@LeeanneD11 im 32 weeks but did have this last week and week before. I even went to triage and was tested for pre-term Labour but all came back negative luckily. I think it’s just our bodies getting ready as we enter the final stages. I’ve definitely noticed looser stools and lots more watery discharge this last week or so

Okay , yeah same as me more watery discharge for myself too , never had this in my last one lol 😂 I'm guessing 3rd make it lot more easier for our bodies to get ready as been through it before haha , now in the single digits finally xx

Travellingislife · 25/09/2023 08:08

@Psqueak87 I definitely felt conscious the first time I travelled with my DS in business and it was actually harder work than if I’d flown economy with him.. I cared too much though, you have every right to be there as much as anyone else.

Katiec1 · 25/09/2023 08:50

@LeeanneD11 yes I’ve had this feeling for the last couple of weeks (I’m 32+3 today)
little one is head down so I’m putting the pressure and everything else down to that.

Maybe my baby could be head down and putting pressure on the Lower abdomen xx

Katiec1 · 25/09/2023 09:44

@LeeanneD11 possibly?
It could also just be our bodies way for getting prepared for labour and birth. The many joys of pregnancy 😩🙈

Literally! It's been 5 years since I had my last baby and my nerves are kicking in and I still have 9 weeks to go , but all be worth it in the end xx

Katiec1 · 25/09/2023 09:54

@LeeanneD11 oh yes…the nerves 😳🙈
My last was over 7 years (twins) and was so different to this one as we were in weekly for scans/checks. The wait between the appointments is what’s getting me the most🙈 heres hoping the next few weeks fly in for us all x

Oh yes defo busy month for me next Month, scans , checks , midwife's just so many appointments before the baby comes along , let's hope it flies by for us , mine are like twins but except mine are 10 months are apart and now I have a perfect age gap which is good for me as kids are so excited about this coming along xx

DollyGx · 25/09/2023 10:10

Glad someone mentioned watery discharge as I was starting to get concerned at the amount I’ve had the last week or so, definitely a noticeable increase! I’m 33+3 today, also had some cramps last week @LeeanneD11 and the week before, just like very mild period cramps, it seems to be after I’ve done a lot or been on my feet a lot so not sure if it’s linked to that or just coincidence. As others have said probably just our bodies getting ready! I’m not too concerned as baby has been moving as normal

LilmissCa · 25/09/2023 14:01

When is everyone finishing work??
I'm due to finish 3 weeks before but thinking of changing it to 4 weeks.
My 2nd I finished 4 weeks before as it fell in with Christmas. My 1st I hadn't even finished work was due to finish 2 weeks before but my now almost 8old came a few days before that!
Exhausted already but looking more time off after so don't want to finish too early.

Psqueak87 · 25/09/2023 14:46

@Travellingislife thank you! I actually asked a woman at work who only flies business last week what she thought of me taking a baby on. She said almost every flight she’s done has a baby on so she doesn’t think I should worry! I just feel bad as I checked the price and it’s a 6000$ flight, I would never pay that but I’ve been saving my points for a while. I’m hoping they’re all seasoned fliers and have noise cancelling headphones 🥴

I’ve been putting off harvesting my garden for weeks but finally got a little burst of energy to do it yesterday! 2 hours later I finished! State of me though! Haha.

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 25/09/2023 16:08

@LilmissCa my maternity leave starts day before my due date 🙈

Can't really afford to take unpaid maternity leave and the longer I take off before the less time I have after. First baby, but myself and siblings were 1-2 weeks late, same on DHs side so I don't want to finish at 37 weeks and have 5 weeks sat uncomfortable doing nothing when I could be uncomfortable at work 😂. Sounds like you tend to give birth earlier though!

@Psqueak87 impressive! I'm back to dry heaving if I try make a meal or do some washing up so I don't think I'll be doing any harvesting!

JoyApple · 25/09/2023 16:10

DollyGx · 25/09/2023 00:07

@JoyApple did you find it made any difference to your labour? I think I’m going to start soon, worth a try!

I think it did ... but who knows. The dates definitely boosted my iron levels so I think that was worthwhile doing - plus I love dates! Fresh dates are especially yummy :)

JoyApple · 25/09/2023 16:15

And this :)

DollyGx · 25/09/2023 16:42

@JoyApple thanks so much for sharing those, sounds like it’s definitely worth giving dates a try! Which is fine by me as I love them too, bonus re. the iron levels as well!

Travellingislife · 25/09/2023 17:12

@Psqueak87 great work on the harvesting! I find it gives you energy and also keep the niggles at bay by doing something active.

I must admit I was one of the business travellers who did not like children in business, but that was pre having kids. Now I don’t mind and it makes life easier for everyone if you are friendly and help the parents out, by that I mean interacting with the kids, like playing peekaboo if they’re near you or just giving the parents a smile and a nod if they kick off. It’s a horrible feeling when you’ve got a screaming child in a plane full of people. A smile means much then.
If you know you’re annoyed by noise you should just bring noise cancelling headphones like you said!

Katiec1 · 25/09/2023 17:35

@LilmissCa i finish up this Saturday, I’ll be 33+1 then. I’m not on a full time contract so it’s a bit more flexible to when I could finish.
I feel I’m ready to finish now. My iron levels haven’t been the best the last couple of weeks so I’m feeling like I’ve less energy than normal (doesn’t help having other little people to care for and run around after at home too🙈)
Im hoping with the few weeks I have off to get the iron and energy back up.

JD90 · 25/09/2023 18:03

I've got 4 weeks to go, but only doing 2-3 shifts a week using annual leave. I'll be 35+4 when I finish.
Currently waiting to see my consultant, who is running 2 1/2 hours behind... yawn to be fair I'm alright, it's unavoidable when there have been emergencies and such but OH is getting really irritated. Clearly my years of working in the NHS are paying off 🤣

BabyBabyBaby123 · 25/09/2023 18:03

@LilmissCa I was due to start my maternity leave at 38+5, but would have been off work on half term from 37+3. Now I’ve been given my section date for 38 weeks, so I am just trying to decide whether I want 1 week off before my section or 2.
I don’t want to make the last few weeks drag, but I’m sure I will find things to keep me busy.
I also want as much time as possible off with the baby, but I intend on taking the full 52 weeks, which is more than I took with my DD, so would I really notice going back 2 weeks earlier much compared to if I stayed in work the extra 1 or 2 weeks and exhausted myself before the baby arrives.
I am asking myself all of these questions, but I really can’t seem to make a firm decision.

Psqueak87 · 25/09/2023 18:05

@FlyingHighFlyingLow oh no sorry to hear you’re not feeling great! Altho I kinda wish I had a bit of heaving to slow down this weight gain. 35lb and counting!

im also waiting till 39 weeks cause my mum had late babies. But who knows if it’ll happen to me, I’d love her to come out any time after 37 weeks!

Psqueak87 · 25/09/2023 18:08

@DollyGx I’ve been putting dates in my smoothies too to get even more in. I stick 5 in with berries, banana, greek yog and water, so good!

@Travellingislife yeah totally feel good today after getting so much done yday! The days I do nothing I end up feeling worse and having worse back pain!

GreenAventurinee · 25/09/2023 18:15

After the two weeks I had I can’t believe I’m saying I’m going back to work tomorrow! My partner and parents arnt delighted about this but the doctors have said if I’m feeling ok then it’s alright. I have, at most, 5 weeks left as my maternity starts when I am 37 week. Not sure when my section will be, doctor is now hopeful I will make it to then. All depends on my blood work.

Mrsrobinsonx · 25/09/2023 18:17

I’m finishing work at 35 weeks. But may do a few bits after that as I’m self employed, but SO ready! Working for myself means I never switch off and there’s nobody to fall back on so I can’t wait 😂 x

Oreopie · 25/09/2023 18:38

I'll be 37 + 4 when I finish. Taking some annual leave first so maternity won't actually kick in until 39 + 4. I can't believe how quick it's coming around!
