Anyone else tested super early and due December 2024? This is my 2nd pregnancy after a mmc 2 days after my 12 week scan in December and actual miscarriage in January.

Hoping this will be the 1 that sticks and is healthy. Think my due date is Dec 3rd

Just wanted to pop by and update :

20 week scan today - confirmed boy 💙 which we'd long predicated!
Baby boy is very healthy and happy.
My placenta in lying low - so I've got another scan at 32 weeks to check and again at 36 weeks. If it doesn't move it means a C-section but that was my birth choice anyway so totally fine with that - just does make it a riskier procedure but not worrying about any of that just yet.

Had the appointment with the consultant regarding the elective c section - I was so worked up about it hearing other peoples experience but it was absolutely fine! No objections, wasn't scare mongering at all, totally accepted my decision with no probing or pushing. He was great. Not booked in yet but will be at 32 week scan.

Had the whooping cough vaccine today too - all ok, arm slightly dead but barely noticeable. Xxxxx

Congratulations @Lunamoon23 💙

@Lunamoon23
So many congratulations 💙

Ladies, can anyone suggest some good maternity leggings (UK). Where you can buy your usual size but they'll stretch with you, offer good support and are comfortable and not see through! Struggling to find a decent pair and I hate maternity jeans! X

Bought a few pairs from Frugi on sale that are quite decent!

I find the Seraphine leggings extremely comfortable and were pretty well priced too. They're washing well and look good. They're quite thin, so working well in the summer months but think they might need laying with something else in winter (or under dresses etc.).

Lunamoon23 · 05/08/2024 16:30

Thanks ladies - I'll take a look! X

Orelinde · 06/08/2024 08:25

Morning all,
I had a positive and lovely 20 week scan yesterday, all very exciting!

I've been advised to start aspirin, but when I got home, I read the leaflet in the box and it’s very clear not to take them during pregnancy.

Does anyone know - is that pretty standard advice for aspirin, so it’s ok as I’ve been specifically advised to take it? Or have I bought “the wrong kind of aspirin” and there’s some pregnancy-safe stuff somewhere?

HelterSkelter224 · 06/08/2024 13:52

Hi @Orelinde congratulations on your scan! I have taken 150mg aspirin throughout both my pregnancies due to low Papp-a to support the function of my placenta. It's fine to take as long as you have been prescribed, it's quite common to be asked to take aspirin during pregnancy. They might ask you to stop taking it about 36w. My doctor gives me dispersible aspirin which I hate so I just by the 75mg tablets you can buy in supermarkets / chemists etc.

RedRobyn2021 · 07/08/2024 18:37

Is anyone else feeling there baby move quite a lot?

I've felt movement from 14 weeks, now 20 weeks and I can feel them moving throughout the day. I don't remember being able to feel my daughter this much

CatCaretaker · 07/08/2024 22:54

Nope, 19 weeks and haven't felt movement yet.

Bluesea14 · 08/08/2024 11:08

19 weeks with a posteria placent and I think I've felt quite a bit of movement this week. I say think because I can't tell if it's movement or gas? It feels like giant bubbles popping in my belly X

LilyJessie · 08/08/2024 12:15

Not masses, here and there I do.
I believe from second babies you feel more earlier 😊

Had a positive scan this week, lovely to see her. Didn't get a good pic though as she wouldn't sit still! Managed to get a foot pic though which is super cute!! 🥰

Lorelaigilless · 09/08/2024 10:42

20 weeks and only just properly feeling movement now, and I have a posterior placenta. My doctor said no concerns unless don’t feel anything by 22

CatCaretaker · 09/08/2024 13:04

CatCaretaker · 07/08/2024 22:54

Nope, 19 weeks and haven't felt movement yet.

The consultant said that the placenta is positioned such that I probably won't feel anything until a bit later, so I assume that that means I have an anterior placenta, I didn't clarify at the time. Also, first baby, if that makes any difference.

GammaTheGecko · 10/08/2024 08:15

21+4 today and I've been feeling a lot of movement at regular times of day (kicks approx 6 times a day for 10-30 mins at a time) over the last week after being worried about not feeling any movement at 20 weeks, and even seeing the kicks if I look at my stomach at the right time (this is my first so it was jaw-dropping the first time I saw her kick!). Hang in there to those that are waiting!!

What helped me recognise the kicks was during my 20 week scan, every time I saw the baby move I could feel it and I realised that I'd been feeling it for a few days but just didn't recognise it without seeing her move at the same time. If you've not had your 20 week yet then maybe seeing your baby move will be a good test to know if you are actually feeling it at the same time :) I was lucky that I was scanned by a trainee so I was able to watch my little one for 1 hour 20 mins!

Lunamoon23 · 11/08/2024 21:16

I'm 22 weeks tomorrow and feel baba everyday now! He's a proper wriggly bean. My midwives have told me that since my 12 week scan, but didn't start to feel until two days after my 20 week scan, he's mostly active in the evenings, usually starts around dinner time and then continues right up until I go sleep on and off.. I love it. My mums felt him and DH has now too.

Also ladies, anyone got extreme hunger now in the 2nd trimester. I feel like a bottomless pit. Just constantly hungry and never full. I could eat and eat and eat...
I've definitely gained some weight. I've noticed it mostly in my face, legs and upper arms.
I keep saying thank god my job has me on my feet all day walking 10,000 steps most days! If I had a desk job I think I'd be a whale come December 😂

LilyJessie · 12/08/2024 21:48

I'm. So. Hot.

GammaTheGecko · 13/08/2024 08:32

@Lunamoon23 I'm also constantly hungry, and I work a desk job 😭 I just make sure I pack loads of things like tomatoes, grapes, blueberries, bananas etc to snack on until it's finally lunch time, but usually the less healthy snacks creep in in the afternoon. Same as you, I'm gaining weight in my face, arms and legs! I'm going to have to start trying to do more exercise but it's so hard after working all day, and I'm struggling to find any prenatal pilates/yoga classes near me that aren't during my working hours (8-4)

It's so hard isn't it - I'm pretty good during the day, I find it's after my evening meals I'm like a bottomless pit 😂😂 and that's when the crappy food sneaks in, wanting sweets and chocolate or cake!

I haven't been weighed since my 12 week scan so I'm going to make sure I ask my midwife at my next appointment to weigh me. Maybe the shock I need 😂
I keep telling myself, you have to gain weight your growing a life but then the other side of me is yelling at me 'but remember you have to loose this weight after!'
It's difficult watching your body change so quickly though..

I forgot to add the weights also gone on my ass 😂😂

CatCaretaker · 13/08/2024 18:06

I'm also constantly hungry, it seems to hit harder after I've just eaten, which I don't get at all 😂. I'm just making sure to eat 3 good meals (plus some random healthy / not so healthy snacks) a day and hope that that's enough!

I'm a bit concerned that being constantly hungry means baby isn't getting enough, but consultant said she looked fine at last scan, right on track, so hopefully everything is OK! They didn't measure my weight, so I guess that's not something they're too concerned about at this stage (I haven't put on any weight yet).

Lunamoon23 · 13/08/2024 21:18

@CatCaretaker that is exactly the same as me, once I eat, it's like it opens a void I just can't fill. 😂😂

Orelinde · 15/08/2024 07:55

Hello! My little bean is wriggling away when I’m sat down for 10-20 mins, especially after eating, and I can sometimes see my stomach flicker! V exciting.
My pregnancy pillow arrived yesterday and after one night I am completely in love - soooo comfy! I went for the more expensive bbhug me pregnancy/nursing pillow on all the rave reviews and I think it’s going to be fantastic! If you’re thinking about it, I massively recommend it.

HopefulElle · 15/08/2024 17:22

@Orelinde same here on both points! Love the wriggles and kicks. I’m glad it’s cooled down a bit as I did find it too hot to use the bbhugme last week but I LOVE it! I have to get up earlier than my husband and he always steals it when I do 😂
