Anyone else tested super early and due December 2024? This is my 2nd pregnancy after a mmc 2 days after my 12 week scan in December and actual miscarriage in January.

Hoping this will be the 1 that sticks and is healthy. Think my due date is Dec 3rd

@Lunamoon23 yes that's sensible, don't tell people the names because you'll always get someone saying they don't like it. I think sometimes children grow into their names and there are very few names that aren't nice.

We're having another girl, my 3yo has suggested some names herself, some are nice like Ella or Enid but other suggestions have been Peanut or Courgette 😂 she keeps whispering them in my ear which adds to the hilarity

Lunamoon23 · 16/09/2024 21:52

@RedRobyn2021 I think aslong as the parents like the name, that's really all that matters. And our family all like our choices too.

Hahaha peanut, that's what I call baby now 😂 but courgette love that haha! Do you know at what stage I might expect to start seeing stretch marks? I've been oiling bump everyday since I was like 12 weeks, aswell as my boobs and back and hips. Thankfully non yet. But know I've still got lots of growing to do! X

OnNaturesCourse · 16/09/2024 22:01

Hey everyone.

Popping back on here after a while off not being so well. Having issues with reflux and upper stomach pain, suspected GERD or, personally think it's, a hiatus hernia. I'm either in pain, hungry or feeling super sick, it's not been fun.

Regarding water retention I've not had much but had felt my feet and ankles stiff after a long day so have taken to wearing compression socks. They have worked wonders so far, I definitely recommend!

This baby has been crazy with his kicks and movements. I've felt him since about 17 weeks and could see him from around 20 but now at 26 my whole bump moves with his jabs. I have a anterior placenta too so it's really unusual and he must be kicking super hard in there. My last scan at 25 weeks did show him rolling around and kicking at where they were pressing lol.

Names... We can't agree on anything. There have been a few I liked but wasn't in love with but DH isn't keen. DH. DH can't find any he likes. We too like really unusual names that aren't heard often. I also don't like names that can be shortened, all my DCs have names that can't be shortened or lengthened.

Edging towards the last trimester now, hoping you are all keeping well.

HopefulElle · 16/09/2024 22:17

@RedRobyn2021 ooh good idea, I tried on some ultra mini Uggs the other day, well, I tried to but couldn’t squeeze my foot in and thought I was going to be sick from leaning forwards too long! Some Ugg style ones might be better for now and have a bit more give in them; or if I have to size up temporarily at least they won’t be as expensive!
I can also see kicks from the outside, so exciting.
@Lunamoon23 we haven’t decided on names yet but I definitely wouldn’t tell people if I had! Hard enough to agree between me and Emmy husband without other people’s judgements thrown in too!

CatCaretaker · 17/09/2024 06:46

@Lunamoon23 oh I don't mind at all, I'm enjoying it 😊. The only irritating comment I've had was from someone telling me I was ridiculous for cutting down on caffeine.

Molly4689 · 17/09/2024 10:04

Names have been tough for us too, I'm surprised we managed to name our first based on how naming this baby is going! We compared lists recently and there was a variation of one name that we both had but actually think neither of us would choose as it's very popular (top 10). No other cross over at all!

I don't keep our potential names quiet though as I quite like reading people's reactions, I do always say we haven't and won't decide until they're here though!

I didn't get stretch marks until about 38 weeks with my daughter, they came right at the end. I think a lot of it is genetics. If you do get them please try not to give yourself a hard time, after my daughter was born my tummy looked like a crumpled up fabric bag, but it looks much better now, even with the stretch marks. Also, tbh, I don't even care or think about it much, at the time I was upset and felt out of control as they started appearing.

CatCaretaker · 17/09/2024 14:13

I've got stretch marks on the left boob only (not the right one!), but none on stomach at 24 weeks. Left boob marks appeared a few weeks ago, maybe week 20? I don't mind them at all, hopefully they're a sign that that boob at least is doing what it needs to for BF.

Over the last 2 days I've got an odd sensation just below my right lung / diaphragm. If I slouch at all I can feel ... I don't know what, a weird sensation there, like blood pumping or something. Has my liver / stomach / uterus migrated up that far that there is some physical interaction between my diaphragm and some organ, that I can ... physically feel? It's a really odd feeling, and very hard to describe.

Lunamoon23 · 17/09/2024 16:17

@RedRobyn2021 I've heard they often appear right at the end.
My mum was super lucky and never got any with nether me or my sister, except some really tiny ones on her inner thigh right near her groin, which you never see, my nan never got any ether. And to this point in my life I've never had any.
I think with this being my first it's something I'm anxious about, I think when you're already contending with your body changing so much already which is such a strange feeling.. but I completely understand if it's something that happens it is what it is and it's for the most worthwhile cause!

LilyJessie · 17/09/2024 21:09

I have been able to see her kick from outside which is fascinating!

I have stretch marks on my boobs! I always have done, but they're definitely new quite big ones. I imagine I'll be covered by the end of this!

I keep getting cramp in my legs and it's so painful!! Anyone else?

OnNaturesCourse · 17/09/2024 23:57

For stretch marks I highly recommend Secret Saviours support bands/bras/leggings and creams.

I have a LOT of stretch marks on my inner thighs from puberty, and a few on my bum and lower back. My siblings, including brothers, have stretch marks from this time in their lives too. My Mum has them and has them quite badly on her tummy and chest from pregnancies.

By the time I fell pregnant with my first my stretch marks were really faded and, vainly, I didn't want to get more or make them worse again so I looked into help and found Secret Saviours.

This is my 4th pregnancy and I have only got two small stretch marks on my lower tummy and they were never red and angry looking. I didn't actually notice them until after birth (got them both with my 2nd) This time round one of the stretch marks is spreading a bit but again there's no redness to it so I suspect it's just the old mark looking bigger if that makes sense.

Expensive but highly recommended!

Lunamoon23 · 18/09/2024 07:50

@LilyJessie I had a leg cramp in the middle of the night last week, it was horrendous. I was flying around the bed trying to get it to stop and for days after I struggled to walk on that leg it bruised the muscle so badly. Since I haven't had any yet 🤞🏼 now before I go to sleep when in bed, I make sure to stretch my legs out as much as possible. Just simply by keeping my legs straight and bringing my toes forward towards my shins, I can feel it stretching out my calf muscles. I've also added a little extra salt to my diet and make sure I'm drinking plently. I also have a magnesium salt bath at least once a week.
Xxxxx

Lunamoon23 · 18/09/2024 07:53

@OnNaturesCourse thank you ! I'll certainly have a look into that! I also don't think it's vain at all, we are allowed to be protective of the skin we're in, just as we'd remove make up before going to sleep to unclog our pores and reduce spots.. there is nothing wrong with wanting to help minimise lifetime effects of pregnancy that show on our bodies, even if it is for the most worthwhile cause. ❤️ xxxxx

Orelinde · 18/09/2024 08:36

I haven’t got stretch marks yet at 27 weeks but I’m going to try Bio Oil (on sale at Boots yesterday!) on advice of pals.

I’m occasionally getting leg cramps but they’re not too bad, they usually go away on stretching. It’s not sleeping for 2-3 hours each night that’s getting me down! I’m v comfy just AWAKE!! My usual standby of a pleasant, not too interesting audiobook isn’t cutting it these days :S

LilyJessie · 18/09/2024 13:45

@Lunamoon23 Yep this is me! I'm hobbling around!

I have been popping bio oil on!

Oh my the no sleep is real. I think I have a decent sleep once a week? But it's an epic sleep all the same!!!

Lunamoon23 · 18/09/2024 16:06

@Orelinde I've been using the burts bees mama stretch mark oil religiously since about 15 weeks, so hoping that'll do the trick. I've also got a bottle of the my little coco belly oil I've been saving till towards the end when I'm really stretching 😂

@LilyJessie thankfully, I've on the whole been sleeping really well, normally takes me about 20 minutes to get off to sleep but then I sleep soundly, except when I'm woken with terrible acid reflux. It wakes me because it's literally making its way up my throat and I think I'm going to throw up.. thankfully my GP has just prescribed me some tablets I have to take everyday which reduces the amount to acid in your stomach so I'm hoping it'll subside. As gaviscon and rennies weren't doing the trick!

HopefulElle · 18/09/2024 16:15

@Lunamoon23 I have exactly the same with the acid reflux at night! I have been sick from it a couple of times.

It's awful isn't it ! Have you been given anything for it? Xxxxx

HopefulElle · 18/09/2024 17:17

@Lunamoon23 yes horrible! I haven't, it’s only happened over the last week & was hoping it would stop itself, haven’t called GP yet. Hope it helps for you!

I've had it for a fair few weeks now, it'll be better for a couple of days and then comes back again. My GP has prescribed me this, said it's safe to use in pregnancy and is very effective. So if you find it keeps happening, be sure to ask your GP for some! Xxxx

Yes my mum didn't get them either, which made me feel worse at the time tbh because I thought I was out of the woods.

Some women get them after baby is born apparently.

It is so hard the first time particularly contending with your body changing, the whole experience is a massive shift, I was reading a book called Matresence by Lucy Jones (definitely one for post partum) and our brain literally changes after having a child

RedRobyn2021 · 19/09/2024 05:09

On sleep, I am in a similar boat

Normally I sleep really well, but this pregnancy I will sometimes wake for hours in the night

Or like this morning, after a tiring day travelling yesterday I'm on holiday but I'm the first one up. It's 6am here (5am in the U.K.) and I've been up since 5. My 3yo and 82yo grandmother are all still asleep, it's definitely the pregnancy

CatCaretaker · 19/09/2024 05:31

Yes, I've started waking in the small hours just this week. No particular reason that I can find, I'm not in pain or thirsty or need to pee, I'm just suddenly wide awake at 4:30am this morning. Only 24 weeks.

I'm only 26 weeks, it must be hormones or something. It's one thing I don't remember happening when I was pregnant with my first 😔

OnNaturesCourse · 19/09/2024 17:57

I had weeks of being awake 3 - 5am every single night. It went on for about 4 weeks. Thankfully it seems to have eased up around 25 weeks.

Anyone else suffering with tiredness and general "don't have the energy for anything" most afternoons/evenings?
