@Ihavenamechanged987 welcome, tough decisions sometimes have to be made but don't blame yourself. You were doing what was best for you at the time.

Go for a scan and put your mind at rest and see the little heartbeat😀

VT6 · 09/02/2024 07:34

I 100% jinxed myself the other day about the sickness levelling out 🫣
Yesterday was by far the worst, I couldn’t move without feeling sick, I’ve woke up feeling like I’ve been drinking shots all night 🤢

Decaffe · 09/02/2024 07:39

Thanks so much everyone for the good wishes. I struggled on through the day, then fell asleep in front of the TV at 9!

@californiacooper Hurrah! So pleased for you 💛

@rupertbear91 gosh that’s a lot to process isn’t it? But I am so pleased for you that there is one strong heartbeat. 💓

Happy Friday everyone, at last! Next step for me is the booking in appointment on Monday, I really hope I get my 12 week scan date then.

@TTCSoManyQuestions88 same 😂 I’m affraid to see what comes later. I got a feeling this is a symptom that will intensify over time 😂

Kofifi · 09/02/2024 09:45

I am feeling so overwhelmed at work. I don't want to tell anyone for another month but struggling to see how its going to go unnoticed. I am so tired. I can't focus at all. I don't know how the hell I'm going to keep this up for the next few months. Please someone tell me it gets better

tierneytarny · 09/02/2024 13:23

@Decaffe I’m so thrilled it went well for you! We did make up…..maybe it was me being a teeny bit unreasonable (not that I’ve told him that 😂).

@californiacooper thats fantastic news! We’re exactly the same date wise - LMP date and current dates based on scans. The private scan company said my provisional due date is 03 October (but I am certain of my ovulation dates and I know when I got my positive test so I can’t see that that date will stay as it is). I reckon I'm anywhere from 8 weeks to 7+2 - irregular cycle lengths. I have changed my app to say I’m 6+1 as I think I’ll do better pulling a date forward than pushing it back 🙈

californiacooper · 09/02/2024 14:21

@tierneytarny I wasn't tracking ovulation so don't really have a clue when I ovulated, I also didn't keep a note of when we DTD ... i would have assumed it was further along but it was literally 4.8mm. I've had more cramping today it seems to be about once a week, then a bit of spotting. Trying to remind myself it could be totally normal and little bean is growing.
The tiredness is really getting to me today. I have so much to do but all I want to do is sleep.

Charlotte390 · 09/02/2024 14:45

Hi all, I had my scan today at 10+4 and all was perfect. However, I also just got back my full post mortem results from my miscarriage in August, and they have found that I have chronic histiocytic intervillositis, which is extremely rare and highly likely to reoccur. I'm so terrified, my preliminary PM results came back with nothing so we though we were all clear to start trying again, and now I've found out my lovely baby has a very low chance of surviving. There doesn't seem to be much research or treatment available. I'm already taking heparin and aspirin but now I don't know if that's enough. Sorry for the downer message, I'm in shock and don't know what to do. Our house purchase fell through this week as well, everything just seems so hopeless.

Lillers · 09/02/2024 14:48

@Kofifi I’m finding work really hard - it’s like I can’t think in a straight line. I’m so pleased I told work because they’ve been really supportive and my line manager has really tried to keep my stress levels in check.

Lillers · 09/02/2024 14:51

@Charlotte390 Oh my goodness, that must be such hard news to take. I’m so sorry and fingers crossed that it goes well this time.

MudandMoet · 09/02/2024 15:55

@Kofifi how many weeks are you? Just hang in there as it may pass soon, I'm symptom free since around 9 weeks (maybe just a few days after)

@Charlotte390 keep thinking of the positive for now and that is as far as you know you're 10+4 with a little growing baby and all is okay until someone says different. Conveyancing is a mare at any time so I don't envy you dealing with this stress on top of pregnancy and your other issue. Are they seeing you again soon due to the HI? Xx

For those of you saying you're irritable and/or more highly strung than usual Im intrigued as to if I'll get this as I'm so chill as a rule it's unreal and havent noticed any mood changes yet at all, I think I'm still on cloud 9 I'm here and still pregnant (🤞🏼) if it does come my DH is going to be like woah, what the hell is going on!!

Ha! Saying that ^^ I am a bit annoyed as my MW said my prescription for the 5mg folic acid which you have to get from her/Dr, would be ready at the Doctors today, popped in for it and it's not even been asked for, so a) wasted trip and b) the woman who dealt with me at the prescription desk is my aunties best friend so she knows (because she checked my notes) and I don't want anyone I know knowing (even though I'm sure she won't/can't saying anything because of GDPR) just irked me a bit, like we've managed to keep it a secret all this time and now she knows!! Rant over ... maybe I am irritable 😂 🫣

siobhanmt247 · 09/02/2024 16:17

@Charlotte390 im so sorry that sounds like a lot to deal with. X

MadsAngel · 09/02/2024 17:16

Hi all, I've been a little bit quiet due to a crazy week but would like your opinion. So I bled a bit on Tuesday and had a panic. I called the EPU who couldn't see me until today, which I booked. I then managed to book a private scan on the day and all was good and measured 7+2. I still went to the scan at EPU today and measured 7+1 but heartbeat was strong etc. just wondering if anyone has experienced different places giving them very different measurements. The measurement today was taken when it looked like part of baby was hidden but now I'm a little nervous that something is wrong...

MadsAngel · 09/02/2024 17:16

Also I know they don't recommend scans this close together but it's my first and I keep getting so nervous

MadsAngel · 09/02/2024 17:19

So according to my LMP and the scan on Tuesday I should be 7+5 today, I just don't understand how the measurement today is supposedly smaller than Tuesday but baby looks healthy?

Xur · 09/02/2024 17:48

@MadsAngel

the measurements do not matter that much in the beginning because it can be affected by the position of the baby at that moment, how the technician measures. It’s literally like a “paint ruler” they put point A and B and it shows distance between points and the difference is literally millimetres.

@Charlotte390
that sounds like a lot to process, the only thing I couldn’t understand from what I googled about this condition is it guaranteed that it surfaces in every pregnancy?
because it’s chronic when it’s ongoing but in different pregnancies we grow a new placenta, so that would need to be an another case of the illness. Is it really guaranteed to be effecting every new unit of placenta we grow?
I read about the stats, as in about 50% are still births and about 30% make it to full term, but I’ve also read studies that said individuals with submucusal fibroids have about 50% of successful pregnancies from which another 50% goes to term. However…in practice the data is better, apparently practically most people don’t ever even find they have submucusal fibroids and go on to have even several kids without problems. So maybe in your case the odds are not as bad as they’re painted either?

Emmaev · 09/02/2024 17:51

@Charlotte390 I’m so sorry, as hard as it is take each day as it comes, today you are pregnant with a healthy bean measuring as they should. Sending lots of love

@MadsAngel i wouldn’t worry too much about a small difference, babies are so tiny at this gestation I think it’s quite common to be a couple of days either way of what you may expect.

Charlotte390 · 09/02/2024 17:56

@Xur thank you for your optimistic response! From what I can gather it's related to my immune system, so the placenta gets clogged with maternal immune cells in almost every pregnancy. I've read that steroids and other medications might be able to help with this, but the odds just look so scary. There also seems to be very minimal research into it.
I'm currently staring at my phone waiting for a call from my obstetrician but have been for the last few hours! Just worried that being 10+4 already it's too late. Scan this morning was healthy, one day behind but no concern. All I can do is hold onto that, keep up the scans and try to get any meds that may help. That's not taking my mental health into account though 😫

xenababy · 09/02/2024 18:41

Hi all!

I'm sorry if someone covered this already but what are some other ways to cope with nausea other than the usual herbal teas etc

I haven't actually been sick yet (not for lack of trying because I thought that it would help) but I can't keep feeling like this.

I have taken a week off work and I am dreading going back because I can barely walk from my room to the kitchen these days and I haven't told my work yet (waiting for my first scan on 20th)

Any advice would be welcome 😭😭

Lillers · 09/02/2024 18:49

@xenababy I was off work last week with nausea and was dreading this week, but I managed to get through.

These are all the things I’ve done to control my nausea:

  • acupressure wristbands
  • ginger biscuits (pack kept by the bed and one eaten before I go to sleep and when I wake up)
  • constantly sipping either fruit flavoured sparkling water or barley water squash
  • sucking on mint imperials

Combining all of these haven’t completely got rid of the nausea, I still have horrible flare ups, but it has made it much more bearable. Hopefully there’s something there that can help you!

SC126 · 09/02/2024 18:55

@xenababy my gp to signed me off work for 2 weeks and I got prescribed cyclizine. Nothing was working against the nausea and I was exhausted from it even though was never actually sick.

californiacooper · 09/02/2024 19:24

@MadsAngel yep definitely, I went for Pvt scan who said I wasn't pregnant/had miscarried, endometrial lining was 1.4mm, the following day EPU confirmed I was pregnancy (5weeks), lining was 12mm. So. Yep. 🤣🤣
Obviously someone got it horribly wrong for me but I can imagine that different operators, different scanners, different monitors all have a big effect on the measurements. Different position of you on the bed, it's a little jelly bean isn't it it's squishy, I'm sure it can bend and stretch a bit

40andhopeful · 09/02/2024 20:58

@MadsAngel
I really wouldn't worry...I went for my first private scan today thinking I was 7+2. When she first measured she said I was 6+6 so I commented that I was a little behind what I expected and she said 5 days either way is ok at this point as long as everything else looks good.
At the end she took measurements from a different angle and it was 7+1
I'm sure you are fine, the main thing is you saw a heartbeat ☺️

MadsAngel · 09/02/2024 21:41

Thanks everyone for your reassurance, I feel much better now🩷

MrsM89 · 09/02/2024 22:02

Second epau scan today and measuring 8+5 so excatly 2 weeks on from last scan 2 weeks ago. Got another booked for 2 weeks time. Xx
