@MrsB2019x thanks, that's a good idea. I will try. Glad you got yours moved up.

californiacooper · 11/02/2024 10:46

@bouncingblob @Queijo ... I am so so very sorry for your losses, this whole thing is so tentative it's like joy and heartbreak are separated by a thread ... my thoughts and love are with you both.

@WolfMother326 wow what a beautiful little bean with arms and legs!!! How many weeks are you?? I think I might arrange a scan for this estimated time, I've got another 6 weeks until my 6 week scan.

@Lillers I think I might be due October in the end, all being well, I'm keeping track on the oct thread too as I feel like I'm so far behind most of you guys on here now, I've got a 4.8mm lentil and some of you have arms and legs!

hol92 · 11/02/2024 11:07

Lovely scan @WolfMother326 :)

Does anyone have any healthy but bland ideas for snacks and dinners for nausea? I'm either, toast, crisps, jacket with cheese or thin margarita pizza, it's just rubbish food and I think it's mentally making me feel down because I usually eat really healthy foods, I constantly eat crisps to keep the sickness at bay - just looking for some ideas before I do the now dreaded week food shop today haha! X

Fik88 · 11/02/2024 11:11

@WolfMother326 awww lovely scan picture

@Lillers I am not having an early scan just waiting until 12 week NHS scan. I have my booking appointment on Tuesday though but will be 9 weeks 3 days then.

Getting Nervous though now because i had a miscarriage not long after booking appointment last time, my last baby stopped growing at 9 weeks 1 day but didn't find out until 10 and a half weeks and it was only because i had a small bleed. Hoping all is good this time and trying to stay positive

californiacooper · 11/02/2024 12:17

@hol92 how about pasta? With a relatively plain sauce maybe just some cream cheese and olive oil... maybe some shredded roast chicken for protein, handful of peas or sweetcorn or some veg that doesn't feel too overwhelming??

I'm making roast chicken with braised rice today (cooked in oven with stock, onion, carrot and pepper chopped really small) can add more flavour if you want or keep it quite bland. Is nice for lunch at work too, can add extra bits over next few days. Pretty boring but also quite low fat and filling,

Xur · 11/02/2024 12:35

@siobhanmt247 are you actually spotting or you just feel like you are?

@hol92 make mash potatoes with some tomato salad on the side

@WolfMother326 that’s a lovely scan! ☺️

WolfMother326 · 11/02/2024 12:40

@californiacooper it was amazing, we could see the fingers. I think the machine at the place where I did the NIPT was a lot higher tech than most scan places. I'm 10+2 with an estimated due date of 5 September.

siobhanmt247 · 11/02/2024 12:50

@Xur just feel like I am. I need to start being a bit more positive

Lillers · 11/02/2024 13:13

@hol92 I’m quite liking rice at the moment - not very exciting but sometimes I’ll have a bit of whatever husband is having with some rice, or even some of the different flavoured microwave rices - I’ve been quite liking just having a bowl of the Uncle Ben’s microwave Mexican rice for example.

Another thing I did last week was get some of the ready filled pastas you can get - like ravioli or tortellini - heating those up without a sauce and literally snacking on them. I had to stop in the end though because I went off any meat that looks mushed up (my own fault, I looked at the inside of a sausage and it made me sick 😂). I don’t eat dairy so could only eat the meat ones.

Cinai · 11/02/2024 13:28

Just catching up on the posts…so sorry to see the bad news, what an emotional rollercoaster it all is.

I’m not that positive anymore myself, my symptoms get less and less. I wouldn’t be concerned if I never had them, or if there was the odd couple of days without symptoms, but mine pretty much disappeared at 7 weeks. I’m 8 weeks today and just start to feel more and more normal with each day. From 5+5 until 7 weeks I had quite severe nausea with vomitting, but not much since I hit 7 weeks. Zero nausea yesterday and today, and full of energy again. I think I might have to book another scan for this week and prepare for the worst.

californiacooper · 11/02/2024 14:42

@Cinai It can be okay not to have any symptoms though, right? I mean there are stories of people not knowing they are pregnant until they are in labour... how I have no idea...

Cinai · 11/02/2024 15:17

@californiacooper I had quite severe symptoms though, it’s just that they’ve stopped…but you're right, it’s impossible to know one way or the other, I’m holding on to the hope that my body just found a way to deal with pregnancy and went back to normal after an initial ‘shock’.

FuppinNora · 11/02/2024 15:25

So sorry for all the losses in the past few days. Look after yourselves x

I've bitten the bullet and paid for a private scan. It may be another 4 weeks before the hospital scan if not more. I'm driving myself mad thinking it's twins, thinking the cramping is a bad sign. I'm also going away on holiday on a couple of weeks and I'd rather know the situation I am in. I also want to tell my 15 year old but I want to ensure everything is ok first. Tomorrow! Nervous!

I'm enjoying pre cut fruit pots as snacks/lunch especially the ones with melon in it. Very refreshing. I'm still tired in the evenings but I have a bit more energy around the house. Nausea has settled and constipation has released itself!!

Xur · 11/02/2024 15:29

@Cinai watch you’ll jinx the symptoms. Like me yesterday , moaned about having no symptoms and was caught up by the same symptoms I was missing 😂

today I have a black hole opened inside me, I am craving carbs. I opened the day with a kinder bueno, continued with fried sweet potatoes, followed by faggots, then a panna cota and now In waiting for partner to come home with an ice cream. 🍦

Lillers · 11/02/2024 16:05

@FuppinNora I’m also loving fruit pots at the moment! I know they’re not great value for money, but I love knowing they’re just sitting in the fridge ready for me to have whenever I want!

Emmaev · 11/02/2024 16:38

Symptoms are so up and down in the first trimester and tend to calm down a little towards the end. Every time I think I’m feeling better the next day I’m rough.

My appetite is huge this pregnancy, I can not stop eating. And it’s all bad food, if I’m not eating I’m feeling nauseous. My belly is massive already and I’m only 10+4.

Is it anyone else’s 2nd pregnancy and their belly is big already? I’m definitely showing much sooner than when I had my daughter

MrsB2019x · 11/02/2024 18:06

@FuppinNora Also a huge fan of the fruit pots! I have been eating the ones that are in juice which I know aren’t the healthiest in terms of sugar but they seem to be more consistent in flavour than the ones from the fresh aisle

Sydney1988 · 11/02/2024 19:53

I am really feeling the effects of the beige diet - omg the constipation has suddenly hit. I now have a pet pile too! The blood in the loo this morning was concerning - luckily only from the bum. The joy. My diet today has been fresh orange juice, a decaf coffee, wholemeal toast, hummus, mango and had 2 psycillium husk capsules for pure fibre. And no movement 😫 anyone have any tips??

FuppinNora · 11/02/2024 21:03

Water, water, water! Also I've been having 5 dried prunes for my breakfast - luckily I actually love prunes. That's what has helped me anyway!

Kate543 · 12/02/2024 01:42

No advice on feeling blocked up I’m afraid but hope you are sorted soon. I have had such a bad day of sickness I can’t eat or drink much of anything and I’m now laying awake with nausea and worrying about my scan In the morning 🤢

TTCSoManyQuestions88 · 12/02/2024 02:40

@Sydney1988 LOTS of water, a glass of prune juice or a handful of prunes, AND 2 kiwis a day. No mint tea.

You want to get on this because piles are a big, painful issue in pregnancy and it will get worse as you go further along. Also, constipation makes bloating and nausea worse. Good luck!!!

Sydney1988 · 12/02/2024 09:27

@FuppinNora @TTCSoManyQuestions88 @Kate543 Thank you ladies. Getting on the prune juice today! I think I’ve turned a slight spew corner at 10 weeks so I need to lay off the beige and get the fruit and veg in! Oh and best of luck with your scan @Kate543 x

Cat2022 · 12/02/2024 09:55

@Sydney1988 my pet pile is back too although it’s never got to the point of bleeding so hoping it can settle down before then.

I have 3 weeks today until my NHS scan and I’m starting to get impatient. Trying to avoid private scans still but might need to give in.

Has anyone else noticed baby brain kicking in? In the last week I have got days and times of 3 appointments mixed up. I’m back at work next week and don’t know how I’m going to cope with a fish brain.

Ihavenamechanged987 · 12/02/2024 10:05

I saw the baby brain comment and thought I’d add a resounding YES to it!
I turned up at the wrong birthday party on Saturday. Dd was invited to a class bouncy castle party. Got there and as I was walking in thought I don’t recognise any of these people but they’re probably family friends. Went to put the gift on the table and saw a woman arranging all the party bags… that’s definitely not birthday girls mother!
Yep… Turned out the party is next Saturday! 🤦‍♀️ One removal of an upset child later and I’m thinking what the hell is wrong with me!

SC126 · 12/02/2024 10:51

So I went for my epu reassurance scan this morning and I'm now just over 9 weeks. Baby bean is perfectly healthy and was wiggling and even gave us a wave. Typical tight fisted nhs though didn't give us a scan photo so I'm glad I paid for a private scan a couple weeks ago.
I seem to have the opposite of constipation and wouldn't mind a bit of that. Every few days I get like a hormone surge or something and my arse is exploding 🙈🤣
