Anyone else tested super early and due December 2024? This is my 2nd pregnancy after a mmc 2 days after my 12 week scan in December and actual miscarriage in January.

Hoping this will be the 1 that sticks and is healthy. Think my due date is Dec 3rd

Anybody else wake in the morning with back ache? It's started to become a constant everyday thing now and I'm only 15 weeks along.. it's usually right in the middle of my back, where my kids are and at the lower back mainly on the right side.

Is that for your gender scan? No mine was booked for 20 weeks xxx

It’s the anatomy scan to check the wellbeing of the baby. They can also tell you the sex of the baby if baby is in a suitable position.

Mine is booked for 19+6 but I think anything from 18 onward is meant to be fin

Oh that's annoying, if I knew I could have heard it I would have asked! Maybe they don't realise it's an important/significant moment for us to hear it for the first time... Hopefully I can ask at my 20 week scan then :) Thanks for letting me know

To be honest she looked quite confused when I asked to hear it. Like you I thought it was the norm to hear it at the 12 week scan. No worries x

RedRobyn2021 · 26/06/2024 16:33

Anyone have giant sore boobs? Anything that touches my nipples is cringeworthy

@Lunamoon23 I really hope you feel better soon, that is awful for you. Are you having other symptoms or has it been fairly mild?

Lunamoon23 · 26/06/2024 17:12

@RedRobyn2021 besides tiredness I've been lucky in that it's the only symptoms I've started to get, thankfully after being up and about for an hour is subsides but it wakes me every morning at the moment which is annoying when your already exhausted. How are you feeling? X

@Harveybelle I'm going to guess girl

RedRobyn2021 · 27/06/2024 18:51

Does anyone think they might have felt baby move?

On occasion the last few days I've felt like a slight pulsating, almost like a fluttering, it lasts maybe 2 seconds but surely it's too early I'm only 14+5

LilyJessie · 28/06/2024 12:47

@RedRobyn2021
When I lay down at night I thought I did! But then I think it's just me being excited and wanting too!!

Orelinde · 28/06/2024 16:00

Hi everyone,
I'm a bit worried about my weight gain - I've put on between 7-8kgs over the pregnancy and I'm worried that's too much (I'm 5ft 6" and was just over 63kgs/ 10 stone when I got pregnant) - is anyone else seeing lots of weight gain quite quickly? I walk the dog for an hour 3-4 days a week and have an hour's weight training every week, so I'm active but not constantly...
@RedRobyn2021 I think I did yesterday at 15+2! It was very fleeting and felt a little like a tummy rumble when you're bloated, but I wasn't! Probably wishful thinking, but I was listening to some very cheerful upbeat music, so maybe Baby liked it?!

Lunamoon23 · 28/06/2024 16:29

@Orelinde yes myself. I started at (7weeks) 52kg and when I went for my 12 week scan (although turned out to be 13weeks+4) I was up to 61kg. It shocked me and I was feeling very frumpy.
I'm usually a size 6-8 and I've had to say goodbye to my size6's and my size 8's are getting tighter. However during the first trimester I was craving everything junk! Sweets, crisps, McDonald's and I did over indulge, thankfully now in the 2nd trimester it's calmed right down and I mostly snack on fruit and I brought myself skinny bars for my sweet fix. I'm quite active, work on my feet everyday, but I have to keep reminding myself I'm also growing a human.
It can be really tough watching your body change before you and it feels completely out of your control. Is this your first baby? How far along are you? Be kind to yourself Xxx

Lunamoon23 · 28/06/2024 16:30

@RedRobyn2021 I haven't felt anything yet - but definitely feeling the round ligament pains more and more recently.. but no baby movements yet which amazes me after seeing it do cartwheels in there during my scan hahaha.

CatCaretaker · 28/06/2024 20:29

No movement yet, I'm on 13+4, but also no weight gain! I started out approx. 61kg, and now I'm about 62kg, after dropping to 57kg a few weeks ago when I couldn't even look at most food. Now I'm worried! I wasn't at all before. Should I be putting on more weight?

Lunamoon23 · 28/06/2024 22:03

@CatCaretaker I really wouldn't worry, you midwife will tell you if your gaining too much or not enough weight throughout your pregnancy, there really isn't any right or wrong and many women loose weight in the first trimester due to morning sickness - I was lucky and had no sickness or nausea xxx

CatCaretaker · 28/06/2024 22:16

I guess so, but I won't be seeing anyone again for about a month. Hoping I'll start seeing some weight go on soon.

LilyJessie · 28/06/2024 23:29

@CatCaretaker
Please don't worry at all, my friend lost weight during her first trimester both times and has two beautiful healthy babies.
Xxx

RedRobyn2021 · 29/06/2024 20:45

Have been feeling very insecure about how I look, I've definitely gained weight and I was already over a stone heavier than at the start of my last pregnancy.

Just need to keep reminding myself that I went back to my original weight 9month pp without any effort just from breastfeeding. But I do remember how heavy my body felt the last few weeks and how uncomfortable I was, I feel quite anxious at the thought of doing that again with an extra stone or more

I'm 2 days off 16 weeks and definitely showing now, I think I noticed a proper bump about a week ago... It's not very big, not to the point that strangers would think "she's definitely pregnant" but my friends, family, partner and I can definitely tell! Exciting isn't it :)

Also ladies, noticed this hadn't really been touched upon yet in this chat and wondered if any of you had started thinking about your birth plan. In particular, any of you planning to have a ELCS? This is my chosen path (I have my reasons, happy to delve into them if asked but won't drone on if not) and just wondering if any other women going down the same path I can communicate with throughout this journey xxxx

I haven't thought about this at all, probably partly out of fear because this is my first (making a plan means it's really happening!!!) and also because there are so many options/is so much information out there that I'm overwhelmed and don't know what to start looking at! I'd be very interested to hear other people's decisions and their reasoning (including yours if you have time to explain - if people aren't interested they can just scroll past!) TIA for any info from anyone :)

Wise0wl · 30/06/2024 22:14

@Lunamoon23 I’m having an ELCS. Is this your first child? For me, @GammaTheGecko I’ve previously had an EMCS, and given my history there’s a small concern about going into post-dates and uterine rupture after an ELCS. Plus a driving factor is for mental health given a history of pregnancy loss. Control is something I really value 😊

Lunamoon23 · 01/07/2024 09:17

@Wise0wl yes this is my first!

@GammaTheGecko this is also my first ! So my reasons are I'm petrified! I actually delayed having a baby for a couple years longer than I'd liked because of my fear of childbirth, I believe the medical term is tokophobia.
I've always had a deep rooted fear of hospitals (childhood trauma), I hate being in them, I hate needles, the thought of medical intervention puts the fear of life into me.. I will avoid a hospital at every possible chance. (Even when previously I probably should of gone in for something or other)
So for me, a vaginal childbirth and all the unknowns that come with it, and the possibility of it ending in an emergency c section would send me into shock. Whereas with a planned one, I'll know exactly what's happening, what day, what comes next and I've heard it's so much calmer. Of course I'm aware things could still happen during but I think going into it, mentally it'd be a lot better for me. X

Hi, I am ☺️ My first I laboured and she got stuck so I had an emergency c section. Surprisingly was a positive experience, and even though I have been told I’d be fine to try labour again, I’ve opted for ELCS xxx
