Bleeding 11 weeks

Hi all,
just looking for some advice and reassurance. I’m 11+3 today and woke up in the early hours to bleeding, which is on and off all morning. Got slight backache too. Managed to get scan with the EPAU tomorrow morning but do you think it’s worth trying to get a private one today? Feel like I’m gonna go mad with the waiting. I had a scan at 9 weeks which showed a heartbeat, but have previously had two miscarriages so my mind is just thinking the worst.

So sorry Pringle - I am having similar. I had spotted quite a lot in my first trimester but scans have been fine.
Have you had any more bleeds?

Yesterday at 11+4 I had more blood then usual when wiping for a few hours then spotting . EPU weren't concerned though and I have to wait till my scheduled scan next Tuesday .

If you have a scan tomorrow I'd wait till then as that's all set.
Do let me know how you get on x

@Mangotango39 hi, sorry to hear you’re going through the same, it’s so stressful. Yeah still bleeding when I wipe. Ironically got my dating scan letter through the post this morning, been so excited to get it all week and now this :(

@Pringle2223 its so horrible seeing blood - mind just thinks the worse!
Dr reassured me it can be so so normal!

Is it heavy or like spotting ?
What weeks were your previous mc?
I have also had two but never had the spotting like this pregnancy x

Pringle2223 · 02/08/2023 12:09

@Mangotango39 last two MC were around 6/7 weeks, I’ve never got this far before. I guess it’s just spotting atm, kinda like the end of your period? I’m trying to be a bit positive but it’s just so hard, last MC was only in feb x

@Pringle2223 I think that's a really good sign they were at such a different stage.

I try to think of it as there's so much going on in the body surely things get knocked and cause bleeding 😅that's how I reason to myself anyway!

Dr said a miscarriage at this stage would have a lot more bleeding x

Pringle2223 · 02/08/2023 12:31

@Mangotango39 thats good to hear ❤️ X

In both my pregnancies I had spotting around the 10/11 week mark. Both times the babies were fine (and one was a twin pregnancy). Was told I have cervical ectropion which is where the cells at the entrance to the cervix are just a bit sensitive. Believe it's quite common. A really good sign that you saw a heartbeat and the spotting isn't too heavy. Good luck for your scan 🤞

Pringle2223 · 02/08/2023 14:18

@Glitterbug86 thank you! The thing that’s making me worry a bit more is that backache I’m having alongside the bleeding x

@Pringle2223, I had bleeding around 11 weeks - it was bright red for a couple of hours and then tapered off to brown for about a week after. I couldn't get in touch with the EPU at the time as it was a bank holiday so I did go for a private scan. All was well and they found absolutely no reason for the bleed and I'm now 21 weeks. Do you have cramps as well as back ache or just back ache?

I did manage to speak to the out of hours triage about it and although they wouldn't see me, they said that seeing a heartbeat during a scan a week before was a positive sign. I know how utterly terrifying it feels and even now I still check the toilet roll every time I go to the loo. Good luck and really hope all goes well at your scan tomorrow x

Pringle2223 · 02/08/2023 14:50

@PennyPenny1 thank you ❤️ I’ve got backache too which is making me nervous as I feel like this is how it started when I had my MC in February. Im lucky they’ve managed to get me in the next day but the wait is still so hard x

Good luck for your scan today. I know the waiting is so hard. Hopefully it will be positive news 🤞🤞
How has the spotting/backache been since?

midnights0 · 03/08/2023 09:06

Hi, I started spotting at 11+5, I went for a scan the next day and they told me my baby died at 8+3, so a missed miscarriage, this was 8 weeks ago. Please go and get checked x

midnights0 · 03/08/2023 09:06

@Uremindmeofthebabe @midnights0 @Glitterbug86 not good news unfortunately, couldn’t find the heartbeat and hadn’t grown since my last scan at 9 weeks x

Have you had any investigation following your previous miscarriages? Were you on any specific treatments for this pregnancy? If not, worth asking about testing, recurrent miscarriage investigations, and progesterone.
