I couldn't find a new thread open as the old is now full.

Got a few of the usernames to tag, definitely missed people but hopefully they find the thread :)

@Spareincoming thanks so much for that info, will deffo avoid the BOB then.

not sure if I can get those two brands you recommended in Canada, but i will have a look! If not I’ll get the Thule, it’s pricy but I’ve found a few second hand ones online!

DollyGx · 21/08/2023 23:49

@medicmumma we are thinking of going for the Nuna Triv Next. We don’t have a lot of space to store a pram and this folds down pretty small and will fit in the boot of my small car too. Can also fold it with one hand which I thought might be handy if I’m on my own with baby. I think it’s only really suitable for living in the city and city walks as the wheels are quite small, so not suitable for all terrain but that works for us. There’s so much choice though, I found it quite overwhelming!

Spareincoming · 21/08/2023 23:57

@Psqueak87 A lot of the runners at my athletics club have Thule buggys, or Thule bike trailer’s that can also be buggies. They seem very reliable!

Spareincoming · 22/08/2023 00:01

@Psqueak87 Mountain buggy are definitely available in Canada; we got our 3 wheeled off roader and the travel stroller at the recommendation of our friends in AB!

Katiec1 · 22/08/2023 05:49

@medicmumma were also going with the Babylo XTI. Just shopping around now to see where’s cheapest or does the best offer.

Mldn · 22/08/2023 07:38

I got the Joolz Aer + - we live in an apartment in central London, so wanted to something small to be able to travel around & also store at home. I thought this looked way more functional than the yo-yo that you see most people in the city with! I’m really happy with it. I viewed it in Mamas & Papas & then ordered it in a decent bundle with a good saving online from Natural Baby Shower.

Sb86 · 22/08/2023 12:11

I had the whooping cough vaccine and had no side affects 😊

We ordered the icandy peach 7 after falling in love with it at the baby show back in June.

Mummypig23 · 22/08/2023 12:55

Had my iron levels back today from third trimester bloods. I’m 29+2. Ferritin is 7 and HB is 113. They’ve prescribed iron tablets but any idea how low this is?

Psqueak87 · 22/08/2023 17:54

Anyone know much about decreased fetal movement? I have never been too worried about it before, I’ve never felt much, and what I have felt has been very muted due to anterior placenta.

the last 24 hours I feel like I have been feeling less…so I am a little worried. The hospital is over an hour round trip for me.

I looked up some info online and it said to time how long it takes to feel 10 movements. If 2 hours or more, go to the hospital.

well I just timed it and it took 30 minutes, which is well within the safe amount of time, however I did do some poking and turning over in bed to get those movements, so not sure if they actually count. Did I cheat?

I might just be super paranoid as someone I know just lost their baby at 37 weeks…

should I try the counter again without any intervention from myself I.e poking and turning in bed?

I take a lot of comfort from the fact that I had a private ultrasound 3 weeks ago, and while I could see her kicking away at my placenta I felt absolutely none of those kicks. But I’m still a little concerned…

Spareincoming · 22/08/2023 18:02

@Psqueak87 if you’re concerned, go!
I’m over an hour from the hospital i have to go to if I have concerns but wouldn’t hesitate. I may have taken a DC with me in previous until dp could get them!

Oreopie · 22/08/2023 18:17

@Psqueak87 if you're worried just make a call and go! No experience myself but midwives have said to me it's about what feels normal/abnormal to the mother. The piece of mind will be worth it x

WriMum22 · 22/08/2023 20:05

@Psqueak87 Hi, I’m new here , due 21st November so 27 weeks now. Saw your post and didn’t wanna run. My little girl is normally very active but last few days I’ve just not felt like she’s been the same, couldn’t quite put my finger on it as she has been moving but it’s just not been the usual pattern. I’m under the perinatal mental health team as suffer terrible health anxiety which is badly triggered by pregnancy due to a previous loss. I’ve been putting off ringing triage for almost a week because I knew in my heart that it was most likely my anxiety causing concerns that aren’t there but this morning I couldn’t shift the niggling feeling, it was hanging over me like a dark cloud so I gave in and called the hospital. They brought me straight in and monitored her and she was doing somersaults the whole time, I felt so embarrassed. But after all of that, the hospital were so amazing and the midwife said when it comes to babies they don’t take any risks. If concern crosses your mind in the slightest, she said don’t ever hesitate to call, a positive outcome is what they want so she said don’t ever be embarrassed, they’d rather check and reassure. My advise would be call them and then there’s no doubt at all ☺️

Hi all, its been ages since I last posted, but have been super busy with work the last few weeks and just too tired by the time I get home.
I'm 27.4 today and so far everything going okay. I have my first growth scan on Friday when I'll be 28wks to check baby is growing as he/she should be(I'm having extra scans due to being 41). I've been getting loads of movement and baby has settled into a pretty reliable schedule already which is reassuring.

The only downsides I've been having so far is restless leg syndrome in my right leg and a stretching/stinging in my lower right side of abdomen/pelvis right by where it joins the leg, if I've been standing too long or walk too far. I presume its just where everything is stretched now I'm getting bigger and baby seems to favour laying towards the right side mostly so presumably that's where extra weight is concentrated.

I've been booked for my flu jab at end of sept and I had my whopping cough one at 20wk scan.

Pram wise we are thinking Bugaboo fox or uppababy vista but are going to view them at the weekend so may end up changing our minds and picking something completely different .

JD90 · 23/08/2023 09:15

@WhyIsTheDogBlue you might surprise yourself with the pram thing, I looked online when I was pregnant last year and liked the look of the Cosatto giggle 2 (initially because I loved the fox design as it was a bit more interesting than the hoardes of grey and black everywhere)
Figured this time round I'd keep an open mind and we went to a few different places where we could see them in person and never changed our minds and ordered it last week. Definitely take your time putting it all up and down and changing bits around on it etc, I actually found it to be a really enjoyable day out. Made everything feel a bit more real too.

I had my whooping cough at my 20 week scan too, didn't have any side effects as such but my arm was super sore for like a week.

GreenAventurinee · 23/08/2023 10:52

I’ve booked my whooping cough vaccine for next week (will be almost 29 weeks) - that’s not too late is it?

We were getting the Venicci tinum but after spending a lot of time with my 18 month old nephews these last few weeks, we’ve changed our minds. We found the basket underneath so small, and it was quite heavy. We walk a lot and live in wales so a LOT of hills 🤣

We’ve reverted back to our original choice of the abc design salsa.

BabyBabyBaby123 · 23/08/2023 12:06

@GreenAventurinee I’m surprised you find the Venicci Tinum heavy, we love ours and are a very active family! Do you know if it is the original or the 2.0 as my friend has the Tinum and I have the 2.0 and I was shocked at how many differences there were between the models.

I’ve had my 28 week midwife appointment today and have been referred for a growth scan after measuring even higher above the 97th % line than my 26 week check. Although, my husband has just had a look at the graph and the graph was plotted wrong at 26 weeks, which would have had me measuring even further over the top line last time, so it’s a bit confusing.

I have my appointment Saturday morning, so I’ll see how everything is looking then.
I wanted to book a 4D scan to go with my DH and eldest DD, but now I want to hold off til after the growth scan just in case anything is flagged there.

Psqueak87 · 23/08/2023 13:10

@GreenAventurinee in Canada they don’t want you doing it till atleast 28 weeks, so I think 29 weeks is fine ☺️

I’m from wales too, although I left 9 years ago! I miss them hills!

Psqueak87 · 23/08/2023 14:07

Just for an update also, thanks all for your advice to go hospital. I decided I’d wait till this morning to see if there was an increase in movement, and there was so I am not so worried now. I have a dr apt next week anyway, so I’ll ask him then about what the procedure is in Canada if this happens again!

JD90 · 23/08/2023 16:42

@Psqueak87 glad to hear you're feeling more reassured and little one decided to make their presence more known for you 😊

AngeloMysterioso · 23/08/2023 23:21

Checking in! As of my last appointment I now officially have low blood pressure which explains why I feel dizzy and out of breath all the time… midwife didn’t seem at all concerned just told me to try and take it easy. Yeah right, like that’s an option with a 20 month old and a 3 1/2 year old!

38andtrying · 24/08/2023 08:34

I have my 28 week appointment with consultant today at 1.30, nerves started kicking in for some reason and i was saying to my husband i was actually not nervous and half looking forward to it. I think scans defo set off major anxiety in me, fingers crossed

PinkPlantCase · 24/08/2023 08:56

Hope it goes well @38andtrying

I saw a consultant in my first pregnancy. It was to discuss how a breathing breathing problem I had would be managed if I needed surgery. They were lovely! And very supportive of my plans to homebirth.

UnwieldyRhombus · 24/08/2023 11:03

Hi! Due early November and wondering when/what week of pregnancy everyone is planning to start maternity leave? I was leaving it until 38 weeks (my first came at 42 weeks so expecting this one to be on the later side too) but 😖work is so, so stressful that I have half a mind to start leave ASAP!

In my experience they're not worried about low blood pressure in the slightest as high blood pressure is the concern. Which is nice but at the same time I'm over here constantly feeling like I'm on the verge of keeling over and always needing something to cling onto or lean on!

I’m using annual leave to drop down to 4 day weeks from 32 weeks. I’ll have Wednesdays off to break up the week and rest.

Planning to go on mat leave at 38 weeks.

In my first pregnancy I started mat leave at 36 weeks, my job then was so stressful and involved long hours. The only way to protect myself was to stop. Where I work now has a much better work life balance so I think I’ll be able to keep going a bit longer.
