Anyone else tested super early and due December 2024? This is my 2nd pregnancy after a mmc 2 days after my 12 week scan in December and actual miscarriage in January.

Hoping this will be the 1 that sticks and is healthy. Think my due date is Dec 3rd

@Synergy94

I'm not bothering with long sleeve this time personally, I found them a pain to fit under the sleepsuits and they would ride up

OnNaturesCourse · 20/10/2024 18:18

I'll use the long sleeve ones at night under sleepsuits as my house is old and draughty.

Orelinde · 20/10/2024 22:02

Has anyone got a birthing ball? Are they useful/worth getting?

HelterSkelter224 · 21/10/2024 01:12

@Synergy94 I'm also not bothering with long-sleeved body suits as they are a pain to get the sleeves of bodysuits over the top. The most important is to keep the chest / torso warm and toasty (second winter baby). Maybe buy a few and see how you go.

I have one, and do a weekly pilates class with it. I like it, and sitting on it helps to relieve my sore back (presumably as my hips are higher than my knees when on it).

I just got one, no idea if it'll help yet. I hope so.
I am not enjoying this trimester 🤣
The back pain is REAL.
And if one more person tells me to get the sleep in before she comes.........

Honestly I can't wait until she comes to get some sleep cos I am getting no sleep right now!!! Between feeling like a beached whale every time I turn, hip and shoulder pain from lying on my side, fighting with my pregnancy pillow, waking up to pee then being unable to get back to sleep for hours on end, I got more sleep with my newborn last time than in the third trimester. At least when I did get snatches of sleep it was actual sleep and I could get comfy in my bed, not the sort of semi dosing uncomfortable-ness that I'm getting right now. I think people forget that!!

Sorry. Very grouchy after another terrible night's sleep 😂😭

LilyJessie · 21/10/2024 13:19

@HelterSkelter224
I feel you! I'm so over it 🤣
My shoulder, hip, back are all in pain no matter what I do.
Pregnancy pillow used to really help, but mama the whale over here is certainly not feeling it's benefit anymore.
I'm gonna get one of those pelvic band things. My midwife recommended it today. So definitely going to do this!!

Oh yea I've been thinking of getting one of those. Didn't need one last time but my stomach muscles aren't what they were before baby no1! So over this pregnancy lol

CatCaretaker · 21/10/2024 16:13

Anyone else have rib pain? Mostly on right side, very occasionally on left. I've had it for months now (it's definitely rib, not upper abdomen). It was bearable up until a week or two ago, and now it's just constant and I feel like I have to bend right over backwards to get any relief from it, even in bed. Hospital physio says it's rib flare.

RedRobyn2021 · 21/10/2024 16:21

@HelterSkelter224 how far along are you? Sounds like you're having a tough time Flowers

Lunamoon23 · 21/10/2024 16:52

@HelterSkelter224 I feel you!! I've got 7 weeks left to go and I'm over it 😂
I'm up at least 7 times in the night to pee. I've got sciatica in my lower back which goes into my right leg so after I've been lying or sitting for a while I physically can't walk for a minute or two, so every time I have to get up to pee it's a whole 15-20 minutes. Getti no very broken sleep and still being up at 6 everyday and working full time where I'm on my feet 😂🙄 feel like a walking zombie. Plus baby is breech, he's been breech the whole duration of the pregnancy to this date, which is making my lower abdomen quiet uncomfortable, plus being kicked in the ribs because his legs are up near his head 😂😂

I always feel bad complaining, because pregnancy is a blessing, of course. And in hindsight I've had a very "easy" pregnancy in terms of having no sickness. But between the sciatica and peeing and acid reflux, I'm done 😂 not long to go though!!

RedRobyn2021 · 21/10/2024 17:58

@Lunamoon23 I don't think you shouldn't feel bad complaining, pregnancy and birth is hard work

Getting up 7 times a night is enough to drive anyone up the wall, you're doing beautifully

It took me 9 months and one early loss to get pregnant, I really really wanted a baby and I'm still complaining. I view pregnancy as a gift that I am giving my family

Lunamoon23 · 21/10/2024 18:01

@RedRobyn2021 I think the guilt comes from having a friend who had an extremely difficult pregnancy, and ultimately birthed baby very early, and then lost it.
So in my mind, I feel guilt voicing my complaints. Considering how 'lucky' I've been throughout my pregnancy. But I totally get what you are saying. 🤍 xxxx

RedRobyn2021 · 21/10/2024 18:03

@Lunamoon23 your poor friend, that is terrible. No wonder you feel that way.

HelterSkelter224 · 21/10/2024 20:14

@Lunamoon23 don't feel bad, pregnancy is tough. I know more than many how much a blessing pregnancy is having gone through 10 failed rounds of IVF and had several losses over the span of a decade. Having a baby at all was beyond the realms of possibility and I know how lucky I am, watching my daughter grow up reminds me of that every day.

But there's no getting away from the fact that pregnancy is HARD. It takes such a toll on your body, your physical and mental health and once baby is born you have a new identity, and it changes your life immeasurably.

Of course it's all worth it or we wouldn't put ourselves through what we do to have the privilege of bringing life into the world and being a parent to these little humans.

Doesn't mean we can't have a wee grumble from time to time ☺️

You're very right. I'm also so sorry you've had such an ordeal to get pregnant and do pleased for you to be able to experience it again ❤️

Any other second time mums feel so disorganised this time around? I’m pretty sure by this stage with my first I was getting my hospital bag packed already!

It’s so hard finding the time to prepare when working full time and looking after a toddler!
I’m going off work early this time though, so hopefully then I will have more time in my day to be able to get everything sorted (when DS1 isn’t under foot!). I’m itching to have a good declutter of the house.

First time round I know I didn't put up the cot until 34 weeks, bouncer at 36, practice run with the birth pool at 37 weeks. My daughter didn't come until almost 42 weeks 🙈 I had a feeling all along she'd be late, but I didn't think she'd be that late.

This time round I'm doing the cot, car seat etc at 35/36 weeks. I've got most of the clothes except vests but I haven't washed anything and haven't gone through my daughter's bits yet. But I feel like this baby will be earlier, perhaps that's wishful thinking.

I know what you mean though I sometimes feel overwhelmed that everything won't be ready in time but then I remind myself that she just needs some clean clothes, nappies and somewhere to sleep! Other bits can be done after worst case

I'm most looking forward to cleaning all the clothes

MaybeBaby2024 · 22/10/2024 11:45

@RedRobyn2021 glad I’m not alone lol. DS1 came early and took me by surprise so I’m worried that could happen again and I won’t be ready!

Yes you’ve reminded me I need to pull out all his newborn clothes and sort through what I can use again.

HelterSkelter224 · 22/10/2024 12:16

Had my whooping cough and flu vaccines yesterday and my god I feel AWFUL!! Anyone else feel terrible after or is it just a double whammy of two vaccines at once?

You're def not alone, poor baby no2 has had nothing so far lol.

Hospital bag hasn't even crossed my mind until now 😂 feel like this time I'll just chuck a few pairs of clean undies and a few babygros in a bag on my way out the door 😂 had an actual suitcase last time 🤣🤣

MaybeBaby2024 · 22/10/2024 12:41

@HelterSkelter224 yes I had a full suitcase last time too 🙈 lol. But I did end up needing to use most of the stuff in it because they kept me in for 3 days. Hopefully that won’t be the case this time!

HelterSkelter224 · 22/10/2024 12:55

@MaybeBaby2024 same actually I was in for a week but I'm determined that won't happen this time! 🤞
