I couldn't find a new thread open as the old is now full.

Got a few of the usernames to tag, definitely missed people but hopefully they find the thread :)

@Thack I had it with my last pregnancy too. Hoping this one doesn't last too long!

JoyApple · 27/08/2023 00:05

Hi

Do any of you get shooting pain in pelvic area every time baby moves? Sometimes it feels like it's from my belly button, other times more below going towards vagina and anus.

I occasionally get severe stitch pain on my hip but this is different. This feels more like lightening crotch but it's every time baby moves!

I do have endometriosis and adenomyosis and fibroids and have had surgeries, and wondering whether they may be the cause?

Psqueak87 · 27/08/2023 00:53

@foodislife1 deffo getting some rib pain, but doesn’t sound like mine is as bad as yours. The middle back pain is the worst, only on my right hand side. Made worse by sitting or standing too long!

WriMum22 · 27/08/2023 06:49

@JoyApple I get this too, and I’ve recently been told I’ve got SPD which is causing the pains in my pelvis, hips and back. Haven’t slept for weeks as only get about 20 mins laid on each side before the pain kicks in so I’m tossing and turn all night! I’ll probably get more sleep when she arrives at this rate haha. It could be the start of SPD for you or could just be baby’s position or weight, either way sounds totally normal.

@GreenAventurinee we had one of those sneak peak gender tests at 9 weeks, but had my blood taken via my arm at a scanning clinic and it came back girl, I did it for fun more than anything but was so scared to buy anything. I then had a 16 week gender scan so I could see baby and see if the sneak peak was right, and that came back girl. Still couldn’t believe it after two boys so played dumb at my 20 week scan and pretended I didn’t know the gender and they said girl too. I then had another scan two week later because they couldn’t get all the checks done at the 20 week and I played dumb once more and got girl. Four times now confirmed girl and when I’m staring at a room full of pink, I panic and think what if it’s wrong? Haha.. I’ve had three pregnancies and the last two were spot on for gender at scan, so I wouldn’t worry too much. I know it happens but I think it’s rare they get it wrong 😊

GreenAventurinee · 27/08/2023 09:50

@WriMum22 I’m glad this feeling is normal. 😂 When they told me my son was a boy (once at the the 20 week scan 15 years ago) I didn’t question it once. I went and got lots of blue and didn’t give it a second thought.💕

I havnt had any painful movements in ribs yet but im measuring slightly behind so maybe thats why.

Mrsrobinsonx · 27/08/2023 09:52

Baby has had hiccups a couple of times now, 28 weeks. Does anyone else find it really strange? I’m actually more weirded out of hiccups over big movements, I worry why the baby has hiccups 😂😂

WriMum22 · 27/08/2023 09:55

@Mrsrobinsonx omg this was me last night 😂 Baby had hiccups and i started to worry slightly and thought what if it’s a sign of something wrong, especially as it felt like she was hiccuping for ages. In reality I do know hiccups are totally normal, but it did cross my mind. This is my third pregnancy and I’m still finding new worries or things that surprise me or freak me out 🙈

GreenAventurinee · 27/08/2023 11:52

I’ve read hiccups are a really good sign and it means babies lungs are maturing ☺️

Mldn · 27/08/2023 12:53

I am 30+3 & my baby has had noticeable hiccups since about 26 weeks! They’re so frequent now. Couple of times a day. Super cute x

JoyApple · 27/08/2023 18:23

@WriMum22 sorry to hear you are going through that pain too. last night I got fed up and slept on my back, as that was the only way I was going to get some rest. I wonder if that's ok?.

JoyApple · 27/08/2023 18:25

Mine is doing lots of hiccups too, although I'm a bit weary about them as my other LO would hiccup literally 50 times in one go in the womb, and did the same as a newborn too ... But I think some hiccups are completely normal.

Crazybrowncow · 27/08/2023 18:51

I went for a 28 wk growth scan today & found out I have too much amniotic fluid. It's really stressed me
out, partly because I've spent most of the day googling possible outcomes. Has anyone else experienced this? It explains why I'm feeling so much bigger than with my son.

WriMum22 · 27/08/2023 19:12

@JoyApple sounds like SPD, definitely mention it to your midwife as I was told by my doctor that the sooner I started physio the less likely it would be that I’d end up on crutches by the end of my pregnancy. I have my first session next week. The only time I’m pain free at night is on my back, but they do say you can’t sleep on your back after 28 weeks due to risk to baby, and the warnings scare me so I can’t fall to sleep anyway on my back as I get too anxious.

JoyApple · 27/08/2023 23:22

@WriMum22 it's tricky isn't it. Thanks, I'm already seeing a physio and got a follow up appointment on Tuesday so it's good timing, will bring it up with her. Surprisingly they do manual therapy now which is great (and not just give you a band as they used to before).

Btw I read magnesium is good for this kind of pain. I checked the vitamins I've been talking and sadly they don't contain magnesium. Have you been taking them? I can see pregnacare has 150mg magnesium so I tried to look for a mg tablet with the same dose but not had any luck yet. Oos I'm Holland & Barret's.

JoyApple · 27/08/2023 23:24

@Crazybrowncow I haven't come across that and I am sorry to hear that. I hope the doctors reassured you and gave you the support you needed?

Psqueak87 · 28/08/2023 03:33

@JoyApple I try my hardest to sleep on my side but it’s so uncomfortable. I almost always can only fall asleep on my back. I haven’t googled the risks because honestly there’s no other option for me.

I’ve not felt hiccups at all and I’m 30+1. Do those feeling them have a posterior placenta? Wondering if my anterior one is the reason I’m not feeling them..:

WriMum22 · 28/08/2023 06:54

@Crazybrowncow sorry to hear of your news, so hard but try not to worry. It should hopefully only mean that you and baby are monitored more which that in itself can be really reassuring. Hopefully your midwife is supporting you and explaining everything

@JoyApple yes, I too heard magnesium helps but then I know someone who suffered quite badly with SPD and she said the only real pain relief is having baby… only 12 weeks to go for me, 11 if I have my elective section at 39 weeks as advised 🙈. I was taking pregnacare till about 18 weeks, but had hyperemesis and couldn’t face taking them everyday so stopped, felt after 18 weeks, I’d taken enough. The pelvic pain started about 24 weeks.

WriMum22 · 28/08/2023 07:00

Is anyone going to use a next to me type cot? What type are you getting? I had a chicco one with my son and loved it, it was so spacious and he was in it till at least 6 months. This time I’m looking at the snuzpods as I like the style, but they look a bit small, especially compared to my last cot. It does say recommended till 6 months, but if baby is big, I’m worried she won’t be in it long. Don’t know whether to just get the chicco again (but just can’t stop looking at the snuzpod haha)

PinkPlantCase · 28/08/2023 08:18

@Crazybrowncow I wouldn’t worry about it too much. The fluid pool measurements can depend so much on how baby is lay when they happen to take the measurement.

I’m sure I read somewhere that the risk or cord prolapse changes from something like 0.2 to 0.4% chance which is still very tiny. I’ll see if I can find a link at some point. Artificial rupture of membranes increases the risk of chord prolapse.

We bought a tutti bambini cozee. Money off currently in argos and on amazon (£145), good reviews and recommended to us by a couple of friends. Check the boots august sale too for 15% off and lots of points! Tbh looking at them I found them all much the same 😂

Mldn · 28/08/2023 10:02

@WriMum22 I got the Maxi Cosi Iora Air. still sat in the box waiting to be built but it was on a good offer in John Lewis at the time & I though they were all much the same!

@Psqueak87 i have an anterior placenta and have been feeling hiccups for a couple of weeks x

JoyApple · 28/08/2023 11:04

@WriMum22 we got the tutti bambinee cozee air. Cheapest was in Costco at £150. I was keen on the air version as it has wheels and rocker. Hoping I can wheel it over to DH's side at weekends lol (we are formula feeding).

JoyApple · 28/08/2023 11:06

@Psqueak87 I'm in the same boat now too. I tried last night on side with a pillow and had excruciating pain so had to switch to back. I don't think I've got a choice.

Does this look ok for a bedside crib? www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/baby/nursery-and-bedding/cot-beds-and-bedside-cribs/bedside-cribs/babylo-you-and-me-crib/p/216878 we have quite a tight budget. We do have a Moses basket for downstairs but I have been told they tend to out grow them quite quickly
