@cossie13 So strange! I can’t really fault any of the treatment that both my 12 and 20 week scans were great, it’s all been really good. Saying that my midwife laughs because I literally am having a textbook pregnancy (so far and hope this continues 🤞🏻) so I’m just plodding along!

PartRadish · 06/10/2023 13:23

Also booked in for Telford @cossie13 :)

Yep I have to say my care this time round under PRH has been brilliant so far @MrsJ6921 Triage have been great everytime I've needed them and I really like my Consultant.

Would be so funny if we all ended up in at the same time!

Redpanda21 · 06/10/2023 13:55

Thanks @cossie13 and @suz2285

Is anyone not gaining any weight? I weighed myself last night and I’ve actually lost the kg that I put on, so at my pre pregnancy weight!

Mushroo · 06/10/2023 14:59

@Redpanda21 how many weeks are you? I only gained about 3 pounds at 23/24 weeks and it’s sped up since then.

I spoke to the midwife and she said as long as you’re eating normally it’s fine

Booklover88 · 06/10/2023 16:01

@Mushroo we have the same due date so I’m thinking baby might be before Xmas now if I’m induced. Who knows?!

I felt really down when I was first diagnosed. Felt the joy of being pregnant had been taken from me and there was so much more to think about. Felt so jealous of other pregnant people who don’t have these complications! But I’ve been doing lots of little nesting things for baby coming which has made me excited again. Definitely check out Gestational Diabetes website-their chocolate mousse recipe is amazing! Unfortunately, fasting readings are the ones you can’t really do much about as they’re caused by hormones. My midwife told me there’s a good chance I’ll need medication at some stage and that’s not my fault-if I’m following the diet and my fasting levels are high, then what else can I do? My levels have been higher with covid which I’ve been worried about but I keep telling myself it’s out of my hands. We can’t control our hormones unfortunately. And that slice of cake will taste so much sweeter when we’ve got baby in our arms. We’ve got this! Sending massive hugs-I know how crap it is xxx

Onedayatatime24 · 06/10/2023 16:05

@Redpanda21 I didn't put anything on until about 22/23 weeks, then the last 3 weeks I've put on 6/7lbs! Midwife said he's going through a growth spurt so that's probably it, don't think I've been eating or anything differently.

Mummyme87 · 06/10/2023 16:22

@Mushroo nice guidelines for birth when you have GDM diet controlled is 40-41weeks 👍 we offer IOL for insulin at 38weeks, metformin at 39weeks and diet 40weeks

Mushroo · 06/10/2023 16:32

@Booklover88 yup that’s exactly how I’ve been feeling! But yeh, feeling a lot better this afternoon and all my readings today (aside from fasting) have been great. Just going to step away from instagram as I seem to follow loads of food accounts and focus on baby stuff and things I can get for me like massages and make up!

@Mummyme87 thank you that’s really helpful :) allows me to plan a little bit!

Redpanda21 · 06/10/2023 16:35

@Mushroo @Onedayatatime24 I’m 25 weeks tomorrow.

I’ll ask the midwife on Monday. I saw a calculator which said I should have put on between 5 and 9kg already

Kalodin · 06/10/2023 17:55

Been minimal for me @Redpanda21 , all my pregnancies have been like that. No one has ever been concerned, i would just get comments like "only weight youve put on is your bump!" But if you are concerned, do mention it to your MW when you see her.

MrsJ6921 · 06/10/2023 18:05

@cossie13 @PartRadish Will this be your first or do you have other children? I’m due the 5th Jan and will be my first!

Dannic2018 · 06/10/2023 18:18

I’ve missed so much! Sending love to anyone who needs it and hope you’re all ok ❤️

buckingmad · 07/10/2023 08:04

Got a wedding today I really cba for. I know I’m going to be uncomfortable, achey and tire quickly. I just really hope DH feels the same as me and wants to come back earlyish and make the most of another baby free night! (As in the peaceful sleep, sexy time is non existent during pregnancy for us 😂).

Mushroo · 07/10/2023 08:21

@buckingmad good luck! I normally love a wedding but it’s so tiresome standing round, especially when everyone else is drinking.

Hope you get your early night!

FirstT1meMum · 07/10/2023 11:45

@buckingmad hope you have a good day and manage to get home to enjoy a child free restful night!

Just currently waiting for my covid jab then going to have a mooch around Cheshire Oaks and have some lunch out while the weather is nice!

These pregnancy dreams are another level! Past few nights I've had some intense dreams that were so realistic I was convinced I'd actually been stung by a wasp this morning 🤣🙈

Bims2019 · 07/10/2023 12:21

@FirstT1meMum oh the dreams! I tend to have quite vivid dreams anyway but they're on another level at the moment. Last night I dreamt I was given a puppy, which turned into a baby and I was really disappointed 😂 and then I kept losing the baby. Hope it's not a sign of things to come, just my general anxiety 🤣

@buckingmad hope you can enjoy the wedding, I know how you feel though. I went to a wedding in August where I didn't know many people, and it did get a bit boring not being able to drink or even dance as much as I usually would. Got another one later this week then I'm done for the year!

Has anyone discovered a comfy strapless bra for during pregnancy? I could do with one for this wedding but the one I've ordered feels a bit like a torture device.

sashastuck · 07/10/2023 13:28

@Bims2019 I’ve been wearing the reusable stick on ones a bit. Doesn’t feel like you’re wearing anything!

@buckingmad hope you enjoy the wedding and get to leave earlyish!!

Sorry for all the messages I’ve missed. I did read them all and hope everyone is okay x

I’ve been in hospital all morning with suspected UTI. Woke up feeling a bit off which quickly progressed to intense period like cramping (not on and off, just constant). Was so worried it was early labour, equivalent to the worst period pain I’ve probably ever had 😫 anyway they stuck me on a monitor and checked my cervix, all was fine. Just got the awful stinging to content with now!!

Matildahoney · 07/10/2023 13:29

@Bims2019 I used the wonderbra ultimate strapless, size up on the band or use an extender and it should be ok.

Mushroo · 07/10/2023 13:46

@FirstT1meMum enjoy Cheshire oaks! I went the other day and did my Xmas shopping as I know I won’t want to do it in December 😂.

Also bought a few treats for myself!

Redpanda21 · 07/10/2023 13:48

@Kalodin this is a first in pregnancy for me. Normally put on at least 2 stone by this point! 😂

suz2285 · 07/10/2023 14:53

@Redpanda21 I didn't put on anything during the first trimester but I've put on about 20lbs in the 2nd so far!! No idea why, I'm all bump! But also fat on my butt and thighs which I didn't need more of tbh 😂 I'm hoping it slows down in the 3rd!! I didn't think I'd put on that much so I was a bit shocked

Also my boobs are MASSIVE! Does anyone have any good nursing/sleeping and nursing bra recommendations for big boobs, I'm talking like 36G/H likely at this point! I don't want to buy too quickly but I'll need something for bfeeding and a lot of them look either far too small or with zero support! Planning to visit M&S soon and check out if they have any in store I can try on!!

Redpanda21 · 07/10/2023 15:10

@suz2285 i got some nursing bras from Amazon.

My boobs have gone from a C to an E cup so far!

suz2285 · 07/10/2023 15:12

@Redpanda21 honestly mine did not need to grow anymore! They weren't small to begin with 😂

I have had a look on Amazon but I'm not seeing anything big enough that doesn't look terrible! I also don't fancy spending £40 a bra on some of the more expensive ones 😂🙈

Mummyme87 · 07/10/2023 15:43

I know the feeling of not wanting to do anything. I struggling with the cba on holiday. Currently sitting on the beach but cba to get up and go back to the hotel

HopeAndStrength · 07/10/2023 16:38

@suz2285 I've gone from 36e to 36g and am already wearing the M&S flexifit nursing bras because I find them comfy. Worth trying on if you can though, as the different colours fit me differently!
