Feeling a bit disappointed today as I went for a sweep and she was unable to do it due to head being too low down :( was really convinced sweep would be a success and she would arrive this weekend!

@MummyTo4BoysXXXX I think DH and I may give it a go this eve to see if it helps us, will certainly be interesting!

@DmcinT I'm going to give sex, birthing ball and a long walk a go. I'm determined to meet this baby soon!!

CheeseAndCrackersx · 01/02/2024 16:19

I think we're all going to be trying sex tonight 🤣

Meeting · 01/02/2024 16:23

@CheeseAndCrackersx fingers crossed it works for at least one of us!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 01/02/2024 16:28

@anony1111 and @MummyTo4BoysXXXX I only had one at under 37 weeks before my induction, so it prob wasn't likely to work!

Ahh sorry they didn't work for you also. Hopefully better this time around

Mumtothreex · 01/02/2024 16:37

@DmcinT It wasn’t really painful it was just uncomfortable really 🤷🏼‍♀️ she said she gave it ‘a proper go’ as well 😂 To be honest I think they will just come when they are ready but was worth a try.

@MummyTo4BoysXXXX Mine were both 9lb 7 which was big for my frame and size. This one isnt measuring as big as I have the GD under control this time x

anony1111 · 01/02/2024 16:44

@DmcinT yeah it's made me feel much better. I don't think they would have booked me in but due to previous big baby and this one measuring big she said we could book it in.
Hopefully you will meet baby before 40 weeks so no need for induction 🤞🏼🙏🏼

Has anyone that has rhesus neg blood and had the anti D been told they will have to stay in hospital after birth a little longer to have the second anti D injection?

Cheetocat · 01/02/2024 16:44

We haven't DTD since the day I conceived on the 31st of May. I had loads of early spotting and bleeding up to 15 weeks and had a MMC the year before so I was terrified. My partner has never even brought it up either so I wouldn't even know how to do it with my body this size and shape. 🤣 Plus I'm so swollen and different down there, watch it be the one thing that works when we finally try.

DmcinT · 01/02/2024 16:45

Haha experiment underway, the feed will be full of babies tomorrow after a night of sex 😅😂

I’ve just done an hr out walking, in to spend the night on my ball so please god it all works, I’m dying to just meet her now 🤗 this weekend would be lovely

@Mumtothreex yeah I think uncomfortable seems to be what most say, oh I hope it starts things for u now 🤞🏽🤞🏽

id a growth scan this morning, baby measuring 7lbs 5 but she said margin of error is about a pound either side so really she could be any weight 😂

Mumtothreex · 01/02/2024 16:55

@DmcinT I had one at 36 weeks and he was 6lb 5 so I imagine about 7.5lb now roughly but have a growth scan at 39+1 if I make it to Monday x

Sunshineclouds11 · 01/02/2024 17:51

I have MW tomorrow, I'm 39 weeks at the weekend I wonder if she'll offer a sweep!
I don't know if I can be bothered with one 😅 does anyone else feel like that?

I want the baby here now I'm so uncomfortable and I just don't know if I can be bothered with someone touching my bits.
Granted a lot do in labour etc but that's different haha

Meeting · 01/02/2024 18:22

Is anyone else having near constant Braxton hicks?

CheeseAndCrackersx · 01/02/2024 18:32

@anony1111 I believe we only get a 2nd if baby is positive blood group

anony1111 · 01/02/2024 18:39

@CheeseAndCrackersx yes baby is positive blood group, I had a blood test which tested baby's blood group

CheeseAndCrackersx · 01/02/2024 19:14

Ah @anony1111 that will be why then. I'm unsure if would make you stay in longer though.

I'm unsure what my bubs blood type is yet cos they haven't introduced that test to wales 😊

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 01/02/2024 19:19

@DmcinT hahaha exactly what I was thinking 😂 well that's how all these babies ended up here in first place anyways so would be ironic 🤣

On a different note, whats everyone having for tea tonight? I cba cooking & tbf nothing that's in really tickles my fancy so going to get a chinease takeaway 🤪

anony1111 · 01/02/2024 19:43

@CheeseAndCrackersx the past 2 midwives have mentioned staying in longer but haven't actually known how long for 🙄 hopefully not too long as I will want to be home for my 6 year old.

I find it crazy how they do everything so different everywhere. Even from trust to trust in the same country.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 01/02/2024 20:23

Can the dad still cut the cord if baby is born by CS?

CharXo · 01/02/2024 20:33

Ladies who have just given birth.. was there anything you packed in your hospital bag that you didn’t use.. or didn’t pack and needed? I just want to triple check everything I’ve packed is what I need 😂

CharXo · 01/02/2024 20:35

@CheeseAndCrackersx yes I’ve been told my partner can cut the cord x

Cheetocat · 01/02/2024 21:07

My partner doesn't want to cut the cord and neither do I so we are leaving it to the experts. 🤣

novamama · 01/02/2024 21:25

@Meeting I do. Since last night. They are nearly constant. Every 2 min or so. They haven't subsided

RachLeeds · 01/02/2024 21:39

My partner is scared to cut the cord too 🤣

RachLeeds · 01/02/2024 21:39

haha it's quite weird when you think about it too much so I genuinely understand, a fleshy tube with three big blood vessels

KayakingBex · 01/02/2024 23:47

I remember the midwife asking that one when she did the birth plan over the phone. I’d had no idea that cutting the cord was even an option and couldn’t ask my other half as he was in a meeting. It’s down as one of us will cut it 😅.

Mangotango39 · 02/02/2024 07:59

can partner cut the cord in a scheduled c section does anyone know?
my partner didn't know it was a thing but I thought it would be nice!
