Oh god @Dannic2018 and @Luhou you're making me nervous with the bickering with dh's. Hopefully it's not too stressful for you both!!!

We've got the garage being converted into a study and utility space at the start of January. Half term will involve clearing the garage into different parts of the house (most likely into what is going to be babies room 🤣) and then the washer and dryer need to move into the kitchen over Christmas hols 😫

Hopefully works will only take 2 weeks max. I'm now trying to work out if baby coming early (as I suspect) is going to be an additional stresser or if we can try and keep him in until due date as works will be done by then 🤣

Mummyme87 · 24/09/2023 20:03

we aren’t anywhere near prepared for a baby. They wont have a nursery and need to have a massive declutter.

my youngest has been vomiting this evening and crying for me 😢 I’ve been at work but on way home now.

Luhou · 24/09/2023 20:54

@Hummusanddipdip we're fine really, I think I just get frustrated much easier than usual. We love eachother really. Nothing major just getting wound up by little things.

Sorry you're struggling @Mummyme87 so hard when your little ones are poorly! Hope they feel better soon

We've been potty training all weekend which has not made things particularly easy weekend. Taking a moment now watching netflix with a chocolate pudding before begining week over again 🥱

I think medication for Raynauds is Nifedipine which is an anti hypertensive so drops your blood pressure.

Ugh that probably rules me out thrn! Mine is already very low 🙄🙄🙄🙄

Dannic2018 · 25/09/2023 07:54

@Hummusanddipdip don’t worry it’ll be fine. We don’t argue, I just get frustrated and want to cry and rant and he apologised for not thinking and cracks on to clean. We’ve been renovating the house since January and it’s been one thing after another and nothing has ran smoothly plus he’s doing all the work so lots of stress and pressure. I’ve woken up with a coldsore on my nose, a clear sign I’m run down. But I know once it’s done (last big messy room to do) we can finally relax and enjoy our weekends again with our new addition x

Luhou · 25/09/2023 08:46

@Dannic2018 sorry about the coldsore, that sounds naff. Take it easy when you can. Sounds like you're nearly there if you're doing the plastering, fun part next picking colours. Our kitchen extension doesn't even have a roof yet!*We do have our exisiting tiny awful kitchen but desperate for new one to be finished before Jan!

*roof going up today!

Mummyme87 · 25/09/2023 09:59

I am absolutely exhausted today. Got smallest off school due to vomiting yesterday (who was awake during the night then I couldn’t get back to sleep), dropped car to garage, nipped to Sainsbos and had to sit down before we left I was so out of breath with a racing heart. Need to collect my bridesmaid dress up after midday today. Feeling slightly nauseous. Planning on lying on the sofa for the next couple of hours

LittleAlien24 · 25/09/2023 10:19

Feel for ye going through the renovations, it's not easy. We are hoping to start with new wiring before baby is here but nothing ever goes to plan so it will probably start when he's here. Have to get him some sort of ear protections and send him out for walks with his sisters as much as possible when works are on.

@Mummyme87 hope your little one feels better soon.
@Luhou congrats on the roof going up, must be a relief

Im starting to feel a bit anxious and nervous now about my coming long trip. Never done anything like this on my own, well my 16 year old will be with me but still

Flossiepot · 25/09/2023 11:22

Gosh I've missed so much in a few days 🙈

Loving all your baby names, we've got 2 in mind now so going to wait to meet him I think.

Hope you're all doing ok ☺️

Luhou · 25/09/2023 11:33

We were hoping to keep our name between us until he arrives.

Although MIL asked my nearly three year old yesterday if she had any ideas. Her response "I think he should be called unicorn but Mummy and Daddy call him Harry" 🙃

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 25/09/2023 12:54

Oh god there's a lot of us renovating. We must be mad! We have almost got one floor and one room downstairs complete. But the extension starts in Feb, so when we will hopefully have a new tiny baby 😩 think we will have to move out and stay elsewhere for a bit.

Sympathies @Mummyme87 we've had the sickness bug here with our little one. Hope you don't catch it. So far we've dodged it but I swear by a little apple cider vinegar in water, or lemon juice (depending on the bug).

suz2285 · 25/09/2023 14:29

We renovated our bedroom and did a huge declutter and put in extra storage just before/early pregnancy! Our roof leaked last winter and the bedroom was a mess, when I had my MC in March we decided we needed to renovate as the place was getting worse, we couldn't move due to the market conditions and I didn't want to try and do it while heavily pregnant! 😂

So we're all done on the renovation, thank god cos I spent weeks cleaning and painting!! but still got odd bits to do, change a door get a tv up on the wall, nothing exciting! Mostly jobs for the husband which will prob get done 2 weeks before baby is due!

We only have one room tho so we needed to create a lot of space so we can hopefully last a year or two and then move to somewhere bigger if the market is any better 🤞🤞🤞

WitcheryDivine · 25/09/2023 15:38

Hi lovelies, sorry to move away from renovation chat but has anyone bought any genuinely comfy maternity tights/leggings? I have dresses I could wear to work but it's far too cold now without anything underneath.

I bought some that would have been better billed as torture devices!

Also is a maternity coat necessary?

WitcheryDivine · 25/09/2023 15:39

Oh and what pregnancy pillows do you love? sorry for all the questions - suddenly in need of a bit of a shop!

lilluce95 · 25/09/2023 15:46

@WitcheryDivine I really like love leggings for maternity leggings (and normal ones!) true to size and super comfy. Not see through either! As for tights I've just ordered some from H&M but I can't comment yet on how they fit and feel etc!

Hummusanddipdip · 25/09/2023 16:41

I got some mat tights from matalan at the weekend @WitcheryDivine. Someone told me to upsize as they didn't go all the way over her bump... I think this advice is to be ignored after today 🤣 they keep falling down and I've got Nora Batty ankles!!!!! Besides that, they're super comfy and soft to touch.

Matildahoney · 25/09/2023 16:42

@WitcheryDivine I got some plain black maternity tights in Primark £5 a pair. I'm a size 14(usually) and the medium were very comfy today, although I was far too hot in them so won't be digging them out again for a while!
Comfy leggings were Shein, I found Asda medium too tight on the bump and their large are too big everywhere! I plan to try Next as their normal leggings are lovely.

Mummyme87 · 25/09/2023 17:41

@WitcheryDivine I got the maternity Live Leggings and they’re good. I would recommend.

I have a maternity coat from 2nd born. Definitely recommend, as also used it to where baby in a sling inside the coat and could still zip up

LozzieLoo · 25/09/2023 19:36

I would also recommend love leggings! Very comfy and not at all see through. Have some from H&M but the quality isn’t as good.

Onedayatatime24 · 25/09/2023 20:00

I got leggings from m&s and just sized up! Still fitting me so far and not too expensive.

I'm also not sure on a maternity coat! Is it worth it for 2-3 months? I have some non-waterproof ones that I was going to make do with but would love to hear everyone's thoughts!

Redpanda21 · 25/09/2023 20:05

I bought some thick primark leggings. They’re still going strong 2 years later. I think they were about £12-15.

I didn’t buy a maternity coat. I actually bought a parka coat from Jack Wills, on the online sales but sized up one. I think it was about £80. It turned up and it’s a 3 in 1 so you can have it as a super warm wintry one which has the fleecy quilted jacket or you can wear the jacket or coat separately. Best buy ever. Plus it went round baby nicely when out walking.

Ttcdcno1 · 25/09/2023 20:11

Next maternity tights are really comfy!

Hummusanddipdip · 25/09/2023 20:27

I've been looking at kangaroo pouches (I think they're called) basically just a panel that you can add to your coat, will do during pregnancy and then allow me to have baby in a carrier and wear the coat over the top of us.

something like this

Luhou · 25/09/2023 20:38

I bought a maternity coat in the sale. It's one with the pannel in with the view baby will be cosy tucked in there in the carrier come January. You can also then fully remove the pannel and turn it into a normal coat after you're not pregnant or baby carrying.
