We had a 4D scan on Monday and now know it's definately a girl (they showed us the bits-or lack of!), so who's got some lovely bright ideas for some lovely lovely girls names??
We already have a Grace and it has to go with the surname of Foster. Oh, and the main one we are thinking of is Olivia, with Elsa as a middle name in memory of hubby's grandma who was Elsie, but we didn't like that!
Thinking caps on girls....

We like Francesca, Catherine, Maddelyn and Juliet

I also like Veronica, Claire, Vanessa, Allegra, Arwen and Mia. There are also a bunch of names that I love that are horrible with our surname - Maia, Mariah, Layla, Lila

slinkiemalinki · 12/03/2008 11:12

Olivia is lovely.

seeker · 12/03/2008 11:15

I am going to say Clemency on every girl's name thread until I wear somebody down......!

Hopeysgirlwasntbig · 12/03/2008 11:17

Olivia is lovely

My DD is called Niamh

I was torn between

Olivia
Niamh
Tamsin
Evie
Imogen

EmmaKateLouise · 12/03/2008 12:55

Niamh is lovely, but my DH thought Olivia started with the letter 'A' so I think Niamh is a complete no-goer unfortunately!

Oooo I really like Maia too. Presume that's pronounced 'May-a'?? Oh wow, just realised that she's due in May too! Perfect!

I really liked Madeline (or any spelling variation) but whenever I hear the name now all I can think of is a little girl who went missing.

MrsBadger · 12/03/2008 13:00

Maia can also be pronounced My-a

seeker · 12/03/2008 13:19

Time I said Clemency again! I've got a 12 year old Grace and she still likes being called it, so good choice.

PrePG · 12/03/2008 13:38

I would pronounce Maia as MrsBadger says.

Ella is sooooo boring. Its Cinderella without the glamour har har. i really don't understand the current popularity of it, i really don't.

finallypregnant · 12/03/2008 13:55

Each to their own and all that. I probably wouldn't like the names you picked either. That's what makes us all different!

Fliss is pretty. I do like that.

Flum · 12/03/2008 13:56

I don't hate it. Its sweet, i just don't understand why it is top of the hit parade. It is round here anyway.

largeginandtonic · 12/03/2008 13:59

Meggle i LOVE the name Felicity, it is high on our list.

Seeker Clemency is also lovely >

I like Dolly Violet and have said it quite a bit recently DH is having none of it so someone else must pick it

LilyToTheB · 12/03/2008 14:01

Thought I'd add to this thread the names I'm thinking of..

Lily, Hollie, Daisy, Ava, Freya, Megan.
I think Olivia is lovely too!

I would love to have a girl as there are so many girls names I like and relatively few boys. I have a funny feeling mine will be a boy though, so pillage this list!

Amelie
Ava
Sophia
Grace
Lyra
Rosie/Rose
Anna
Aurelia
Chloe

Hmm, can't think of any more just now... ;) The Greek myths have some gorgeous female names. Lucky you!

largeginandtonic · 12/03/2008 14:40

Im sorry Meggle i cant wait, am trying now...

Carey87 · 12/03/2008 14:45

I really like the name Isabella but then I also like Katie so I thought of Katie Isabella if were having a girl, and that fact the surname is Smart = KIS
