@MadsAngel @Bakerbean oh my goodness look at those babies!!!!!! So amazing well done!!

MrsB2019x · 03/02/2024 14:06

Aaaahhhhhh beautiful scans ladies 😍😍😍

MudandMoet · 03/02/2024 14:14

@MadsAngel @Bakerbean brilliant scans, so pleased for you both ❤️

@HRP1990 Just alcohol and soft cheese is all I'm missing so far, sad but true! oh wow! Do you live near the sea?

@Lillers definitely not super woman, alas no choice 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

rupertbear91 · 03/02/2024 14:18

What fab scans this morning!

I caved and got some maternity leggings I am so sick of being cut in two and they are so much more comfy especially with the sickness.

I did only manage 20 minutes out of the house at the shops before having to sit down as I nearly fainted and then facing to the toilet to be sick. Don't think I will be leaving the house again in a rush 😢

californiacooper · 03/02/2024 14:38

@HRP1990 skincare is something I've been wondering about ...so I've ditched my retinol, what else do I have to avoid?? And is there any regime or product you would recommend??

Xur · 03/02/2024 14:49

@MadsAngel &@Bakerbean awesome scans both of you!❤️ I’m so happy to see these little babies growing!

my midwife still hasn’t turned up, I sent her a text message, wondering if she has a time in mind and she hasn’t responded 😂 my spouse came home for lunch and he said he thinks she will just not turn up. Which is starting to look like it because it’s nearly 1500 now.

HRP1990 · 03/02/2024 14:52

Yes right on the coast! @MudandMoet Whilst I don’t eat it often I am looking forward to fancying sushi - it’s fine if frozen before hand.

I think it’s just vitamin A! @californiacooper I was using Tretinoin which is a strong form of retinol but I’ve also ditched that too

Caroline2023 · 03/02/2024 14:52

@MadsAngel @Bakerbean 🥺🥺🥰🥰

Lillers · 03/02/2024 14:55

What is everyone drinking at the minute? I found it easy to give up alcohol, and to begin with quite enjoyed some of the replacements (0% Freixenet, 0% Gordon’s & lemonade etc) but now I’m finding it really hard to like anything I’m drinking - even water tastes horrible to me. I’m living off Robinsons orange fruit & barley water because it’s the only thing I can stomach, but it is starting to get a bit boring!

SC126 · 03/02/2024 15:00

@Lillers Cola. Hoping my teeth forgive me from all the sugar but nothing tastes nice otherwise. I’ll drink some water in between 😂

hol92 · 03/02/2024 15:03

@Lillers try the flavoured sparkling waters! They are a life savour last time and this time :) the fizzy helps with sickness and they taste nice a subtle :) x

Lillers · 03/02/2024 15:08

@hol92 Ooh I actually have some in the back of the cupboard from last summer - I’ll dig one out and put it in the fridge!

@SC126 I had a proper coke (glass bottle and everything) earlier in the week and really enjoyed it, but then felt a bit rough afterwards. I might have drank it too fast though.

VT6 · 03/02/2024 15:17

I cried at my scan, seeing the little heartbeat makes it all very real!
Bang on 8weeks so got my dates perfect!
Maybe I can relax now 🤣

Xur · 03/02/2024 15:31

@VT6 awwwh so lovely 😻 I am also now rather relaxed after having a good 8W scan earlier this week.

smbr · 03/02/2024 15:37

Hi ladies! Long time lurker here! I hope you don’t mind, I’ve been following you all for a couple of weeks but have held off posting until after my early reassurance scan which was today at 6w+2 with due date of 26th September. Very relieved to see a heartbeat and measurements bang on with my dates. I have followed the highs and lows and I would now love to join you friendly bunch for the rest of our journeys ❤️

This is my first pregnancy and it’s unlocked a sea of anxiety and emotions I don’t know I had, so learning from you all has been invaluable so far.

I’ve had little to no symptoms, apart from tiredness, occasional headache and very sore boobs, especially nipples when I’m running - any suggestions to help with this?!

Interesting complicating factors for me are that I’m going on my hen do in 2 weeks time, and will be getting married in May at 20 weeks pregnant. Quite a busy year ahead!

cd24x · 03/02/2024 15:41

@MadsAngel, @Bakerbean, @Caroline2023, @VT6 - beautiful scan pics

@Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow, @Lillers - I've just been and bought myself some very stretchy jeggings and a couple of floaty dresses for work. The only thing that fits me at the moment is joggers!

@Lillers - definitely agree with @hol92 that fizzy helps with the sickness. I've been on the fizzy flavoured water all week and seems to help. @SC26 I've treated myself to a couple of cans of full fat coke, but feeling bad about the sugar too!

7+3 today and was quite violently sick this morning. But I did feel a lot better after getting it all up. I just hope it's a one off and not a sign of things to come.

TTCSoManyQuestions88 · 03/02/2024 16:50

@californiacooper have been wondering about skin care too, my skin has gone sooo dry. I normally have greasy spotty acne prone skin. I haven't had a spot in a month now! But instead my skin is really dry and flaky and my foundation doesn't sit right anymore.

TTCSoManyQuestions88 · 03/02/2024 16:53

@Lillers I'm struggling with not drinking alcohol purely because of the taste of sugary drinks, it's making me leave socials early tbh. I HATE coke, sprite, sweet drinks generally, and there's only so much sparkling water I can drink on a night out.

I am finding kombucha a bit nicer although can't really get that at the pub lol.

I've tried a few zero alcohol wines and they were all shit. Not worth the money.

Xur · 03/02/2024 17:46

The idea of taste of alcohol makes me 🤢 I already had this on New Year’s Eve, I couldn’t even finish my glass of champagne and then The following morning I found out I I was pregnant.

Cinai · 03/02/2024 17:49

Oh God, me too about the alcohol! When I first tested positive I researched all the non-alcoholic options, but now I’m happy if I can keep water and tea down. 😅

californiacooper · 03/02/2024 18:04

@HRP I was finishing up my tretinoin after doing Obagi New Derm a year ago, I think it made a difference. I reluctantly stopped when I went for the IVF. Unfortunately this pregnancy was such a surprise I didn't get a chance to top up the Botox 😭was planning on doing it before my embryo transfer. Oh well.

@TTCSoManyQuestions88 funnily I normally don't have dry skin but I've had a funny dry patch on one cheek for a few weeks now I put it down to the weather.
Also. 0% wine is GROSS, 0% beer is actually quite nice, who knows what's in it though...

@Xur unfortunately I would absolutely die for a nice cold glass of champagne right now 🤣🤣 I did have some over Xmas though thank goodness.

Re: drinks, I'm sticking to water, peppermint and camomile tea, and decaf coffee in the morning. Don't want the extra caffeine from cola, or the acidity. And most other fizzy drinks are sugary and full of chemicals and rubbish I can't bring myself to consume. (I was partial to a rum and coke, a G&T or a wine, but I'd prefer not to drink fizzy drinks on their own so I think I'll just have water)

@VT6 awww cute!!! I think I might cry too, I don't have anyone to go with me so I'll be blubbing on my own lol

@smbr welcome! Ahh a different hen than you may have imagined!! But definitely an interesting year!

siobhanmt247 · 03/02/2024 18:13

@californiacooper i was going to get my botox topped up too. Didn't think I'd get pregnant so soon and I actually researched whether it was ok under 4 weeks. Tested far too early!

I started the month doing dry and and I regret it now!

Xur · 03/02/2024 18:16

So I’m back from the food shop, put it all in the fridge and thinking my fixation foods becoming a little obvious don’t you think?

I can’t help but wonder why do I want to eat so much protein, why specifically protein from non meat…

MudandMoet · 03/02/2024 18:38

@HRP1990 how lovely! I'm super envious 🥰

@VT6 great scan pic, hopefully it all feels real now and you can relax a little xx

Hi @smbr 👋🏼 welcome to the club! Congratulations 🥳 (baby and engagement!) how exciting!

@californiacooper I didn't even manage a glass of champers over Christmas, I found out on the 24th 😫 so I'm with you on the could really knock one back right now - but it's coke for me tonight, again! (Also I blubbed on my own at my last scan)

Queijo · 03/02/2024 18:39

Evening everyone! I’m going to join - 6w3d with a scan booked in for next week.

I am struggling with constant nausea, my god I feel rough as anything. It wakes me up throughout the night as it’s so bad. I definitely wasn’t this sick with Dd.

The food aversions are unreal as well, and as soon as I find something I like I immediately go off of it. So annoying 😂

Have a GP appointment on Monday so hopefully they’ll prescribe something so I can eat again.
