@Cheetocat if it's an option for you I would recommend going to see someone private who is trained in tongue ties if you can. I'm so sorry your LO is having issues with his kidneys and bladder, it must be so hard for you. I hope everything goes well on Tuesday. I will be thinking of you both x

KayakingBex · 20/04/2024 07:12

@Cheetocat thinking of you. Hope the kidney issues with little one are resolved soon 🤞

My little man is 10 weeks old today, he's also very sleepy. The most I've ever known him to be in the day for a long time.
He's only staying awake about 45-60 mins then sleeping for an hour/90 mins.
He doesn't have a temperature or anything like that and seems himself when he's awake just finding it strange how sleepy he is.

Anyone else's little one been like this at 10 weeks?

Kirstylvsya · 22/04/2024 19:56

@CheeseAndCrackersx 11 weeks here and also very sleepy still, will be awake about an hour max then sleep again for 2/3 hours, happy and alert when awake also. No temp or anything. Will ask GP tomorrow we have her "8week" check.

Ebonythoughts · 23/04/2024 07:05

My daughter is almost 10 weeks and for the past 3/4 days her sleeping patterns have changed and she’s gone from 3/4 hour sleep stretches at night to 6/7 hours at night and sleeping less during the day. Is this normal? She’s feeding fine during the day but I’m worried that she’s only been getting 1/2 feeds a night now and she’s still only 10 weeks. Should I be waking her up or are longer stretches normal?

Yes, it’s normal @Ebonythoughts - my boy is the same at 10 weeks and he only has 1 bottle in the night now at 2/3am. They should be getting at least a 5 hour stretch of sleep during the night now and sleeping less during the day.

Havanalily1806 · 23/04/2024 08:17

@Ebonythoughts perfectly normal. From 6 weeks my LG has been sleeping through, we'd wake and feed at 10:30/11 and she sleeps through until 8am. She has her 5 bottles through the day

msp2023 · 23/04/2024 10:31

Hi lovely ladies! Hope everyone is doing well :)

Just wanted to ask if anyone has started sensory/music glasses for their little one?
Baby girl is 12 weeks now and wondering if it's worth it or if I should wait another month or so until she's a bit bigger to appreciate it more!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 23/04/2024 10:57

@msp2023 it's good for you to get out I'd say, but I did all this stuff with my first (sensory, massage, swimming etc) from a few weeks old, and honestly he didn't get much out of it.

This time around I'm waiting til she's about four months.

But if you'd like to do it, and would enjoy, def book it up

Sunshineclouds11 · 23/04/2024 12:05

@msp2023 I'm waiting for the next term so end of may/june to do classes.

As pp I done them earlier with my first and half the time he was asleep but it got me out.

I think DD will enjoy them more being that bit older.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 23/04/2024 12:25

Must be something at 10 weeks cos little man has gone from 1/2 hour stretches at night to 3/4 and taking more from his bottle in 1 go now 😀

Havanalily1806 · 23/04/2024 13:24

@msp2023 we started them last week so she was 9.5 weeks old. I like how it's given me a bit of routine for 2 days of the week, and it is good to have a reason to get up and out.

I can already see a difference from last weeks class to this week of what she's able to do and how she's responding. She also has a great nap after them which makes it worth it 😅

RachLeeds · 23/04/2024 15:13

Me and Charlie are starting baby sensory tomorrow! I’ll report back how it goes @msp2023. I’m going with my friend and her little girl is 15 weeks so will be interesting to see the difference in babies.

LavenderSweetPea · 23/04/2024 20:01

I started baby massage and sensory at 3w. I must have been mad! he didn't get anything out of the sensory and tbh slept for a lot of it. He's now 12w and I'd say still a little young for the sensory stuff but I've kept going because it has been a complete lifeline for me getting out and about. Also as most of the babies there are older, I've learnt loads about what to expect and tips etc from the other mums.

undercoverhero74 · 23/04/2024 20:15

Hey everyone! A quick question for anyone who is EBF?
My supply seems to have suddenly declined. My boobs are no longer feeling as full or hard as they have been and I'm leaking a lot less.
Baby is 7 weeks old now so I'm not sure if this is just my supply regulating or if there is an issue.
Baby seems happy and is gaining weight so wondering if this is common? My let down is also not as prominent as before.

Thewildthingsarewithme · 23/04/2024 20:27

@undercoverhero74 should be completely normal and just your supply regulating, just keep an eye on nappies for a few days and as long as LO is content I’m sure you’re good. I’m the same at nine weeks and remember it being similar with my first cx

LavenderSweetPea · 23/04/2024 20:35

@undercoverhero74 I definitely don't have cycles of 'full to bursting' and then 'omg so empty there's no milk left' like I used to in the early weeks. Now it seems I never feel full or empty but baby seems fine. Only exception is when he randomly sleeps all through night - then i still wake up an overinflated leaky mess.

undercoverhero74 · 23/04/2024 20:44

Ah thanks ladies! Thats really reassuring. Baby seems fine and plenty of wet nappies just I don't seem to have as much milk as before.
Even when pumping I am getting a lot less but I guess that would be because my body is making just enough for the baby?
I'll keep an eye on it but like you said I'm hoping it's just our new normal 😊

redxlondon · 24/04/2024 06:30

For those worrying about sleepiness - highly recommend the app Hucklebery. What you’re describing of sleeping through night, and hour-ish long awake windows is exactly what it helps to train you on. Where have you got that this might not be normal from?

KayakingBex · 24/04/2024 09:00

@Ebonythoughts my 10 week old is the same. Sleeping most of the night now, last feed is somewhere between 9 - 10pm and he wakes up around 5am. Occasional night where he wakes up at 3am but it’s rare. I’m just following his cues and checking his nappies.

@undercoverhero74 i worried too when this happens. It’s normal (breastfeeding support reassured me on that). I reassured myself by counting wet and dirty nappies and also by weighing myself and baby on scales then weighing myself and subtracting my weight.

huckleberry app is great for noting down nappies as well as apps so you can reassure yourself.

Does anyone else feel like their little one is more out of sorts tummy wise since the rotavirus vaccine at 8 weeks?

I'm in 2 minds about him having dose 2 at 12 weeks

In what way?

They do have couple of bad poo's after it.

RachLeeds · 24/04/2024 15:01

Well I have returned from our first baby sensory class! It was very cute and Charlie liked the lights and looking around but couldn’t do most of the activities. My friend’s baby who is 15/16 weeks definitely got more out of it because she can sit up with support. I think baby massage may be the better option at this age but for me baby sensory is still “worth it” to get out of the house and have a nice experience with baby/socialise with other mums etc if that makes sense.

Newmumma0 · 24/04/2024 17:35

Hi ladies, could I join in please? I’ve been following these chats from the early feb 2024 threads just never posted! My little girl is 10 weeks today (born on Valentine’s Day). Very jealous of all of you with your babies sleeping so much😂

Question for BF mums - how did you cope with stopping? I always had an open mindset about it and always said that I wanted to try it but if it didn’t work out I would stop. We’ve had trouble with feeding for a while, tongue tie and reflux which has resulted in me having sore and cracked nipples since day one. Her latch has been checked multiple times and is fine. We introduced formula as top ups initially and it’s more like combi feeding now. I’m at a point now where I hate the feeling of her feeding on me, and I’m ready to have my body back which I know sounds so selfish 😪she seems so much more satisfied after a bottle of formula too so I’ve decided I want to stop breastfeeding however I feel really emotional about it, like what if I regret my decision once I stop?

sorry for the long first post😁

anony1111 · 24/04/2024 20:34

Those of you with the huckleberry app, do you have the paid version? If so is it worth paying for would you say?
