@tierneytarny no i had an Mc at 9 weeks. I did have my daughter the next pregnancy though with no issues

tierneytarny · 31/01/2024 19:56

@siobhanmt247 I’m sorry to hear you have had a loss in the past. I’m trying to stay positive but fearing the worst.

I might silence this group for a while. It all seems a bit much. I’m not quite sure what to do - whether to book in again for a couple of weeks or just see what happens.

Demi55 · 31/01/2024 20:01

@Fawklight @rupertbear91 that's pretty terrible. I have been pretty impressed with EPU at my local hospital, when I had my bloods as soon as I got to the threshold (HCG level of 1500) they rang within the hour and got me in within 2 hours.

@californiacooper that’s good that they are doing that. Really similar so I have had a 5 week scan, 6 week scan and at the 6 week scan today they said they need to book me back in for between 10-14 days. They also asked if I’ve had the dating appointment and was looking at the wait I would have between my 8 week scan and 12 week scan.

Fawklight · 31/01/2024 20:09

@Demi55

My EPU took bloods but never told me what the results were. I had to phone them for results of the swabs they took.

Demi55 · 31/01/2024 20:14

@Fawklight wow that’s terrible! Did they do more after 48 hours? They told me exact figures. It went from 1827 to 3659 in 48 hours. It eas the main way they wanted to check I wasn’t having an ectopic pregnancy

Fawklight · 31/01/2024 20:28

@Demi55 no. They took blood did a scan and confirmed it was a viable pregnancy and then that was it. Wouldn't see me again until my husband stepped in.

Xur · 31/01/2024 20:34

So I had a scan today and I am delighted to learn my little munchkin is ahead. Measuring one day ahead of schedule. (The previous scan measured one day behind, so munchkin has been actively growing these past few days) Pictures attached show in one picture the little one is showcasing the limbs. In the other picture we are seeing the brain has started to form (black area around head) and the umbilical cord growing.
I had a very knowledgeable technician she told me what type of uterus I have among other new stuff I didn’t know. Said the range of normal heartbeat at this age ranges between 110-170 and mine is going with 161.
I wash chuckling like a little girl at the scan 💓💞💓

@xur congratulations :)

Evening,
I tested positive on the 16/01. The pregancy test said 3+ weeks. The very next day filled out the self referral form to see the midwife etc & still haven't herd anything back. It's my first pregancy and getting very antsy 🤣 how long does it normally take to get the first appointment?

I submitted my referral on 22/01 but emailed them to follow up on Monday. They said you should hear back within a week where I live so I'd defo give them a call or email as mine said my referral hadn't originally come through

Demi55 · 31/01/2024 20:59

@Fawklight thats disappointing, it’s strange how different hospitals can be. I’ve heard pretty bad things about the women’s hospital near me but I can’t praise them enough if I’m honest!

@Xur the scan pictures are awesome! Glad everything is goood!

ForeverHopeful67 · 31/01/2024 21:01

Congratulations @Xur 🥰 great looking pics!

Out of curiosity does anyone else have a tilted uterus? I think it was found during my last pregnancy and the sonographer mentioned it again yesterday and had to apply quite a bit of pressure to get the pics and see clearly - just wondered if I'm the only one!

rupertbear91 · 31/01/2024 21:23

Great pics @Xur

@ForeverHopeful67 I have a tilted uterus too think it makes getting good pics at this early stage a bit harder!

Xur · 31/01/2024 21:41

@ForeverHopeful67 I have an arcuate uterus, which is similar to heart shaped uterus, but not with as a distinctive heart shape and it’s a bit to one side she said.
But it’s not introverted or anything so all is normal.
Apparently the shape or position changes nothing really.

thank you all for the kind words 💖

Hi 👋 can I please join you guys? I’ve been following your threads for days (read all of part 2 and have finally caught up!) I’m pregnant with number 4 (I have 3 girls aged 9,3 & 1). I’m really anxious about this pregnancy though, not necessarily about the pregnancy itself but rather the need for a new car and to organise sleeping arrangements. My symptoms seemed to have pretty much disappeared today but im not concerned, quite glad actually to not be feeling sea sick! I really can’t believe I’m going to be doing this all over again (This will definitely be my last pregnancy) I had my first in 2014 and if this one sticks my last will be in 2024. 10 years of babies 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m looking forward to sharing this journey with you guys! I reckon I’m due September 28th but I’m not sure as I’ve not had any scans or appointments yet.

Welcome 💛 I’ve been trying to catch up but been massively behind and tbh I’ve felt really out of sorts after our really deflating response from my parents when I told them about our pregnancy (our third) to a point where I now just don’t want to tell anyone else and want everyone to just fuck off. Have you told anyone about this pregnancy yet? What was the response to your third? I almost feel as if people are disappointed in us, when actually, this is our first “tried for” and very much expected baby. They’re so wanted and now I just feel shit at everyone’s judgement 🙁 xx

HoneyandSunshine · 31/01/2024 21:53

Sorry didn’t mean to high jack your first ever post in the group @SmushyButt 😂 I’m just hoping you can help in some way in case you might understand or “get it”? I’m feeling proper meh 🙁

Also, congrats on all the lovely scans ❤️❤️ and so sorry to read about the losses and bad news’s 😞

MrsB2019x · 31/01/2024 22:38

Lovely scan @Xur 😍

@Deee876 Mine took just over 2 weeks, maybe chase in a week if you haven’t had a call? They emailed me on 12/1 to arrange my booking appt for 6/2, feels a lifetime to wait 😅

tierneytarny · 31/01/2024 23:31

I’ve spent the evening reading up on early scans etc and considering the length of the gestational sac etc and I decided to look for my early scan with my last baby. I can see I went for it at 6+6 weeks after my LMP (whereas today is 6 weeks after my LMP). In my early scan last time, I measured 5+5 weeks (which would be 8 days behind my calculated EDD if I had a 28 day cycle) and today I am also measuring 8 days behind my calculated EDD if I had a 28 day cycle). Maybe everything will be ok and I just don’t scan well early on?!

Sorry if this is garbled, I just wonder whether I am panicking over nothing.

Decaffe · 31/01/2024 23:54

@tierneytarny This is interesting - the orange arrow is the measurement scale that the NHS uses. The green measurement is a proposed updated measurement using modern technology and a larger sample size of women.

I think the fact you saw a heartbeat is a brilliant sign and I am keeping everything crossed for you.

Edit to add, at my private scan they measured my CRL at 3.43mm so supposedly 5w4d according the the Hadlock scale. I know for a fact this is impossible as it would mean I got a positive at 2w6d! However, going off the Pexsters’ scale, 3.43mm put me at just over 6w1d, when I reckon I was 6w0d, which makes much more sense.

I am so completely unfazed by the private clinic’s measurements. It’s so early and difficult to measure accurately, I found a stat earlier that said if you got different sonographers to measure the same early CRL, they disagree in 30% of cases. Honestly, don’t get disheartened at this stage. 🤞🏼

Even though I’ve been feeling rotten today, husband and I had tickets for an event this evening and I decided to go. I live in the Greater London area and so this was my first public transport outing wearing my ‘Baby on Board’ badge. I figured we wouldn’t know anyone there because the event was on the other side of London.

Got there, found our seats, and then 10 minutes later the people in the seats next to us arrived.

It was our next door neighbours 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Pregnancy news is out then 😂

Kofifi · 01/02/2024 02:52

Hey I'll join! I'm 7 weeks today and having my first checkup next Tuesday

tierneytarny · 01/02/2024 06:39

@Decaffe thanks for this. Using this, I’d be 6w1d…

My husband has said we’ll wait the 1-2 weeks and get rescanned and see but he is completely unfazed. He said he thought that compared to my other early scans the sonographer didn’t take too long to take measurements and didn’t double check them. He is certain he saw a heartbeat too.

I've calmed down a little - roll on 10 days time where we’ll see what’s going on.

HRP1990 · 01/02/2024 06:49

Girls! How dare I go to the cinema (mean girls - it’s awful, don’t see it) and dinner (Asian - struggled with the kimchee🫠) it has taken me ages to catch up lol

@Xur congrats in your scan! I’m getting excited for mine now.

@ForeverHopeful67 I have a tilted uterus too, I always have to put my fists under my bum for smears.. makes it easier apparently!?

All the dating talk has got me thinking.. are the sonographers going by ovulation date or LMP? Especially if the dates are off by roughly 2 weeks? Could be ovulation/implantation and that’s why the dates are so off? Just a thought!

californiacooper · 01/02/2024 06:51

@tierneytarny I'm glad the you are feeling a bit better, and that DH is pretty chilled, if my partner gets worried with me about something it makes it worse because it validates my reason for worrying 🫣.

Since your post I have also considered something I didn't previously, that I should have been further than 5 weeks and maybe it's just stopped growing. But. I don't think I can do anything to change that and so I just need to wait to next Thursday. (Also this is pretty close to my last scan so there may be not a lot of change). I wish they had done a blood test so we could compare hcg but she said she didn't even need to as I was obv pregnant.

californiacooper · 01/02/2024 06:52

@Decaffe that's really interesting, where did you find this out? I don't know a lot about maternity medicine and how things are worked out/graded but there must be systems and classifications that change over time just like with everything else.
