I figured that it could be fun to put together a list of pregnancy things that make you say "why??" -- they are retorical

Here's mine

Why is my sense of smell so sensitive if everything I smell makes me feel sick!

Why do we get silly, weird and peculiar cravings??? I mean Quavers dipped in penut butter! Chocolate and cheese!!! What the hell is going on with that! Found out my ice craving is due to pica- very low Iron but the rest there is no answer to. My suspicion is that an alien may have taken over my body.

Why does every illness or problem I have get blamed on pregnancy? Sore eyes - pregnancy, headaches - pregnancy etc

Charlotte, i had a fierce ice craving with ds, ate ice cubes out of the tray like chocolates, they could freeze quickly enough for me...didnt know it was iron deficiency...mine was fine throughout my pregnancy.

yeh its called pica. You can eat different things with it, some people crave coal, others want paper, some wanna eat dirt off the floor and some even wanna eat poo. thank god i got off lightly with ice

why didnt I take up my vets offer to do an ultra sound on me when I had the chance because Im still not convinced there is anyone in there

WHY does everyone tell me I look like I might give birth early when I know full well SODS LAW says I'll be late. Getting my damn hopes up!
WHY do my thighs hurt so much.

and I agree with the 'why do we get pregnant again after moaning so much about it last time' This is my first pg.. but I so know that'll be me soon! Hehe.

Why do the last few weeks seem to take longer than the rest of the pregnancy altogether?

Why does everyone have to give an opinion on how huge/tiny/puffy/high/low/wide/on the hips/all around/all out front etc I'm carrying? - don't they know if I try to piece together all these images in my head I get a massive 'freak' complex!?

Why when are are the size of a whale and desperate for labour to start does everyone you see have to say,'you not had it yes'?? Yes i had it yesterday i just decided to shove a beach ball under my top as i was missing being huge!!??

Why when you have had baby and are in hospital does it seem that everyone has a baby who sleeps all the time except you? Just me then!?

why don't antenatal classes tell you about how it will AFTER you've got the baby out? Useful stuff like how to get dressed, go to the loo or (maybe one day...)eat lunch with a baby stuck to your boob.

no, she's up half the night drinking, smoking and texting her mates?!!? WTF!!!!
