Anyone here in a similar position? I'm feeling a bit of an odd one out on forums now where I don't feel pregnant pregnant and I don't feel infertile infertile, and thought I'd see if others were in the same, tentative situation. I don't feel like I'm ready to join the main May 2024 gang until I'm more confident this will continue.

I'm only 4 weeks 5 days :/

Hi ladies, nice to read your updates 🙂

I thought I'd let you know I had my scan at the IVF clinic today (6+6). Two sacs were confirmed and we saw two heartbeats 🥹 so far everything measuring as it should! So it's twins for us ☺️ tell me about it feeling unreal!!

Hope you're doing well, I'm feeling noxious all the time, tired in the afternoon in particular, cramping and all kinds of other pains but altogether not too bad 🙂

Hope everyone's doing well xx

TheBirdintheCave · 26/09/2023 17:45

@Summerishere83 Aww congrats! :)

Misty84 · 26/09/2023 18:03

Wow @Summerishere83, twins!! Congratulations!

thislittlebird · 26/09/2023 18:17

@CazzyM1983 oh god, dizziness sounds lame! I've gone from constantly hungry to constant, mild nausea. I'm drinking peppermint tea!

12 week scan, wow, must feel very real! Carrying a file around is cracking me up.

@KG1244 I really, really hope so! We've had enough setbacks. I'm quite worried about the scan next week at 6.5. I have symptoms, my HCG was high, but can't stop worrying it'll end before or there.

I've never even heard of a booking appointment until now, when does that happen? And does anyone know at what point you have to get into the Rhesus negative blood type stuff? I'll (hopefully) need that injection(s?) at some stage.

@Summerishere83 congrats! How exciting! Didn't you think it might only be one? Did you have particularly early symptoms?

@Summerishere83 ahhh wow!! Congratulations, that is magical 😊

@TheBirdintheCave I'm the same, my clinic keep asking me to register for the booking visit but I just can't

I actually don't have any symptoms, I feel so healthy🤣I hope it's not a bad sign

KG1244 · 26/09/2023 18:49

@CazzyM1983 ok that sounds manageable but a lot to go through! @Misty84 wow! That is long…. Do they do blood pressure and blood test too?

@TheBirdintheCave Tbh, I’m really apprehensive about doing it but I just wanted a date for my 12 week scan to work towards. Just do it when you’re ready though ❤️

KG1244 · 26/09/2023 18:51

@Summerishere83 omg congrats! You must have been so surprised! I’m guessing they implanted two embryos?

@thislittlebird I had no idea either! I got two messages from the hospital about appointments at different dates and was so confused. My booking appointment will be at about 9 weeks roughly. What is this injection you mention? Not heard about that although I feel so clueless at the moment. When I’m ready, perhaps after my 12 week scan, I might buy a book or two to read.

KG1244 · 26/09/2023 18:53

@Halsi how far along are you? Don’t worry about, I only recently started getting proper symptoms and some people are just very lucky and don’t get any at all!

Halsi · 26/09/2023 19:01

@KG1244 I'm 8 weeks, I have a scan tomorrow so can see of all going OK. I'll probably book one every week at this rate🤣

thislittlebird · 26/09/2023 19:03

@KG1244 at what point did you tell your GP? I’m waiting until after next week’s scan right now. And yeah 12 weeks feels like a good time to get informed. So at some point midwives will test your blood type in case you’re rhesus negative, if your baby is positive it can cause issues. Info here:

https://www.nhsinform.scot/healthy-living/screening/pregnancy/your-blood-count-blood-group-and-rhesus-status

If you aren’t then you don’t have to worry about it, but I tested my blood type in the last year because I knew my grandmother was rhesus negative and at the time (late 1940s) she was advised not to have more than one child because of it. Nowadays they have an anti-D injection you have to have to counteract the issues, but obviously I know my husband is A+ and I’m A- so any baby of ours could be A+ so I know I’ll have to have the injections at some stage.

Your blood count, blood group and Rhesus status

During your pregnancy you'll have a blood test to find out your blood count, blood group and Rhesus status. Find out how your results can affect the health of your baby.

@Halsi good luck with the scan, I want to get past the first one so I can book hopefully reassuring stuff like that.

ASGIRC · 26/09/2023 19:12

Hey everyone!

Im a bit farther along than most of you, with my due date being in early April, as opposed to late!
As of my dating scan today, I am 12+6 (based on the IVF calculator I am 12+4, but now it is officially changed!)

It was my first FET, with a donor embryo.

Unlike most of you, I could not WAIT to stop the medication, at 12 weeks! I was over it by the second week, and really could not stand those pessaries anymore!
Also... theres very little evidence it actually does much, particularly after a few weeks.

Anyway! Try not to worry too much! Your placenta will be producing progesterone by itself!

Halsi · 26/09/2023 19:25

Thanks @thislittlebird. Yes it's definately compulsive to see what's going on in there. Just a little over a week to go for yours now 😊

Welcome @ASGIRC! That is brilliant you're coming into your second trimester. How are you feeling?

KG1244 · 26/09/2023 19:26

@ASGIRC thank you lovely. How have you been feeling? Lower back pain started up again for me. Have you had that?

@thislittlebird I haven’t told my gp yet. I need to go there and give them the discharge form from the clinic. I just self referred myself to my local hospital on their website. Thank you for the info about the blood type - had no idea so that’s really helpful.

@Halsi lots of luck for your scan ❤️

ASGIRC · 26/09/2023 19:53

@Halsi Honestly? Not great! LOL
Obviously it is amazing that everything is going well with the baby, but being pregnant is not my favourite. My symptoms have been very mild, but I stopped enjoying food, and dont feel like eating anything, ever. So Its a bit of a miserable existence!! I cant drink wine, and now dont even enjoy my food???? Cruel and unusual punishment!!!

Good luck for your scan tomorrow!

@KG1244 I have had lower back pain for years (I am well old, see?), and I cant say it is any worse at the moment. I need to go get my back cracked at some point, to alleviate it, but since it isnt clear if it is ok to do in 1st trimester or nor, I decided to hold off!!

CazzyM1983 · 26/09/2023 21:12

@Summerishere83 congratulations! Glad it’s all going well! Wow two! How wonderful to see the heartbeat!
Did you cry? I sobbed and sobbed and the nurse was like umm are you ok 🤣🤦‍♀️

Halsi · 26/09/2023 21:28

Thankyou @KG1244 and @ASGIRC 😊

@ASGIRCoh no! Our bodies really aren't our own are they. Just think, you're a third of the way there, fingers crossed your appetite comes back. I do miss wine, ans if I'm still pregnant at Christmas I will find that really hard lol. Love a wine by the fire!

@CazzyM1983 I cried at my last couple of scans. Not even for any particular emotion, like not feeling happy or sad just purely being overwhelmed. Cant help it, hope that stops 🙈

ASGIRC · 26/09/2023 21:32

@Halsi Oh man! I miss wine so much. Though recently I have been too nauseous to even miss it. But I miss the idea of it!
And yeah, Christmas and NYE will be tough! And sure, I could maybe have a small glass to celebrate, but I dont want a glass. I want a bottle. So best to stay off it.

And while I have only tried 1 non alcoholic wine, it was absolutely dreadful, so Im not in a rush to try another one!😂

IVFAlone · 27/09/2023 07:06

Asking for prayers today girls! Going in for a 6w6d scan at 9:30. I went last week at 5w5d and they could see a Ges Sac and Yolk Sac but no fetal pole. Hopefully they see a fetal pole and HB today but expecting the worse with a lack of symptoms. Anyone have any advice / experiences they could share? Xx

hopefulmum46 · 27/09/2023 07:30

@IVFAlone hope you get some positive news today

@thislittlebird I'm O negative and we don't know what my husband is - unfortunately they don't offer testing for him. I've been told I'll have the first antiD injection at 28 weeks but got to go in for other ones if involved in any trauma or if I have any bleeding.

I've got my 12 week scan on Friday but have come down with a cold. I've tested negative for COVID so I guess I'll just go and wear a mask. I tried to postpone it slightly last week but was told the next availability was at 16 weeks which is too late.

TheBirdintheCave · 27/09/2023 07:33

@IVFAlone Good luck! ❤️

My nausea has gone so it's curtains for me at 6+6. It was there when I woke up to go to the loo around 3am but when I got up to shower at 7am it had just vanished 😭 Typical that this has happened the day before the scan. I’m so upset. I can’t believe I’d started to imagine this one might work out and now it’s all been taken away from me. No spotting and my boobs are still sore but that’s down to the progesterone I’ve been taking.

KG1244 · 27/09/2023 08:15

@IVFAlone @TheBirdintheCave symptoms 100% come and go. I mean everyone is different but before 7 weeks I had days where I felt absolutely fine and some people feel generally fine throughout. Sending you both lots of luck and love for your scans ❤️❤️

countrypunk · 27/09/2023 11:14

@TheBirdintheCave I've been lurking on this thread because I'm a bit further on than everyone else here - nearly 15 weeks. But I wanted to say to you that no nausea today absolutely does not mean things have gone wrong. My nausea kicked in at 6+3 but it was all over the place - some days I felt sick in the morning, some days it was the evening and some days I didn't feel sick at all.

I know it's impossible not to worry given everything we've all been through to get here, but when you feel it coming just tell yourself you're going to give yourself a break and try and detach from it. What will be will be, and you worrying or not worrying will not change the outcome. So you may as well not! If you can get out in nature at some point today, do it - it will help.

Wishing you all the best for your scan tomorrow.

MaybeBabyTwo · 27/09/2023 11:39

I'm miscarrying, HCG fine but they can't find the pregnancy so now on management for ectopic. Cannot believe this is happening to me again.

TheBirdintheCave · 27/09/2023 11:49

@MaybeBabyTwo I'm so, so sorry :(

@KG1244 @countrypunk It has come back a bit now so that's given me a bit more hope. Less than 24 hours now until the scan so I suppose I'll know soon enough!
