Also due 13th but have a strong feeling I'll be earlier (based on absolutely nothing 😂). We usually go to my sisters for dinner and still plan to if possible as her food is the best!! She does something different for the main every year so I'm tempted to ask her to do fillet steaks this year so that I can have a big juicy rare one with a glass of Prosecco 😁
Told niece and nephews I need their lists by October this year (niece's birthday also on xmas day - she was an early surprise, sisters first due 18th jan) everyone else is getting vouchers!

RG84 · 18/08/2023 17:28

I'm due on the 18th but birth will be earlier as I'll be having a c section. I have my first consultant appointment on the 1st September so I really hope he gives me a date so I can start planning. I'm really looking forward to Xmas this year, my daughter will be 3.5 and more aware of Xmas. New baby and New house so we are super excited. I've already brought Xmas wrapping paper 🙈 haha...love to be organised. We are still moving bits and bobs to our new place so once that's done then I'll concentrate on baby shopping as haven't brought anything. I do however have a gorgeous moses basket that I brought last year for a photoshoot, having no idea it would come in handy a year later.

Very exited to get my csection date though. Well i hope they are able to give it on the same date..is that what happened to you ladies who have the dates already, OK your first consultant appointment?

RG84 · 18/08/2023 17:30

I mean did you get your appointment for your csection on your first consultant appointment?

VillageFete · 18/08/2023 17:56

@RG84 This was my second time seeing this Consultant. When you go, just query when you’ll get a date and they may say they’ll grab the diary and do it there and then. That’s what my Consultant did! It’s really nice to be “organised” and plan around the date, particularly when you already have a child/children. Hopefully you’ll get it at this upcoming appt.

@NoodleQueen90 A rare fillet steak 🤤 I’m so looking forward to be able to have a couple of glasses of fizz or red wine.

I’m really looking forward to Christmas with my family finally complete. Those of you who are having your first- kids just make Christmas so magical, you’re going to love it!!

Alexis7890 · 18/08/2023 19:44

@RG84 depends where you are, I have seen mine twice and asked about it and told we’ll plan a date at 36 weeks 😔 feels so late! I just know the week they are wanting to plan it for

Beans1982 · 18/08/2023 21:10

All this talk of food is making me hungry 😄
I'm a bit jealous of everyone who'll have their babies before Christmas so you'll be able to have all the amazing food and drink!
I'm due 29 December and it's my first so at the moment I'm thinking he'll either arrive on Christmas day or New Year's Day.
We usually go around my parents and I cook the bulk of the feast, so who knows what Christmas will hold this year! Looking forward to next Christmas when we'll have our little one to celebrate with😊
Good shout about gifting vouchers @NoodleQueen90 I might start to plan my Christmas shopping now!

NoodleQueen90 · 19/08/2023 06:29

It's definitely going to make me much more Christmassy having a baby to celebrate 😊 I always love Christmas Day but usually hate the stress/busy shops and general faff in the run up to it...this year it's going to be all about our gorgeous new baby and I can't wait 😁
I'm planning on trying to breastfeed so if that works out I'll be limited to one glass of fizz...from what everyone has said, that will be enough to almost send me to sleep anyway 😂

FirstMondayInMay · 19/08/2023 11:52

Christmas feels so close now! I’m due on the 14th but will be either having a section at 37/38 weeks or being induced around about the same time, depending on if my low lying placenta decides to move🤞🏼

wannabemum38 · 19/08/2023 19:37

I'm.due on 8th but as its first doubt it will be on time. Was told as im consultant led they won't let me go over too far but we have made no plans for Xmas at the moment as just no idea what's going to happen.
I had a low lying placenta at my 20 week scan really hope it moves by 32 weeks otherwise I could be heading for a c section which not keen on having but we will see .

I was just wondering how many movements everyone is having now? I'm 23+4 and it just feels like it's suddenly all the time! With some huge ones that make me jump.

I've started trying to record a bit of the timings as midwife says to but online seems to say not required!

SMG1992 · 20/08/2023 08:29

@Flowersandfloral mine is the same, I’m also 23+4 and it’s only this last week I’ve had obvious kicks. My husband can feel them too, so it’s gone from vague not quite sure if that’s a movement or gas to proper kicks
i love it though, such a nice feeling

Flowersandfloral · 20/08/2023 09:08

@SMG1992 it's the best feeling isn't it! I think I'm too excited always having to tell everyone she's awake though haha

VillageFete · 20/08/2023 09:49

@Flowersandfloral I’ve been having kicks from 18 weeks but I feel like they’re ruling my life! Some days she is really active, other days kicks are “weaker” and less of them and it stresses me out. There’s no pattern as yet - Anyone else similar? I’m 23+4

FirstMondayInMay · 20/08/2023 10:26

@VillageFete i’m 23+3 and have some days where I don’t really feel him as much but I had to go back to finish my 20 week scan and he was in the exact same position, a week later so I think he’s just lazy🤣

FirstMondayInMay · 20/08/2023 10:27

Also, has anyone else started leaking yet? I thought it’d be far too early but dr google says we produce milk from around 16 weeks!

Charlielechat · 20/08/2023 12:41

My movements do follow a pattern but I'm starting to distinguish between kicks and movements. I get lots of movements during meals and at night when lying down, but the hard kicks can be quite random still. Some days I have more kicks than others. They make me jump every bloody time 😂

bookbathnap · 20/08/2023 14:31

Hi everyone. This might be a bit unethical but hey ho. Cost of living crisis and all that. If you download the Emma’s diary app you can get 3 packs of freebies, however when I went to collect them from Boots they didn’t scan the codes leaving them active so I went to Argos and got 3 more packs 😬. Also on the boots app if you sign up to their baby club you get some free breast pads, a bottle and dummy pack and a bottle of vitamin d + folic acid.

Charlielechat · 20/08/2023 14:37

@bookbathnap what was in your packs? I read that they aren't as good as they used to be and are mainly full of coupons. I got the Aveeno baby shampoo with the parenting app - they do some good freebies! I haven't got the MAM bottle yet as it never seems to be in-store but I wonder if they have them behind the counter or something?

bookbathnap · 20/08/2023 15:06

I haven’t opened the packs yet but I’ll update when I do later. Yes the MAM bottles are behind the counter but they were sold out today. The lady said to try again in a week or so.

My hips and one bum cheek are really hurting recently. I’m trying to do some stretches but I’m just knackered all the time.

The baby is pretty active which I love except when she whacks me in the bladder. The movements are becoming more regular but yeah it’s really scary when I don’t feel anything for a while.

Re leaking nips - not had that yet just seeing a tiny bit of dried milk every now and then. Talking about milk and breastfeeding makes my boobs tingle so something is definitely going on in there!

bookbathnap · 20/08/2023 18:51

Ok so in the Emma’s diary packs I got Pampers nappies (pack of 22) and sample sizes of sudocrem, fairy washing tablet and softener, MAM breast pads, sterilising tablets, Palmers skin oil and stretch mark lotion, Klearvol capsules, liquid iron supplements and 7 days worth of Pregnacare vitamins. I definitely think it’s worth getting! Especially for the nappies.

RG84 · 20/08/2023 19:49

@bookbathnap sounds like a good starter pack. Do you just sign up to Emma's diary? How do you claim it?

bookbathnap · 20/08/2023 19:52

@RG84 download the Emma’s diary app then at the bottom click on ‘my club’ and then ‘my free packs’.

RG84 · 20/08/2023 20:24

Fab thank you. Shall try to redeem.

Anyone experiencing major pelvic pain? Walking, lying down in bed turning around causes so much discomfort. I'm waiting for an appointment for pelvic physio. Anyone else experiencing this pain and if so any recommendations on how to relive the pain?

NoodleQueen90 · 20/08/2023 21:10

@RG84 I've not but a friend of mine had very bad pelvic pain and the main thing that she tried to do was always keep her knees together eg when turning over rather than lead with one leg she had to swing both gently at the same time. Hopefully someone will be along with more knowledge but for now, I know this helped my friend keep the pain/twinges to a minimum.

Charlielechat · 20/08/2023 21:17

@bookbathnap that does sound really good!
