Pullout method conception

So me and DH did the deed but he pulled out and now I've missed my period (I am irregular) and according the FLO app I should take a test in 4 days time but I caved in and took one exactly 4 days before what should be my period since it didn't come when FLO said it should and to my Suprise there appears a very faint line which I don't have to squint for but it's not massively obvious either.

Btw I used a first response.

Had this happened to anyone and should I trust first response? I was obviously ecstatic but also don't want to get my hopes up as I honestly would be shocked to get pregnant over pre-cum.

The pull out method is not a form of contraception.

You had unprotected sex of course you could be pregnant and if you've got a line four days before you're period is due then it seems very likely you are.

I know it's not a form of contraception as I am not on any and wasn't trying not to get pregnant but I guess I just didn't believe it's even that possible. I will take another in 4 days and see how it progresses :D

Pull out doesn't work. So this is very possible

Mangotango39 · 12/09/2023 09:55

I got pregnant this way last time. Sadly mmc but still, pull out doesn't work to prevent aha

mumtotwox · 12/09/2023 10:07

Baby 3 is from this way for us 😆

How do you feel if it is positive?

MargotBamborough · 12/09/2023 10:09

The pull out method is not a method of contraception, it's a euphemism for having unprotected sex.

You had unprotected sex and now you've got a positive pregnancy test, so yes, you are pregnant.

Congratulations?

I hope the father is as happy about the news as you seem to be, but if he isn't, he should have used a condom!

Hahah so it really happens then, if it happens will love to see reaction on my husbands face 😅

Also, when did you take a test ?

If it's positive, I'll be happy because I actually want another but it's not something we decided is concrete just that if it happens it happens.

OP, n the nicest possible way, you really need to read up on basic biology.

mumtotwox · 12/09/2023 10:38

@rosepetall It happened after a Harry Styles concert 😆 The one time we really "DTD" as well...

I took a test the day after my period was due. I had my brothers wedding the weekend before and felt like I was going to get my period but 4 days later and nothing. The line came up within seconds 🤣

We really wanted another baby but not this soon, however, we are delighted and can't wait for February now! I am sure your husband will be happy and it seems like you are ready for another. When will you test again? I'm excited for you!

Haha I know pre-cum can contain some sperm and it can only take 1 time given all the timings are correct but it's just shocking to me and curious to hear other peoples stories. I say shocking because it took me a while to get pregnant normally and to think pullout can still do that is crazy

“Pull out” is not a method. It’s unprotected sex and every reason to assume it leads to pregnancy. Honestly when people are this stupid I worry about the (inevitable) kids.

I am not quite sure if it positive yet as there is still a few days and plus I can't seem to accept in my head that I can still get pregnant this way even thought I know science is factual.

We go back and forth on how many kids we want but we both agree if it happens then we will both be happy.

I will update in a few days what the outcome is

My periods are irregular so I thought ah could just be that but even for my irregularities should of arrived by now and + I am not having the usual feelings I get before a period so it feels like it's not coming lol but honestly the shock on my face when I saw what I think is a positive faint.

Really hoping it is 😁

Honestly best just worry about yourself because the kids are good :)

Go and be a dick somewhere else.

Ooh how exciting 😊 when you gonna test again? X

There's an old joke OP, what do you cal people who use the pull out method of contraception? Parents!
Congratulations 🎉

thecatsthecats · 12/09/2023 11:24

To be fair, I was actively trying, and when we had a quiet month (only two attempts, neither of which at a good time in theory), we were both pretty surprised when I was pregnant.

FirstMondayInMay · 12/09/2023 11:27

I could have written this myself earlier this year🤣 my periods are irregular, I felt like I was gonna come on for 3/4 days so did a test when nothing came and it was positive!

snoopy18 · 12/09/2023 11:47

First born was this method 🤣

rosepetall · 12/09/2023 11:51

@Cowlover89

In the past I would have tested every day and night 😂 but planning to actually wait 4 days and test then

That's why it's shocking to me that people will actively try and then bam you think your cheating your way out and then there's a positive lol. It will be a great if it's really positive and stays that way 😁
