of the medications worked so I just had to have 3 months off work. I'm 23 weeks now and have felt better since 19 weeks, but I'm still sick every morning and some evenings and have reflux/heartburn symptoms constantly. You do get used to it though and I've accepted I'll probably just feel like this until baby comes now - I've given up waiting for the pregnancy glow to arrive 🥴

Poppetshop · 26/03/2024 07:30

Mine disappeared about 20 weeks for 2-3 weeks and has been back since 23 weeks but not as bad. It was completely debilitating until about 17 weeks and I had to be signed off work sick.

Hope you feel better soon!

Xur · 26/03/2024 13:24

Week 12 I was quite nauseated still. Week 13 I had it one day per week and week 14 I had it aswell one day per week, both last two weeks had 6 days in between. From week 15 I’ve had no nausea at all.

TTC53 · 26/03/2024 18:40

Sorry to say mine was vomiting until 30 weeks and then nausea until birth. Hope yours eases soon

Foxtrotbeta · 22/04/2024 19:33

I thought I'd come back and update for anyone who reads this thread in future.
My sickness peaked at 15 weeks, vomitting was suddenly much worse and I ended up in hospital twice for fluids and IV anti-sickness. The hospital gave me Ondansatron to take in combination with cyclizine and I got the vomitting under control but still felt very nauseous.
I am now at 17 weeks and think maybe finally staring to feel a bit better, I'll be trying without the Ondansetron this week and see how I go.

Not until I gave birth.

This. It was lovely to not feel sick again
