Anyone else tested super early and due December 2024? This is my 2nd pregnancy after a mmc 2 days after my 12 week scan in December and actual miscarriage in January.

Hoping this will be the 1 that sticks and is healthy. Think my due date is Dec 3rd

Had my whooping cough and flu vaccines yesterday and my god I feel AWFUL!! Anyone else feel terrible after or is it just a double whammy of two vaccines at once?

Had teh whooping cough at 16 weeks, no ill effects, had the flu yesterday and have a large round red sensitive / sore patch in that arm, bit otherwise OK. Had covid today in the other arm, so far so good. Week 30 now.

I noticed no difference with the whooping cough, haven't had the flu one but Dr Google says it can make you feel unwell for a few days x

Does anyone else get occasional dull period-like cramps?

Any other second time mums feel so disorganised this time around? I’m pretty sure by this stage with my first I was getting my hospital bag packed already!

It’s so hard finding the time to prepare when working full time and looking after a toddler!
I’m going off work early this time though, so hopefully then I will have more time in my day to be able to get everything sorted (when DS1 isn’t under foot!). I’m itching to have a good declutter of the house.

I’m totally unprepared. I do have 10 weeks left though, so I think I still have time but we should probably pull our fingers out a bit and start treating the weeks, like weeks, and not like months 😂

Half of our baby bits are at our parents, so we need to collect bits from various locations, sort a second car seat, clean the pram bassinet etc.

I keep thinking “we’ll do that in a few months time in November” and forget that November is a week away! 😳

I had covid and flu together, whooping cough and RSV separately. No ill effects from whooping cough & RSV ones. The night of flu/covid jab (about 8 hours later) I woke up absolutely freezing and shaking, put my dressing gown on and managed to get back to sleep, woke up in the morning completely fine thankfully! Was convinced I was going to be poorly for a day or two.

You're def not alone, poor baby no2 has had nothing so far lol.

Hospital bag hasn't even crossed my mind until now 😂 feel like this time I'll just chuck a few pairs of clean undies and a few babygros in a bag on my way out the door 😂 had an actual suitcase last time 🤣🤣

I’ve the same attitude with the hospital bag. Bumped into someone I know from baby classes, but not seen her since being pregnant, and she asked how long I have left to go. I said Christmas and she was like “ummm, that’s really not that far away! Have you sorted hospital bags etc”. And that’s the first time it’s crossed my mind to think about that stuff.

I think I had started ordering bits by this point last time, so maybe should think about what to include in there.

I had my flu and RSV yesterday. Felt like shit today. Head feels heavy, feel all achy, snotty, headache, arms are sore (both). My midwife did warn me I may feel like that, the nurse that gave it to me said I wouldn't as it isn't a live virus and apparently it's all a placebo but, I defo feel rough 😂 x

HelterSkelter224 · 22/10/2024 21:52

Ugh @Lunamoon23 exactly the same here 😭 hopefully we'll feel better in the morning 💝

Here's hoping. Although I'm in bed now and still feeling just as rough. Also feel like I can't clear my throat, so don't know if a sore throat is incoming too 🙄 but at least that is the last of the vaccines done now! X

LilyJessie · 22/10/2024 23:08

What would the second time mum's recommend for a hospital bag?

Firsttimetrier · 23/10/2024 00:05

@LilyJessie definitely newborn size clothes and not just 0-3m. We nearly made that mistake assuming 0-3m would fit, but absolutely drowned him until he was maybe 3m old!

I had an emergency c-section last time and the Freida disposable high waisted boxers were a godsend. Maternity pads also were much needed as you still bleed a far bit with a section. Some snacks, your own pillow, headphones, eye mask, pjs that you can unbutton/pull up for breastfeeding and the bottoms can sit high enough in case you do have a section.

LilyJessie · 23/10/2024 08:04

@Firsttimetrier thank you so much!! 😊

Lunamoon23 · 23/10/2024 11:13

@HelterSkelter224 how you feeling today? I'm feeling pretty rough. 😅

Still rough!! Feel it's a combo of vaccine and my daughter bringing germs back from nursery 😭 sorry you're feeling crappy too

I second this, my daughter was late and still 0-3 was enormous

Lunamoon23 · 23/10/2024 13:02

@HelterSkelter224 I'm thinking the same, two colleagues were ill last week so think I've caught that and the vaccines ontop. 😅 Hope you feel better soon!

Has anyone started batch cooking yet?
I've made chilli and bolognese so far. Making a beef stew next week. Then going to do a lasagne and cottage pie too.

HelterSkelter224 · 23/10/2024 13:14

@Lunamoon23 not yet re batch cooking, I really need to clear space in the freezer but it was an absolute lifesaver last time. A friend of ours also bought us instead of a baby gift a voucher for just eat which honestly was one of our most appreciated gifts.

Will make the staples: beef / lamb stew, chicken casserole, loads of soups, bolognese, lasagne, chicken and ham pie (the sauce and add pastry on top), curries. I batch cook for the week every weekend so I'm going to start portioning off and freezing some of the stuff I'm making.

No I've been so lazy 😭

Lunamoon23 · 23/10/2024 14:26

@HelterSkelter224 that is a great idea from your friend!
I've done a shopping list(delivery) & meal prep ready but I've only done enough for 12 days. Easy meals for DH to cook or defrost and reheat.

Then we'll be ontop of Christmas and I've booked my Christmas delivery slot too, but we're out at families alot over Christmas/new year so we tend to only have easy picky dinners inbetween. Then hopefully come new year I'll be back to feeling ok enough to cook as normal. I would batch for a longer period but like you, just don't have the space.

And @RedRobyn2021 you've still got time! It is hard finding the motivation inbetween everything else xxxx

RedRobyn2021 · 23/10/2024 17:04

I have such unpleasant acid, I got this last time as well and it's just the worst. I can't even tell what triggers it, it just seems to be anything and everything

OnNaturesCourse · 23/10/2024 20:48

@RedRobyn2021 have you tried Tums? I have the extra strength ones. It's the only thing that's touched my reflux and indigestion. Even omeprazole didn't help.

@RedRobyn2021 I had that to the point it was making me wake in the night choking on it, and also to vomit. Even just leaning forwards was awful. I kept thinking it would get better and put up with it for weeks before asking the GP - prescribed me some tablets and it’s immediately gone! Wish I hadn’t waited so long now

RedRobyn2021 · 23/10/2024 20:55

@HopefulElle I'm sorry that is awful, what did the GP give you?

No, I've just been taking some from Sainsbury's

Do you get tums from Amazon?

Bluesea14 · 23/10/2024 21:35

Can anyone remind me how you view your fundal height? Is it on the my pregnancy notes website? X
