Started a new thread as the last one is full.
Got my apt letter today for my scan in Jan will be the 11th should be 12w 3D.

@Oatmilk - it is tough but what else cam we do. Have no other choixe but to suffer and keep going. I reflect very very often in the ease of my last pregnancy. Naps when I wanted. Sleep in when I wanted. Just really self centered 😂 now I am lucky to put my feet up for 10mins.

I just think loooooads of women have done, are doing it. And I need to suck it up.
My Nausea is easing up a little the last couple days. So hopefully it goes soon.

16+3.

Ashamed to say not knowing sex is starting to kill me. I think I'll find out with a private scan in a couple days. Sigh.

Of course - main thing is that child is healthy, just annoyed at myself for being capable of feeling gender disappointment.

I am also 16 + 3 today!

Not long and will be 20 week scan. I think we will find out the gender.

We have gone for the Bugaboo donkey 5 for our twins. Including the car seats we paid £1.7k. A lot to outlay but I love to walk so will be very well used. After speaking to other twin mums and just from personal experience I didn’t want a tandem pushchair. I want to be able to see them both at the same time which is also very beneficial for their development being able to look at me or dad.
While they are small enough I plan to put them in a carrycot together but really handy for them to have some where to nap when at families etc.
I looked into the recliner car seats and was told it only adds 30 minutes to the maximum time for a newborn, 2 hours is for when they are older.
Will start adding a pack of nappies and wipes to the weekly shop soon to stock pile

Wow! Some of you are so organised! We haven't got anything yet. We had DD1 pram in storage (iCandy Peach) but she is 11 now so not sure what it is like now. Would be cute to reuse as we have nothing else and will have to get it all from scratch 😳

Bluebonnet3 · 08/02/2024 21:35

Oops! I clearly don't know the formatting shortcuts. Really didn't mean to strike through anything in my last post!

MixedCouple · 08/02/2024 21:37

I am nesting earlier as have the toddler and it makes me anxious not being ready! Won't just be me and a newborn will have a toddler. So organising lots even DS sleep and sleeping arrangments and potty training etc.

We've got the Jane Matrix car seat and will either reuse it or just get a new one. It fits in our pushchair and I really liked it when DS was little. We usually drive back to the UK to see family so need something suitable. I think it's up to 9 months (and then we had a Joie one) but probably depends on the size of the baby.
Luckily, we've got a pretty big car so it fits easily with DS's car seat at the back (Citroen C4 Picasso).

I'm impressed with some of your organisation! I'm planning on getting up to the attic in a month or so and pulling out whatever DS had and hoping for the best. I remember trying to store everything in organised boxes etc but who knows.

We had a Cosatto Giggle 3 set inc car seat (because I wanted a leopard print pram!) and will reuse that with new baby and get a buggy board for my DS who'll be almost 3 when they arrive!

Oatmilktea · 09/02/2024 08:54

You all seem so organised! I haven’t bought one single thing for baby and I’m 17 weeks today! I’ve been very unwell with nausea but luckily I think I’m getting better now.

My sister is kindly giving us her Silver Cross Wave pram system so that’s one thing less to worry about.

We have had an offer accepted on a house, currently in a flat with minimal storage so I’m reluctant to buy too many bulky items before moving in to our new house.

Hope everyone on the thread who’s suffered with nausea and sickness is starting to feel better too!

Cattattack · 09/02/2024 09:46

If you want a comparison to being organised, the room to be the 'nursery' we still need to find a plaster for, in-fact, all the bedrooms need to be replastered 😅i'm refusing to buy anything until we have a room to put bubs' items in!

missmoosh · 09/02/2024 09:50

I have a list of stuff to buy, but not actually got any of it (other than SIL gave us her next to me crib). We need to change our spare bedroom into the office/dressing room area and move DH out of the small room he uses as his office atm. As we want that to be the nursery, then we need to decorate it!

Oatmilktea · 09/02/2024 10:57

That’s reassuring that there are others who aren’t super organised too!

What will be the nursery in our new house is currently painted a nice shade of pink so if we are having a girl at least that’s saved us a job 🤣

Bluebonnet3 · 09/02/2024 12:06

With my first I didn't buy anything for ages, definitely not by where I am now (19 w). Maybe more towards 30w+. But this time around I can use most of it again. With a few new clothes if it's a girl.

I need to sort out my DS's sleeping soon. He is 14 months and co-sleeping at the moment and won't sleep in his cotbed. I'd like to get him sleeping in his bed in his own room before the new baby arrives. I need to move our bedroom into the next room over (currently an office / sitting room). And set up our current bedroom as my DS's room.

Had 16 week midwife appointment. Didn't listen to the heartbeat and in and out in 10 mins. Just checked CO2 and blood pressure. She discussed preference re:VBAC and ELC and told me she will see me again at 28 weeks.
Also in my area you cannot use maternity triage until you're 28 weeks any earlier and you use EPU.
Disappointed to not hear heartbeat but have private scan tomorrow at least.

CMG92 · 09/02/2024 16:38

@Oatmilktea im 17weeks today also and still feel so sick 🥲 started some new medication but they are making me very sleepy! I think we will start looking at bits after our 20week scan. I’m pleased you are starting to feel better x

TooHappyToday · 09/02/2024 17:39

I had my 16 week appointment today as well, my midwife did listen in after I asked her to. Have a scan next week as well. And got the dates for my 20 week scan, 24 week appointment and glucose test.

Morningcoffeeaddict · 09/02/2024 18:36

16 week consultant appointment was good - very glad I stuck to my guns on choosing my consultant! Was in there for over an hour, but there was a midwife who repeated all my history and midwife checks and did the heartbeat again (nice as DH was there so got to hear). Consultant talked me through her plan and explained everything really well / was really patient with questions. Booked in for monthly appointments with her so I’ll see her or my community midwife fortnightly and monthly scans as well as requested a fetal medicine scan. She also mentioned I’m on open access for the antenatal clinic so anytime I’m worried I can just turn up and ask for her and a check up with triage - hopefully won’t need to but very reassuring. She’s also re-run my bloods as they were borderline at booking to see if they’ve moved. Busy appointment!

wannabe123 · 09/02/2024 21:11

@Morningcoffeeaddict @TooHappyToday glad to hear you felt your appointment was productive.

I feel like I've had busy pregnancy admin day. I got a phone call at lunch time from my local hospital telling me about when my consultant appointment will be. Hopefully it'll be straight after my 20 week appointment as my consultant is on call. Otherwise I'll have to go back the next day when she's running a clinic and I'll be seen then. They also said they were going to send a referral to fetal medicine because my little boy was born with congenital heart disease (was moderate then mild now very mild/possibly healed).
Then just as I was driving out of work, I got a phone call from fetal medicine asking me to go to an appointment on Tuesday. We're away on holiday then so we're getting seen on Thursday (don't get back until Wednesday!) and it's a 2 hour drive to get there. Thankfully managed to sort childcare and a bit of a plan. I'm hoping everything will be fine but the risk of a baby being born with CHD is much higher if they have a sibling that has also been born with it. I'm trying not to panic that they have processed our referral so quickly and trying to focus on the excitement of seeing baby a week early.
Feels a lot to process when it's also my little boy's 3rd birthday today and we've been packing to go away!

Morningcoffeeaddict · 09/02/2024 21:17

@wannabe123 - gosh that is a busy day! Hope your little boy had a lovely birthday and you have a wonderful trip away too.
Fingers crossed that baby is well and no issues, sometimes the doctors do surprise us with their efficiency at these things but better that they check and hopefully find nothing to worry about! Try to enjoy your holiday without thinking too much about it in the meantime!

wannabe123 · 10/02/2024 05:00

@Morningcoffeeaddict thanks! It's one of those things. I don't think about DS heart condition at all because it has never been symptomatic, he's never needed treatment, it was just picked up during a routine check up when he was 10 weeks old. I only ever worry when there's an appointment coming up! I read one stat that said babies have a 1:100 chance of being born with a heart condition but it's 1:50 if they have a sibling with a heart condition!

Morningcoffeeaddict · 10/02/2024 07:42

@wannabe123 - my friends DD was the same with her heart, problem picked up at a baby check but it’s never caused her any problems and it fixed itself. She’s 12 now but I don’t know about siblings for them as they just had the one. I’m sure LO will be just fine - like you say it’s one of those things they have to check

ceruleansky · 10/02/2024 08:57

Got my NIPT results back and I'm low risk for everything. No complaints today! 😊 I've started wishlisting baby things. 👶

Chloemac · 10/02/2024 09:47

Hi, I’m 16 weeks and 3 days pregnant with my second child, my first is 10 years old so a big age gap!! I’ve had a few miscarriages within the last 2 years and I am worrying a lot in this pregnancy! I’ve felt a few flutters but it’s not a daily occurrence is this normal? I think I just need some reassurance

Nocoffeenotalkie · 10/02/2024 12:27

Had our gender scan. They were very fidgety and it took an hour! They crossed their legs, tucked them under their bum and covered their bits with their hand 😂 but she persevered...it's another girl!

CB2805 · 10/02/2024 12:28

Ladies does any of you feel super wet down there? (Sorry tmi) I’m wearing a panty liner and it doesn’t seem to be damp but I have a horrible feeling of wetness all the time that I need to wipe it with a tissue🙈

Not this time, but I did with my first child. Asked the consultant as I was seeing them about something else, and they said it’s very normal.
