@Lillybobs86 I’m 21 weeks. The Consultant said that 200mg is the standard prescribed dose. Maybe it varies from trust to trust?

I do have this horrible pressure down below, and need to urinate all of the time. I’ve had white blood cells and blood in the urine but when sent off there’s been no infection. I’m so confused 😕

RG84 · 04/08/2023 12:49

I wasn't aware about all is this that you ladies are going through. I have a midwife appointment next week so I will check this then.

Charlielechat · 04/08/2023 16:03

Can anyone please help with leggings sizes 😂 When you're buying maternity leggings do you stick with your original size or do you size up? So far I've tried original size and the next size up in maternity leggings (ASOS and Lovalls) and they still don't feel very comfortable with much wiggle room. I need petite length which are doubly hard to find! I thought one size up would be plenty. Maybe it's just the brands I'm choosing!

Mushroo · 04/08/2023 16:11

@Charlielechat Wirh Lovalls I went one size up (I’m normally a 10 and went for a 12) and they fit great. I actually love them, I think they’re the softest leggings I’ve ever owned (I promise I don’t work for them!).

I’m not sure they’ll last the whole way through but for now all good.

Maybe just keep experimenting! I got the ‘everyday’ ones.

Charlielechat · 04/08/2023 16:19

Those are actually the same ones I bought @Mushroo they feel very good quality. I'm normally an 8 but bought a 10 and whilst they weren't the worst comfort wise they definitely won't last me long! Would rather have a pair that will have room for growth if you get me!

Mushroo · 04/08/2023 16:21

@Charlielechat completely get it. Maybe try the 12s so you the space. I agree, it’s so hard to find other places that do things that are both petite AND maternity!

Charlielechat · 04/08/2023 16:52

@Mushroo I've just tried on the Lovalls jeggings that I also ordered in a 10 and they have so much more give! So maybe leggings are just generally a tighter fit!

Alexis7890 · 04/08/2023 16:55

Lululemon align in normal size and have so much stretch, one size up would fit as well. I have multiple in shorts and leggings versions and love them so much

Charlielechat · 04/08/2023 17:08

@Alexis7890 oh I haven't heard of Lululemon, I will check them out too!

NoodleQueen90 · 04/08/2023 17:46

@Charlielechat I highly recommend these - CRZ YOGA Women's Butterluxe Yoga... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09P1GB319?ref=ppxpoppmobappshare

I'm usually a 10 and ordered a 12 but honestly I think any size would still be comfortable 😂 the shorter option is petite length. They're very similar to lululemon but for a fraction of the price.

Charlielechat · 04/08/2023 18:18

@NoodleQueen90 oh amazing! Thank you so much!

smldnlove · 04/08/2023 23:59

Anyone found a good sleeping position or pillow that is working well?

I’ve bought two pillows now from Amazon but still struggling with sleep and finding I have a back ache in the mornings most days. Not sure what I’m doing wrong! X

Charlielechat · 05/08/2023 00:14

@smldnlove I bought this one on Amazon prime day:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/PharMeDoc-Pregnancy-Maternity-Detachable-Extension/dp/B082PBSTDJ/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?crid=G87DG8Y9UFNH&keywords=pregnancy%2Bu%2Bshaped%2Bpillow&qid=1691190638&sprefix=pregnancy%2Bu%2Bsh%2Caps%2C100&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfYXRm&psc=1&th=1

Someone on here recommended a U-shaped one so I picked that. It's been really comfy, I hug it with the bottom bit between my knees! I got it to try and stop me rolling onto my back, but it doesn't work for that unfortunately! Still comfy though

Mushroo · 05/08/2023 07:33

@smldnlove i don’t have a particular recommendation but I watched a YouTube video yesterday and it said that if you’re using something between your knees, make sure your ankle is also supportive. Otherwise your knee to ankle is at too much of an angle, and that can cause hip pain.

Might be worth trying.

(The YouTube channel is pre and postpartum tv, it has loads of exercise / stretch videos which are really good and not too difficult)

SMG1992 · 06/08/2023 19:28

Just checking in - hope everyone is having a good weekend.
I look properly pregnant now and have to say I really like it :) who knows how I’ll feel in a couple of months though as I think I’ll be massive!

smldnlove · 06/08/2023 22:02

@Mushroo @Charlielechat thank you so so much!! Especially on the pillow between the ankles, I had no idea and makes complete sense!

@SMG1992 I also look properly pregnant now too! I also love it! It feels really special, I also weirdly feel like the only pregnant woman in the world as I see no pregnant women around at all - is it just me?!?

GingerJanee · 06/08/2023 22:44

I’ve been wearing beauty and the bump leggings they’re honestly work every penny! The most comfortable leggings ever and they come up so high with great stretch, I know I’ll be wearing them post baby too!

Has anybody found any work clothes websites? I’ve been recommended SHEIN several times but I’ve lasted this long buying off it I’d like to continue 🤣

SMG1992 · 07/08/2023 08:10

@smldnlove I'm the opposite with seeing pregnant women - I think I must notice them more now as I seem to see loads!

@GingerJanee I've been using Vinted for work clothes and have managed to find some nice Next and M&S dresses/blouses and skirts which should keep me going so it's worth checking out on there.

Charlielechat · 07/08/2023 11:18

I'm definitely showing more too but still probably not to strangers!
Have my scan tomorrow - feeling really nervous about it. Just really hope baby is developing the way they should be 🙏

We've been looking at prams/car seats online but don't want to go browsing in-store until after the scan. When is everyone else thinking of getting their prams?

RG84 · 07/08/2023 11:24

@Charlielechat Good luck with your scan tomorrow. With us all going to scans are always nerve wracking but you will be fine, all will be okay x

Does anyone's work companies offer KIT days during maternity leave? And how does it exactly work? I am yet to ask my finance manager about this but wanting to know details beforehand if anyone knows.

Alexis7890 · 07/08/2023 11:36

@RG84 yeah we can do KIT days, up to 10. If we do them we get a day of full pay (if done in the smp or unpaid period) and where I work is quite relaxed about them it can be meeting your manager for a catch up meeting or doing some relevant training or a team meeting etc for us it doesn’t have to be a full day of work just a couple of hours counts. But that bit probably varies from workplace to workplace, often allowed to take baby along if it is to have a manager catch up etc

RG84 · 07/08/2023 12:16

@Alexis7890 thanks for advising and good to know. I read about it for the first time and didn't know whether that was an actual thing. I work from home so hopefully my company will be able to offer it. I will check with them.

wannabemum38 · 07/08/2023 12:16

Hey ladies hope you are all doing OK.
I'm not showing much still but a little bump is coming and they are moving a lot. I was laying down yesterday and my stomach was moving about looked like I had an alien inside me so weird!
My work also do KIT days which I'm happy to do if it means more money as I'm only getting maternity allowance and not SMP.
I have researched prams etc as we are in flats but won't be buying anything until after the wedding which is in 3 weeks now!

OP posts:
RG84 · 07/08/2023 12:21

@wannabemum38 i'll also be getting SMP only so would be great to get KIT days.

i'm totally bumping away but as I am in the process of moving my clothes are packed and when we collected the keys the lady said I didn't look pregnant, probably because I was wearing a baggy tee. I also told my team last week but again was wearing a baggy dress so they couldn't tell. a little shocked that I am due in DEC but this time around I kept it long as possible to me due to previous MC.

Mushroo · 07/08/2023 12:23

I have my scan on Friday and planning to start shopping after that assuming all well.

Ive started looking and got a bit overwhelmed.

I assumed I wanted a travel system so I could clip the car seat into the pram, but considering newborns can’t be in the car seat for very long not sure how useful that actually is, and if I’d better with a separate longer term car seat (the maxi cosi 360 ones look good and last up to 4 years).

Then thought maybe I want a travel system with a lie flat car seat?

Also like the look of the Nuna Mixx pram.

Opinions welcome!
