Out of interest, does it sound ridiculous to you because you'd never heard it before? Or is it because of the letter combo? I think maybe that t-w-y looks a bit off in English to a lot of people, as it's not a common combination.

Well I’m going against the grain. I have an 8 month old Twyla and yes we had raised eyebrows from grandparents but she suits her name and couldn’t be anything else. Yes she is named after Schitts Creek 😂I let dh decide and he chose this.

i thought it was quite a usual name, and wondered why you thought it was ‘out there.’ clearly the majority of pp agree with you though. I wouldn’t think twice about it if I was introduced to a Twyla, it’s just an ordinary name.

I don't mind a weird name but that's doesn't roll off the tongue at all. I think your daughter will constantly be repeating herself

I'm afraid I think of Twyla as quite an ugly name. I don't know whether it's as ugly as I think, or whether it's just a reflection of how really ugly Tharp is as the surname that immediately goes with it in my head.
