@Hankthehonk I've been getting those pains on and off for weeks. Today they've ramped up but only ever on one side at a time, and they switch sides. Mentioned several times to GP and said I was concerned about ectopic but they didn't seem concerned and said nothings wrong if your not bleeding.

Got my scan on Thursday where I'll be 8w1d very anxious but excited.

MrsC2711 · 10/07/2023 16:09

Back from scan….
A bit all over the place, we (Hubby, Me, Sonographer) are 99% sure we saw a heartbeat but as so small she wants to bring me back again…. Which I don’t mind at all but I can’t wait for a scan or appointment where I feel some proper positivity rather than an overcast sky with a bit of sun peaking through lol.
I measured 5wk3days today apposed to 4weeks last Monday so extra 3 days based on what they measured last week.
I also had the private scan last week that put me a week ahead of NHS dates so basically…. My head is scrambled! Going by LMP I should be 7+1.
She was going to get me to wait 2 weeks but when I explained about my sons heart tumour and how important the heart is to me she agreed to me just waiting a week so I’m back next Tuesday!
I have my rescan Sunday at the private clinic to so let’s see what that brings 🙃
hope everyone’s doing ok. X

sludgefactory · 10/07/2023 16:47

@MrsC2711 that sounds really stressful - but the fact that you're all so sure you saw a heartbeat and that the baby has grown since your last scan all sound like good signs? Really hoping you get a more definitive result/answer on Sunday/Tuesday!

Is anyone else suffering really badly with constipation? It's really getting me down and I've tried fibre-heavy foods, DulcoSoft and no luck! The bloating is so bad I look about 12 weeks already when I'm only 7+1!
I've booked in for an early reassurance scan on Friday (so I'll be 7+5 then) - is it likely I'll be able to see a heartbeat? Also will the scan be external or internal?

C1E · 10/07/2023 16:58

Are you taking them with your main meal like they advise?

acm1996 · 10/07/2023 16:59

@LalalaBubs @babyD20 I had exactly the same from about 9 weeks onwards and worried myself silly. Booked a private scan and everything was perfect and I've still not really got any symptoms back. Tiredness and heartburn mainly.

acm1996 · 10/07/2023 17:02

@sludgefactory My first scan was at 7w1d and we saw a heartbeat. It was just a tiny indistinct blob with a flickering in the middle, looked nothing like a baby but it was so lovely to see!

acm1996 · 10/07/2023 17:03

@sludgefactory Oh and mine was external! They never mentioned the possibility of doing an internal one

C1E · 10/07/2023 17:11

At 7 weeks they did internal (they said they do that for anyone between 6-8 weeks for a good view.) I didn’t actually know it was internal (I thought that was an ‘if external doesn’t work’ thing and not knowing meant i couldn’t worry and just went with it. It was absolutely fine - a walk in the park compared to a smear 😂 also meant they got good views of ovaries and tubes.

I think everyone on here is different so probably depends on the clinic

undercoverhero74 · 10/07/2023 17:22

Is anyone else just feeling really bloated and fat. I don't recall feeling so frumpy first time round.
I went shopping today for my holiday in a couple of weeks and had to go up a size just to feel comfortable.

The tiredness is also horrific! Please please please tell me this lessens as the weeks progress. I'm only 7+3 and I'm already feeling meh 🙈🙈

mashm24 · 10/07/2023 17:31

@undercoverhero74 yessss I don't remember bloating the first time round. This time I look like a huge balloon that can't pop. It's so uncomfortable 🤣

BabyKing20 · 10/07/2023 17:41

@undercoverhero74 @mashm24 I’m the exact same, it’s unbelievable. So different to my first, and holy moly the nausea! I just arrogantly assumed all my pregnancies would be as smooth as my first!…

Bababybell · 10/07/2023 17:52

Clomid1 · 09/07/2023 22:20

@Bababybell I completely agree. I also feel in limbo without having a scan and screening tests. When is your scan? Mine is 8th August

I’ve not got an appointment yet, my booking in midwife said to chase them at 11 weeks. Mine should be at the end of July. It’s good you’ve got a date- it always seems a long time to wait!

DmcinT · 10/07/2023 17:57

@MrsC2711 oh that is good news on the progression but very confusing on the dates, although maybe they will catch up, I’ve heard of ppl measuring out by a week before and by 12/13 weeks they’ve caught up and are measuring accurately. Also if the dr isn’t worried that’s also a good sign, keeping everything crossed for u❤️

@undercoverhero74 im also very very bloated but I am on progesterone so that’s prob making mine worse (are u on it also by any chance? I know there was a few others here on it)

my nerves are really starting for my scan tomorr, I think either way I know even if everything looks good and is measuring accurately things can still go wrong after, I’m hoping my gp might scan me next week or the week after again just to help me believe this little bean is sticking. I’m also terrified of multiples again so that’s playin on my mind alot. Sorry but if a brain dump there 🙈

Tilly18101 · 10/07/2023 19:31

@MrsC2711 so glad you all saw a heartbeat - and really good news baby has grown from the last scan too. I hear it’s such a minefield so early on in terms of size/dates and babies can catch up very fast!

Un7breakable · 10/07/2023 19:34

@undercoverhero74 very bloated here as well. Looks like a baby bump but it's just bloat. Having to wear loose clothes.

He, just wondering how everyone got their midwife booking appointment.

ive had email confirmation that I will hear about it working 10 days but it’s been over that. I can’t book into badger notes, I get an error message so try via the nhs app but then that asks for my diving listen e and to record a video of me saying 4 numbers but it crashes before I do that.

I don’t t have contact details for the midwife team and the email says not to respond to it. Please tell me you got your appointments via the post or in an email

They called me up to book my appointment probably about 8 working days after I sent the form in. I actually then went in the next working day so it was very quick

Un7breakable · 10/07/2023 20:13

@SmartiesParty i got a phone call about two weeks after I'd self referred. They booked me in for a month or so later.

Alwaysconfuddled · 10/07/2023 20:24

@SmartiesParty @Un7breakable thanks, hopefully I will hear from them soon. It’s my first pregnancy so I’m not sure what to expect

Mine came in the post, wasn’t suitable as we were away but it had the number for the team to call which was just our local community midwife team and they reorganised it.

could you give your GP a call and ask for their number to check in?

Cheetocat · 10/07/2023 21:03

Hi, hope everyone is well. Been losing a tonne of brown mucus so I had an emergency internal ultrasound. They didn't say why it was happening and found it a bit hard to locate baby but eventually we saw it and a little heart beating away. I'm supposed to be 8 weeks tomorrow and they said my pregnancy looks 6 or 7 weeks which I'm a bit scared about. Hopefully it was just because baby was in an odd location. Anyone else had a similar situation?

Coming over from the other thread. I am so bloated and have gained half a stone through eating every couple of hours to stave off the nausea and trying to get some energy. I lost half a stone through vomiting in my last pregnancy but need to feel more human with a toddler to look after this time around so have really tried to keep on top of the sickness. Regular snacks and three different meds seem to have done the trick to keep vomiting in check but I'm ballooning and was already heavier at start of this pregnancy!

Had my booking last week and already had my appointments through for dating scan at 12+6 (currently 9+6), GTT at 16 weeks and women's/pelvic physio - had SPD/PGP until 2 years postpartum and it's already flaring up with all the weight gain and I presume hormone surges so requested early referral.

LavenderSweetPea · 10/07/2023 10:29

@LalalaBubs I've had the same, I have a scan tomorrow so I will let you know how it goes, but I posted this same concern earlier in the thread and both @acm1996 and@user1471460621 both said they had the same at around teh 8/9 week mark and their scans were fine. I've also got my booking in appt this morning so I am going to mention it to the midwives today and see waht they say.

@LavenderSweetPea oh it would be lovely to hear how your scan goes thank you! I'm sure from hearing from everyone who has replied feeling the same, that this is pretty normal. It doesn't take the worry away though does it😭

User0224 · 10/07/2023 22:03

First scan here tomorrow too. And also super bloated. And constipated. Joy of joys 😂
