@suz2285 I measured on the 90th centile at my 28 week appt, midwife didn't seem concerned and said they mainly want to see the progression over the next few weeks. Will be interesting to see what happens at my 31 week appointment, like you I don't think my bump is big at all and everyone keeps saying it's very neat 🙄 love the unsolicited comments! The fundal measurement seems so inaccurate anyway though from what others have said.

Thanks all for clothing recommendations! I love the sound of the Hello cardigan @MrsJ6921, I haven't bought any yet. We have lot of clothes from a friend so I need to start going through that and washing it, just want to make sure we have enough of the basics. Hats is another thing I haven't bought!

So tempted to buy Christmas outfits just in case, but trying to reign in the spending 😂

suz2285 · 25/10/2023 13:18

@Bims2019 also being told I'm 'neat' which I like better than omg you're massive tbh!

The progression on my line is really linear, same curve, and I've already had one growth scan at 25 weeks which put him down a bit from the line on my chart! So this second one is because the progression is still on the top line.. but yeah not accurate! See what the scan says, he does seem to have a big head and be a long baby so 🤷‍♀️😂 he's been measuring big since conception, my due date was moved forward by a week at the 12 week scan

I don't have any more midwife appointments for a month now so least after this scan I should get a month of being left alone 😂

Gremlin84 · 25/10/2023 13:48

Had my first experience of someone touching the bump without permission - was chatting to someone else and then all of a sudden there this person was with their hand on my belly reaching around from the side going "oh you're really looking pregnant now aren't you!" It's someone I know but still...it was all a bit weird that she was interrupting me talking to someone else with the assumption it was OK to fondle parts of my body. Didn't quite know how to respond.

Salamander91 · 25/10/2023 14:19

I have far too many clothes. We were trying for years plus I have some saved from my older children so I easily have 20 sleepsuits in each size 😅I do tend to have reflux babies though so they'll likely be needed lol

I got my first pair of lovall leggings today. I'm completely converted! Well worth the money.

Lightningrain · 25/10/2023 14:34

I’ve got 6 sleepsuits in newborn, 6 in 0-1 month and a handful in 0-3 months. We’re team yellow which has definitely stopped me from going mad buying things. I have a pack of plain white bodysuits in both sizes too plus a few extras that came in sets.

I had a growth scan last week when I went in for reduced movements and baby seems to be right on 50th centile at 29 weeks. The fundal measurement that the midwife did the week before was showing exactly 28 weeks as well so I’m hoping it’s not wildly inaccurate.

Is anyone else noticing baby’s movements a lot more now? Over the last couple of days I’ve been noticing a lot more (previously it had only been when I sat or laid down for a good chunk of time). I’m finding it reassuring (apart from the day last week where I hadn’t felt anything from getting up until 2pm so ended up in triage!)

I’ve just got a pair of the Lovall maternity winter leggings and I’m loving them. Perfect for walking the dog although I now want more pairs!

Luhou · 25/10/2023 15:04

Anybody not been measured at their 28 week appointment?

WitcheryDivine · 25/10/2023 15:06

I just realised today that the baby is supposed to double in weight between 30 and 40 weeks. DOUBLE. I mean.

Mummyme87 · 25/10/2023 15:12

@Luhou yes no measuring because we don’t do it. We do however have routine 36week growth scans. Do you have any growth scans booked?

@WitcheryDivine my DS2 was 2.7kg at 37weeks and 4.5kg 3weeks later 🥴 I’m expecting this one to put on another 3kg before he’s born which is horrifying really as feeling enormous. People keep asking when I’m due and can’t believe I’m only 28weeks. I now say my gestation quickly followed by ‘and I have the perfect bump size’ to stop the comments

WitcheryDivine · 25/10/2023 15:29

omg @Mummyme87 that was some fast growth! Yes as a first timer the thought of lumbering around with an extra 3kg is genuinely quite frightening.

Luhou · 25/10/2023 15:43

Thanks @Mummyme87. I have a 32 week scan booked and a clinic appointment at the same time.

Mushroo · 25/10/2023 15:59

@WitcheryDivine its mad isn’t it! There’s no room!! 😂

Mummyme87 · 25/10/2023 16:56

@Luhou you don’t need fundal height done at all then 👌🏻

LittleAlien24 · 25/10/2023 17:58

@Hummusanddipdip probably yes because ob did say he's in perfect position for birth

@suz2285 can't really help with the size of the baby on charts etc thing because they don't do it here, well not so far. Only thing they tell me is his weight and is it ok or not and measuring him to see is it ok for the weeks im at lol
@Gremlin84 i know the feeling. Someone from my DH family gave me a hug and suddenly put hand on my belly and asking oh how is he doing. I felt quite uncomfortable and like you didn't know how to respond. Yet i had other incident where we were visiting my DH friends (I've seen them only 2 times before) and i was sitting on the couch and i can't remember how it came up or what was said but my DH friend suddenly ran to me from the hallway, put his hand on my belly and was like oh is he moving. That moment i just laughed because the way he ran and was excited was just funny even tho his wife told him not to do it that not everyone likes their belly touched.

@Salamander91 i know the feeling. Also were trying for years so now when it finally happened im just going a bit overboard lol

@WitcheryDivine i was just saying that to my daughters yesterday that he's now developed and putting up weight and it's going to be a lot quickly 😁 girls said he's extra baking lol

Sambeaumont · 25/10/2023 18:16

Yes that was my DD’s favourite resting spot for her feet. For the last few weeks one was wedged in my rib cage. I couldn’t sit upright without feeling it dig in it was awful.

I have a really short body so will undoubtedly have the same this time once she’s a bit bigger.

Sambeaumont · 25/10/2023 18:47

@buckingmad . It's really uncomfortable and at times painful. I'm only 29 weeks so a long way to go yet xx

Lilothblos · 25/10/2023 18:54

@Luhou oh that JoJo set is gorgeous!! Very tempted..

Onedayatatime24 · 25/10/2023 22:04

I'm definitely feeling baby more the last week or so, some kicks/punches have even hurt a bit! I think he's sat right on my bladder as I'm feeling every hiccup there at the moment. 😂 we have a growth scan tomorrow at 28+4 and then another at the end of Nov when I'll be around 32 weeks. Guessing I'll get another at 36 weeks too? So excited to see how he's growing! Also my midwife wants to see me every two weeks from now 😳 not sure if this is a high BMI thing though as she said they'll basically just check urine and blood pressure.

I've bought quite a few cute clothes but not much practical. We've had a couple friends offer their 0-3 bits too recently which is lovely. Need to sort through everything and figure out if we're missing anything.

Salamander91 · 26/10/2023 15:14

I had another growth scan today at 30+1 baby is 3lb 8oz which is 50th centile. I make big babies so this is weird for me 😂he is breech again which the doctor said could be why movements are less somedays because breech movements feel different. He said the aim for my section is 38 weeks so max 8 weeks left for me!

PartRadish · 26/10/2023 15:27

@Salamander91 That last sentence has just blown my tiny mind slightly 😂 How are we at the stage where the weeks are single figures until babies are going to being here!? I think I need a lie down 😆

OP posts:
WitcheryDivine · 26/10/2023 15:28

I'm surprised some medical types are bothered about the positioning at the moment. I'm 30+1 and earlier it was clear the right side was sticking out massively, 10 minutes later it was the left side. Some days all the big movements are at the top, the next day they're all at the bottom. So I expect they're still swinging around in there.

hahaha right?????

Lightningrain · 26/10/2023 15:37

The sonographer at my growth scan said they aren’t at all concerned about baby being breech at this point (I was 28+6). He said there’s still so much space for babies to move around for another few weeks yet.

Mine had been transverse up to that point with left lateral placenta. Baby had moved to breech position and the placenta is now anterior which explains why I’d felt a change in movements. I’m feeling movements quite low down now which is very strange!

Mummyme87 · 26/10/2023 15:44

I get loads of low down movements but baby is cephallic, must be his hands. No need to worry about baby’s presentation until 36weeks, even after that they can move on their own albeit less likely particularly in FTMs

was up for over an hour last night with horrible palpitations. My heart felt like it was coming out of my mouth.

Salamander91 · 26/10/2023 16:07

@PartRadish right?! I'm not prepared at all 😂

He wasn't concerned about him being breech at all just mentioned it. I'm having a csection anyway so doesn't matter either way for me.
