Early pregnancy cramps !

Hi!

I am 4+1 weeks pregnant , after suffering a chemical miscarriage in June I am petrified with every cramp I am getting!

did anyone else have constant cramps in early pregnancy- they are not very painful at all, but I can feel them there and it is getting me so anxious. I did a clear blue how many weeks test and it’s gone up to 2-3 which is giving me some reassurance but I am still so anxious and wondering wether my anxiety is causing the cramps!

please share your experience with early cramps and if any of you had constant but mild cramps!

thanks ! :)

Yes I had very painful cramps and dark spotting at 4 weeks that stopped after a week

AAK1 · 15/08/2023 10:24

@RiderofRohan thats reassuring ! Were your cramps constant?

I am currently 4+4 and since 2 days ago I’ve had constant cramps/achey feeling that never went. Today it’s eased a lot, and tests are darker, still there every now and then but nothing major and not as constant. I have also been an anxious wreck, but just have to remind ourselves this is normal as we have a baby preparing to grow in our uterus for the next 9 months!💖

AAK1 · 15/08/2023 10:39

@missmae thank you for the reassurance! I wish you all the best in your pregnancy!! I’m like you, a complete anxious wreck! Fingers crossed for us both ❤️

Yep loads of cramps at the start for the first couple of weeks at least, some of them were really quite painful - in line with if not worse than period cramps. 8+2 now, scan yesterday and all going fine 👍

AAK1 · 15/08/2023 11:23

@OhmygoshREALLY happy to hear all is going well!! I’m going to get booked in for a 6 week scan to make sure all is okay ! Wishing you a successful healthy pregnancy!

@AAK1 they were several times a day and painful. I had brown in my discharge when I wiped. After a week I went to EPU. They scanned me and couldn't see anything so I was told pregnancy of unknown location. I went back 3 days later and they found a pregnancy sac in the right place. I was booked for another scan in two weeks as it was too early for a heartbeat (still waiting on this) but I'm hopeful, especially as the cramps have now stopped.

AAK1 · 15/08/2023 11:34

@RiderofRohan oh wow okay!! Wishing you all the best hope it goes okay! Keep us posted !

@AAK1 will do thank you. I'm reassured as I feel very tired and sick this week, so hopefully it is growing as it should be.

I think you may be experiencing implantation cramping and also your uterus stretching to start accommodating the baby. That is what I put mine down to. If the cramps get worse definitely visit EPU (might need to go via your GP or A&E) but just know that if it is too soon, they may not see anything like in my case.

SlashBeef · 15/08/2023 11:41

I had strong constant cramping with all four of my pregnancies and spotting with one. I remember being really worried by it every time. Currently have four children tearing around my house driving me loopy Smile Its easier said than done but try to relax. Its very normal at this stage Flowers

AAK1 · 15/08/2023 12:02

@RiderofRohan yeah while the cramps are still mild I’m kind of keeping my cool! When I had my chemical pregnancy they basically told me to just go home because there was nothing they could do!

@SlashBeef thank you so much for this , it’s really reassuring to hear! And yes I’m trying to relax sometimes I think I’m causing the cramps myself by stressing!

I had awful pains at the start of my pregnancy, it’d come on suddenly for a few mins at a time, I’d be sweating it was that painful. I ended up at the EPU, they thought it may have been ectopic with how severe the pain was but everything turned out fine.

if you’re worried, definitely speak to someone

AAK1 · 15/08/2023 14:01

@FirstMondayInMay thank you for your experience! I would say I’m more worried because I had a chemical pregnancy last time - the cramps aren’t terrible just uncomfortable and there a lot of the time!
but seeing the lines on my tests get darker is a bit reassuring!

Hi, I have been reading everyone posts over the years and I thought I would finally post one. Read so many amazing and sad stories and was hoping to find some comfort from this. I am pregnant for the 07th time in 5 years. All my other 6 pregnancies ended in miscarriage. Most of them were chromosomal, tests all came back sporadic so have been told to keep going. I have low egg reserve at 1.1 so this is more than likely the factor of why the egg doesn't develop and cant get past 08 weeks. I was literally going to start chlomid this month to give it a try to see if I succeed in a pregnancy to stimulate my eggs before we go down the IVF route but found out i was pregnant. I have been feeling great and went for a scan at 5.5 weeks, they saw the gestational sac and yolk sac and said to come back in two weeks. They have advised me to take aspirin and cyclogest. I have been on these medications previously plus , inhixa injections and progesterone injections and all still failed, as if chromosomal nothing will help this. So I started cyclogest on Monday 07th after scan and sunday evening i experience cramps. I have had some Monday (14th) and some today - all on and off but through out the day. Is it normal to experience cramping and aches as my head is just saying Miscarriage is on way. I am trying to stay relaxed but i wont be until my next scan, which is on 22nd. I have pains in lower back, hip and aches in my legs (which could be sciatica) as I do get that from not exercising and moving around alot. I haven't continued exercising as I dont want to risk anything so having the odd walk. I know everyone body's is different and although some women get pain and blood they still go on to have baby. I havent been one of those lucky ones yet. I havnt had any bleeding as such and I know the pessaries can mask this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yes! I had to wear liners for a long time. As long as its not blood tinged or really discoloured, you're okay. Even if you do get a little streak of blood in it, don't freak out just keep an eye on it and speak to your midwife/gp Flowers

AAK1 · 16/08/2023 14:03

@SlashBeef thanks for your reply!
Im literally a test addict I’ve done so many tests I can’t help it!!! Just praying it is all okay I want these cramps to stop so I can just relax! Husband keeps telling me to chill and I’m saying you don’t know the feeling!!!

@AAK1 just wanted to update you. I had my scan yesterday and all looked well at 7.5 weeks with a little heartbeat. Hope your cramps have settled.

AAK1 · 24/08/2023 17:49

@RiderofRohan that’s a great update so happy for you!
I have a scan booked in for Tuesday I will be six weeks! Cramps are so much better I get the odd one here and there but I’m sure that’s normal!

OP posts:
RiderofRohan · 24/08/2023 18:26

@AAK1 keeping my fingers crossed for you. Yes, I think they are normal too xx

missmae · 24/08/2023 21:24

@AAK1 I also have a scan booked Tuesday where I should be 6+4! My cramps did disappear for a while but then the last 2 days they’ve been very intensive where I’ve stood still thinking I’m about to bleed everywhere. Hoping our scans go well 🤞🏼

missmae · 24/08/2023 21:25

*intense lol

Hi ladies. This is my second pregnancy and I'm 7 +5 I've had some twinges more than cramps and my belly had felt sore inside. I can't remember having this with my son but trying not to worry too much!
