“Confirmed” nub theories

Guys, despite starting this pregnancy saying I would keep it a surprise, I’m now DYING to know what we’re having (and it’ll be confirmed within the next week) so naturally I’m looking up nub theories and comparing them to my scan 🤪 however, I’m finding on SO MANY mumsnet threads that aren’t updated and have left people hanging. SOOO. I thought, if anyone wanted to, would you share your 12-14 week scans which show a nub, and what the confirmed gender was?

Hopefully this’ll help anyone in future too who was doing some research and noseying like myself 🤣

For reference, this is my scan (13+2) and I’m told it’s a fairly girly nub, however, no confirmation yet. When I get the NIPT back I’ll update it!

From the nub theory mine showed girl ( 12 weeks) , I was sure I was having another boy. Had it confirmed at 20 weeks, definitely a girl. I'm still shocked! 😂

There's a Facebook group who correctly guessed my scan, nub theory queens or something like that. This is my baby who has since been confirmed boy

Eeek! How exciting! I’ll be honest, originally I thought it was totally rubbish, until I actually started looking into it and seeing confirmed genders vs their scans. I’m getting really into it! Although when I find unconfirmed mumsnet threads, I feel like I’m on a cliff hanger 😂

Yeah, that’s why I put “confirmed” because you’re right, it’s not until birth where we can be 10000% positive 🤣 hope everything goes well with your pregnancy!

@Cloudyapple93 that was at 12+3 I think! Yours looks like it has a forked nub, according to the nubologists they have an equal amount of boy and girl forked nubs so I wouldn't take that as indicator. Yours could be stacked which is a boy. You could send it to the nubologist/nub whisperer?

Yep! You’re so right, and I thought the same. Sometimes I don’t even understand the stacking. Is it where it’s stacked “above” the line, whereas girl had lines “below”?

I just don’t know, but I’ll be back here to confirm what we’re having when we know. Should be within the next week. Hopefully this thread will help someone in future too 🤣

I did send to the Nubologists and they said 90% girl. Also all Facebook groups I’ve posted on said girl, and I posted on about 5. One differed by saying “leaning girl” so, I could have a nub theory prodigy if we discover it’s s boy 😋

@Cloudyapple93 stacked means a longer line on the bottom with a shorter line parallel on top (top line becomes the penis) either straight or point up. Girls are usually two equal length parallel lines angled down towards spine

Ooooo @Flopsy145 so, essentially, mine are neither? Or have I misunderstood?. Very in the middle now 😂 I only have boy names that I like -and am desperate to use so a boy would very much be a treat 😂

@Cloudyapple93 yes pretty much, could go either way 😂 my friends looked definitely like a girl nub was pointing down, but confirmed boy now 😂when do you find out I'm really invested now?

@Flopsy145 We’re still awaiting our NIPT results, so I guess any time from Wednesday. I’ll let you know as soon as I get them!

No idea if you can see the nub in this scan but it was DD2. She’s 3 now. I’ve looked at my DS’s 12w scans and I don’t think you can see a nub. He’s been confirmed a boy at multiple scans since.

Mine was 90% likely a boy from nubologists, now a 2 year old boy. I think he was fairly obvious with his nub.

@Cloudyapple93 you are absolutely having a girl there’s no way that’s a boy!!!

I don’t think there is any denying mine is a boy! We’ve seen multiple times and several sonographers have pointed out his testicles. 😂
