Hi all,

I've just found out I'm pregnant and due Nov. I've found Mumsnet so helpful during conception so wanted to start a thread on pregnancy if anyone wanted to join. I'm feeling VERY tired, I've had cold feet (literally) and jelly legs today. I had very heavy implantation bleeding last time (which ended in loss about 4 weeks later) and none of that so far so hoping that's a positive sign. Have the strangest feeling already that it's a boy. How's everyone else doing? Xxx

Morning all. Not great news from my scan. They could see two sacs but nothing in them, so I could be earlier than my LMP shows or it could be that it’s not progressing. I’ve had blood tests and will go from there. Feeling rather deflated and sad.

Morning all,
My sickness is a lot better today after starting on promethazine hydrochloride yesterday. Had a shortbread biscuit this morning which feels like a massive win 😂 DP is away on a stag do this weekend so I was worried I’d be feeling sorry for myself all weekend but fingers crossed we’ve turned a corner now!

y0rkier0se · 21/03/2024 10:00

Sorry to hear that @waryandbored, did they say how long until you get your blood test results? Fingers crossed for you x

I'm sorry to hear this. Have they given you a plan of action? Will you be rescanned in a few days to see if there's any change? Sending you love.

Results tomorrow and then they will make a plan. Maybe more bloods on Saturday and maybe another scan next week. There’s a chance it’s ectopic but probably not. They’re treating it as a pregnancy of unknown location at the moment 😔

What a stressful situation @waryandbored. I hope you've got someone looking after you. If you want to talk things through please just message me. I'm on the facebook group. I only use the app for mumsnet, so I've no idea on how to reply to direct messages on here.

Thank you ❤️ I’m back at work now so my mind is a bit frazzled! Hoping for good news but expecting the worst. My partner is the opposite - he’s focused on the fact that there are 2 sacs!

Hi everyone sorry to hear about the scan news, I bet you are going out of your mind with worry. Its such a strange time. Try and stay positive a lot can happen in a matter of days and scans can be totally different! Keeping everything crossed for you.
I contacted my EPU the other day who said I could come in for an early scan after my loss in January. Scan is on Monday and I'll be 6 weeks. Can anyone share if they've had a positive experience on a scan by then? Will I hopefully see a heartbeat? I'm worried I'll get there and they'll be nothing there, or not enough to see and I'll get no peace of mind 😢 some days I wake up and feel so positive and others I wake up and im like "I don't think I'm even pregnant" ... my anxiety is through the roof and I'm really struggling 😫

hicketypickety · 21/03/2024 11:38

@Charandbaby92 I had a scan on Tuesday (6+1) and she said it was measuring between 5-6 weeks and she could see a flickering but wasn't strong enough to measure. Going again next Tuesday. She said any variation of up to five days either way is totally normal (I was still worried but example she gave was she used to see similar when she worked in in IVF even when they can pinpoint exactly when conception occurred due to slight timing issues in implantation etc).

My scan is also on Monday I’ll be 6w. First pregnancy after ectopic, keep swinging between it will be fine and the worst case. Trying not to think about it too much.

last time I presented at EPAU at 5w4d with severe pain and my scan at 6w was a PUL so I can’t give you my own experience - however ive seen posts where people have seen yolk sac, fetal pole and heartbeat but others where it was just a sac and they’ve had to go back but then seen everything / or it’s been confirmed not progressing.

in all honestly, if it’s not another ectopic that will be a tiny win for me.

wishing you luck for Monday, let us know how you get on. X

H20202 · 21/03/2024 11:55

@waryandbored how many weeks do you think you are? Is it your first or second early scan? Really hope you return and you see things progressing - I’m so sorry you’re dealing with so much uncertainty.

also if they’ve seen potentially two sacs then it’s strange it’s classified as a PUL.. was it definitely a pregnancy of unknown location or a pregnancy of unknown viability? Xx

They definitely said they’re treating it as a pregnancy of unknown location at the moment.
Based on my period, I’m 6+3. However, I think I ovulated late - not until 24/2. Which would make me 5 I think?

H20202 · 21/03/2024 14:50

@waryandbored fingers crossed that given ovulation could have been later you are just not as far on as first thought and next time you go it will be all good news 🙏

Bratzy · 21/03/2024 15:37

I hope everything works out perfectly for everyone. 🤞🏼

I've had very sore boobs all day. Not nice but symptoms make it seem more real, as I also ask myself am I actually pregnant?! Didn't have a great sleep last night due to general anxiety. I just want a scan now. Think I'll book an early one for around 8 weeks. I've read that's the best earliest time to scan?
Baby should have a heartbeat now or in the next couple of days. 🥰 Pregnancy+ is a cool app, if anyone is looking for one.

Hi 👋
I’ve just found out I’m pregnant so very early days and due late Nov.
Ive got a 10 year old already and was pregnant last Nov but sadly had a MMC and surgical management in January.
Im sorry to hear that some of you have had losses before too
It’s such an anxious time.
I’m feeling very tired today and if I didn’t know I was pregnant would think I was coming down with something.
just trying to take it a day at a time at the moment as am scared of another loss but also trying to keep an eye on planning ahead (work wise etc) to lower the pressure and stress levels on me. My job is very busy and stressful right now but fortunately have a few days off - although family visiting at the weekend which will mean it’s busy. Don’t think I will be telling anyone except DH and my closest friends for a good while.

Welcome and congrats. 🙂 Sorry for your loss and I wish you the best of luck with this pregnancy. There's a lot of anxiety in this thread but we are in it together.

Hey, I tried to ring my Drs to see if they'd give me a blood test to check my levels are where they should be, but the receptionists wouldn't book me in. I am so scared because I just don't feel pregnant, my boobs have grown and the pain fluctuates but not to bad at all today, I haven't had any nausea or anything like that, I am constipated and need to go to the loo alot and I'm up alot in the night needing a wee but I am just scared something doesn't feel right as I don't feel any different

H20202 · 21/03/2024 17:59

@Rockyslife can you bypass GP and contact your early pregnancy assessment unit instead?? Or recontact go tomorrow and say you don’t want to see gp but will they issue a form for bloods to look at hcg?

That sounds more normal than not!! Xx

CurlyWurly1991 · 21/03/2024 18:31

Yeah I agree, symptoms come and go and really can’t be trusted to mean much. I had symptoms throughout my MMC so won’t trust them again sadly. No symptoms can be normal for many people too.

Other than my boobs killing me today, my symptoms have been very mild so far. I've only had one wave of nausea and that's it. Hopefully it's all normal.

CN1126 · 21/03/2024 19:11

Went for a private scan this evening after getting news last week that baby was measuring a week behind. There is still a heartbeat but baby has only grown a few days in the last week so it’s not looking great. I hate being in limbo I just wish we knew one way or another. I’m also taking progesterone pessaries so worry that’s delaying the inevitable

Loz365 · 21/03/2024 19:24

Ah so much to catch up on! Welcome to the new joiners and so sorry there's so much uncertainty going on.
I'm 7+1 weeks today and still not many symptoms other than the brown spotting which continues on... 🙄 and feeling very tired today, could go to bed now 😂

@CN1126 did they say anything about the slow growth? Were they concerned about it? And have you got any more scans booked in to monitor?

It was a different hospital so they just advised me to speak to the one in under for recurring miscarriages. I should have another with them but I’ve not heard anything from them yet I will probably ring tomorrow.
