Hiya, so I did 2 tests yesterday both postive, did one today after work (still in shock) waited for the pregnant to pop up and it said no pregnant (all clear blue tests). Is it possible the negative is wrong? I spoke to the doctor and she said "well looks like you was, and now arnt"
I'm not bleeding or anything. Boobs are sore and 3 days late. I'm just so confused and kinda upset now. I mentioned to the doctor about being at work and drinking lots of fluids today is that why it would come back negative but she said she's never heard of that happening. Opinions please. 😔 😟

It could be that your urine was more dilute. Try again in the morning. Good luck

Highland261012 · 15/11/2023 20:26

Thank you. That's what I said to the doctor but she said she'd never heard of it happening before it shouldn't matter xxx

Completely depends how much you drink. If you drink like a fish like I do, I pee so often there would be no time for the hcg to build up.
See what the morning brings

Highland261012 · 15/11/2023 20:32

I was up at 4 work at 7, had 2 coffees, hotchocolate, glass of milk, and a bottle of coke before 1. Tested about 1.30 and peed alot haha! It was how harsh the doctor was, I'd rang originally because I'm on medication for anxiety and sleep. She read what the manufacturer recommends and said but we haven't tested on pregnant woman so it's up to you if you wish to continue. Thats when I told her and she said well you was, and arnt now. Xx

The doctor sounds clueless.
Yes the test can be false negative if your urine is too diluted (I.e not holding long enough and drinking lots)
Try again in the morning, you'll have an accurate result then.
Good luck 👍

Highland261012 · 15/11/2023 20:49

Thank you. It's just really Confused me getting 2 postives yesterday and a negative today. Xx

Yeah she was really quite harsh. I've not had a baby for 11 years, had bad pre-eclampsia with the last one. Both was really ill and had a c section, 2 months early. So I'm scared as it is the doctor really didn't help xx

Your doctor sounds delightful (and stupid)

This is probably because of dilute urine, and you'll very likely get another positive result tomorrow.
I hope so anyway.

ttcsolomumtobe · 15/11/2023 20:53

Search "bumps medication in pregnancy" in Google. Hopefully your meds will be listed there. The honest truth is none will have been tested on a pregnant woman, would be such a kick off if so but it has been found that some meds can have an effect or do transfer via the placenta.

My GP told me all he will safely say has no effect, that isn't pregnancy meds is gavison and paracetamol. I went to boots to get some hydration sachets thinking they would be good if I start to be sick and throwing up but none of those, even the children's ones are labelled pregnancy safe.

Re the test, as others have said diluted pee can make a massive difference. Good luck for retesting x

You’re on medication for anxiety and sleep but you have so much caffeine, and that’s just in the morning. That can’t be helping you.

Would do as PP said and test first thing.
I think it’s really unusual to get a false positive so think you are highly likely to be pregnant. Fingers crossed for you.

TolkiensFallow · 15/11/2023 20:56

Definitely sounds like dilute wee. You need a strong wee.

Highland261012 · 15/11/2023 21:02

I didn't sleep much last night with mind in over drive, was up at 4am had a coffee about half 4 and one at 7.30 when I got to work. Then a coke zero with dinner. The doctor just didn't seem bothered regardless. It's just really confused the life out of me. Xxx

I'm not having a caffeine and I'm up most nights for a few hours... Cutting down the caffeine or switching to decaf could help

Highland261012 · 15/11/2023 21:10

Thank you ladies, will do another test, with me only being 3 days late to my friend said about the dilute but with the doctor saying otherwise I wanted to ask some more opinions. Thank you for your responses 🙏 🩵🥰

Hiya ladies. Been busy. Did another test this morning a faint line shown (unless I have line eye) xxx

Dobt use blue dye tests, they're rubbish!

Get a frer

SwordToFlamethrower · 16/11/2023 13:05

Yeah I see the line!

fgjhb · 16/11/2023 13:09

The test from this morning looks very very faint. At 4 days late I would generally expect to see a stronger line than this. It could be a possibility that you're having a very early pregnancy loss, but I agree with other posters that the blue line tests aren't great. Try a pink FRER tomorrow morning.
