We had a 4D scan on Monday and now know it's definately a girl (they showed us the bits-or lack of!), so who's got some lovely bright ideas for some lovely lovely girls names??
We already have a Grace and it has to go with the surname of Foster. Oh, and the main one we are thinking of is Olivia, with Elsa as a middle name in memory of hubby's grandma who was Elsie, but we didn't like that!
Thinking caps on girls....

Bertha, or Gert.

Carey87 Katie Isabella is such a pretty name!!! Cute for the baby/little girl stage and then you/she can take either/both name(s) for when she is older!!!

I found this link that shows popularity of the name/whether they were bullied/how people feel about being called the name....

Unfortunately, I am not using my favourite name Chiara because so many people are saying they would constantly have to spell it and my RL name has an unusual spelling which has caused me nothing but problems anytime I have to complete paperwork/passport/legal docs/ANYTHING!!!! AND people think having an "unusual" spelling where I live say you are "weird". Nice...

I don't think the H makes it clear - well it doesn't to me, but maybe I'm just thick. I wouldn't know how to say Mahya - I'd probably say Mar -yar but know I was wrong.

Olivia is lovely.

jellies · 13/03/2008 09:50

Ailsa Olivia?

keevamum · 13/03/2008 09:52

My DD1 is called Keeva which is a gaelic name spelt Caiomhe but we anglicized it. I think it is the most beautiful name but obviously don't want to sell it too much as we love the fact its so unusual. However, Keeva has decided she doesn't like it! Hopefully she will when she is older. Other DD is Louie. I also love the names Lola, Rose, Frances, Erin and Maia. Good luck with agreeing with hubby.

Our DD born in Jan is Elsa. We'd debated lots of other names but Elsa just seemed right at the time. Olivia is lovely too.

SilverSixpence · 13/03/2008 18:12

haven't read it all so don't know if it's been suggested - but i love the name Sylvia
