Couldn't see another and the old one is full. Will copy the list from the last one, the tags are really temperamental though and it definitely has quite a few people missing sorry 🙈

Baby sticks bum out for me too, been permanently on my right side for about 8 weeks!

@lilluce95 I really feel for you with the UTI, I had the same thing at 28 weeks and that back pain (and stomach cramping for me) was horrific, I packed myself a bag because I thought I might be in early labour! The paracetamol and antibiotics worked for me right away strangely, but midwife did say you can use the sachets of cranberry in water as well. Hopefully it’ll just go away today. Rest up x

@Vikki7 hi! Sorry about your driving test, I can totally sympathise, I failed my first 2 and got myself in a proper tizz as well, I think learning to drive is one of the most terrifying things. You will pass though and it will get easier believe it or not!

I’m another one doing the positive birth company course. Well I’m only 17% through 😂 but I do plan to finish it soon. Going to get some dates today heheh!

suz2285 · 08/12/2023 06:43

@RaspberryTime I had covid last week, it was more like a cold for me, like you say the guidance seems very 2020 still with 'worries' re the third tri; but all the advice I got was just to treat it like a virus, rest, hydrate and take paracetamol, I didn't have a high temp or anything but I've also had multiple vaccines, so I'm not sure if that helped too

If you're worried ask your midwife? But I think the guidance now is that it's not something to panic about, I feel fine this week, prob took 4/5 days to fully get over it, and baby was moving around as normal so was just trying not to worry about it 🤞🤞

Sambeaumont · 08/12/2023 07:09

Pregnancy insomnia is in full force. Hardly slept in days 😴 xx

suz2285 · 08/12/2023 07:20

@Sambeaumont same over here!

AshleyCali2Uk · 08/12/2023 07:27

31 week ultrasound this morning for DD. Plus blood work for my thyroid and low iron I keep having. Hopefully the blood work comes back with good results this time.

Onedayatatime24 · 08/12/2023 07:53

Insomnia here too! Finally got to sleep and horrific heartburn woke me up at 3am 😮‍💨 can't wait for the next two weeks to be over so I can nap!

lilluce95 · 08/12/2023 08:08

@sashastuck baby's bum has been sticking out on my right side too! 😂 ahh thank you so much that's reassuring. The pain has definitely subsided a little bit but not completely gone yet x

lilluce95 · 08/12/2023 08:09

@Onedayatatime24 same here! The heartburn is horrid at the moment, I've found sleeping sitting up really helps (as inconvenient as it is!)

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 08/12/2023 08:48

@1992H ahh no so sorry what an awful sounding cleanup. Hopefully it all came out.

@lilluce95 hope you're feeling better soon.

@Vikki7 sorry about your driving test. I passed mine years ago, but still can't park well 🙈 you will get there.

Re induction, I know I said it before on here, but I had one at 37 weeks (the gel, pessary and drip) and it was a positive experience. No interventions or forceps etc. Quick recovery. My sisters have both had them and had the same, and so have a couple of friends. I was petrified from hearing the stories on here but it was okay. I still did my hypnobirthing etc for it and listened to downloaded meditations.

My one non negotiable is I'm petrified of throwing up, so anti emetics were the key thing on my birth plan. The rest I was flexible on as I just didn't know, but was clear I wanted discussion as to why any intervention might have been needed etc. And I wanted delayed cord clamping and skin to skin.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 08/12/2023 08:51

I'll prob do a similar birth plan again this time. Open to everything but please discuss with me before and let me decide. Want skin to skin, delayed clamping, vit K. Prefer to start with no pain relief and see how I get on, but then open to suggestions and any pain relief if needed!

I think you just never know

Bims2019 · 08/12/2023 09:16

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 this is really helpful thank you, I've been trying to keep an open mind about inductions but you hear so many negative stories.

My birth plan sounds similar to yours as well. Apologies if you've said, are you having another induction this time round?

Mummyme87 · 08/12/2023 09:31

I need to write a birth plan. It’s in my head but not on paper.
optimal cord clamping - don’t clamp until white, skin to skin, active third stage (if in pool will move myself to have the injection immediately due to prev massive haemorrhage), if on dry land warm compresses on perineum (due to prev 3rd degree tear), do not offer pain relief (I will ask for it), use the pool if available and monitoring satisfactory, UFO positions, dim lighting, will bring diffuser and battery tea lights, and use BRAIN to help in any decision making. For baby… Vit K injection, breastfeeding, no hat unless concerns.

those are my basic things off the top of my head. I will have some other bits like no students (because I work there and it’s not appropriate), no big ward rounds (minimal people - no observers/med students/3000 anaesthetists), i am open to everything but my ideal is keeping it as normal as possible in the circumstances and need a lot of support to do that.

will take with me TENS, diffuser oils, tea lights, bouncy balls (for DH to roll on my lower back rather than his hand which causes friction), oat heat pack.

Onedayatatime24 · 08/12/2023 09:34

@lilluce95 I've been propping myself up which helps with heartburn and then my back hurts. But when I sleep on my side, my hips/pelvis hurts! think I've tried about 100 different cushion combinations and none seem to satisfy all three of back/heartburn/hips. DH asked me the other night if I was building a fort 😂

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 Really nice to hear about positive inductions. All I've read has been negative which is scary considering how often they happen! It's been the one thing I've been really unsure on.

suz2285 · 08/12/2023 09:49

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I've also got anti emetics on my birth plan as I'm terrified of being sick also... 🙈 and others being sick but not much I can do about that!

I'm glad to hear you had a positive induction, I've also heard a lot of bad stories but also a few good ones seems to depend on if baby is ready to come or not!

lilluce95 · 08/12/2023 10:02

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 thank you! 💕

@Onedayatatime24 hahaha it really is difficult isn't it! I do wonder if we'll actually get better sleep quality once the babies have arrived 🤣

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 08/12/2023 10:13

@PartRadish gosh you're going to have so much on your plate! Hopefully middle child is very helpful! Sounds like you'll be taking it in your stride, so I'll take some inspiration from that.

@Bims2019 I actually wanted an induction this time around, but as I don't have gestational diabetes (yet) this time around, they've said they won't be doing it. I think maybe just because it's what I know. I'm scared this time of figuring out when labour might happen, being worried going into London in case my waters break, or knowing when to go in etc. There was something comforting about being monitored.

@Mummyme87 thank you for that list! There's so many aspects I haven't thought of and might think about adding

Mummyme87 · 08/12/2023 10:18

I’ve had two IOLs and they were fine. Fairly quick as started contracting straight away and pessary only in for 12-16hours both times. It’s a huge intervention that potentially caused other problems but the induction itself was fine. You need to make sure your expectations are right though, so many women think the aim is to put them into labour and it will be done in a day… the aim is to change your cervix enough to be able to break your waters and can take 3-4days before labour starts. You can be prepared, bring food, books, films, have your tool box of things to help you through if in pain, earplugs, your own pillow. You aren’t stuck on a monitor the whole time, sometimes you can go home or have outpatient IOL depending on trust guidelines (of course you can always go against guidelines, they are only guidelines). They aren’t all bad, have your head in the right place for it, and anything better than that is a bonus.

Luhou · 08/12/2023 10:18

@Mummyme87 thanks for the birth plan thoughts interesting to see a midwives prospective. Out of interest why no hat? Just curious!

Mummyme87 · 08/12/2023 10:20

@Luhou the evidence is against hats as interferes with the hormones between mum and baby, goes against thermoregulation when skin to skin with mum, and interferes with breastfeeding. Mum should be able to sniff and kiss baby’s head.

Mummyme87 · 08/12/2023 10:21

@Luhou this is obviously different if you have a low birth weight baby, preterm or unwell baby as obviously they struggle to maintain temperature. But the vast majority of babies don’t fall into this category

Luhou · 08/12/2023 10:34

@Mummyme87 that's interesting! Thanks for thr info. I haven't done mine yet. Or my hospital bag. Or christmas shopping. New kitchen delivered this morning. 🙈

Mummyme87 · 08/12/2023 10:49

no hospital bag here either, Christmas shopping almost finished (off to town now to get a few more bits), I’ve put the lights on the tree this morning as a start to decs… and no bloody car sorted yet!!! Gahh

Mummyme87 · 08/12/2023 10:51

This is my 34+6 bump today. I do wonder if he’s on the move, he moved alot yesterday like big movements and feels different today, palpates different and movements feel different. Fingers crossed he’s trying to get his head down.

Due January - Part 9!
Luhou · 08/12/2023 10:54

@Mummyme87 looking great. Hoping to claim some time back from work today and go shopping this afternoon.

Eek, from memory where you looking at a skoda? Just FYI if you were there's a national 0% APR event that's started as of today.

Mummyme87 · 08/12/2023 10:57

@Luhou no need bigger than Skoda, probably a 2-5yr old Volvo xc90
