3+6 symptoms, twins??

PineappleK · 24/06/2023 09:34

I've been having symptoms since 8DPO including mild cramping on and off (I assume implantation) I got my BFP on 11DPO including a high sensitivity and low sensitivity positive, pic attached. Currently 13DPO. I wondered if anyone had symptoms this early, my mouth is so dry all the time (not dehydrated) and I have mild backache, breast tenderness, extreme bloating and my appetite is so ramped up! I am wondering if it's twins but think I'm being irrational (hormones, eh!)

Please can you tell me your experiences to settle my crazy brain.

@PineappleK I had exactly these symptoms. Metallic taste (rather than dry mouth), sore boobs, SO hungry, and very bloated. I tested positive 10dpo. I’m 6+3 - not twins had a scan x

Kirstylvsya · 24/06/2023 13:38

@PineappleK can I jump in and ask what you seen at your scan? I have one booked for around 6 weeks and am panicking it's too early. X

PineappleK · 24/06/2023 13:50

No scan booked yet as very early but tempted to pay for a scan at 7 weeks but scared of booking it too soon in case I lose it. I'm terrified, no one warned me of the fear 😭

A blob 😂 but saw a heartbeat which she said was strong. It was a transvaginal scan in the end x

essynemo · 24/06/2023 14:20

I had really sore boobs and was absolutely exhausted, i got a strong positive at 9DPO- twins run in my family so i panicked it was twins 😂

I had a scan at 6 weeks by MAU because of a bleed; they found the start of a pregnancy but then 2 weeks later scanned again and they found a blob with a heartbeat but it wasn’t twins 🙂

i was also unprepared for the fear, every toilet trip dreading blood when i sat down or waking up to check i wasn’t bleeding! I had so many bleeds and had so many scans in the first 16 weeks, some private and some NHS..
Just don’t let the fear take over and try to enjoy the best you can, it feels like you’ll be pregnant forever but the time does go so fast and slow at the same time.

im 9 week post partum and missing pregnancy, however won’t be doing it again hahaha!!

moosey89 · 24/06/2023 15:19

@PineappleK the anxiety is awful - just remember you can't do anything to jinx your pregnancy, what will be will be.

@Kirstylvsya if you can, I'd recommend waiting another week until 7 weeks, as you're likely to be out of the grey zone of seeing a heartbeat then. At 6 weeks you might not see much at all, and everything could be absolutely fine but it'll just make you worry. 7 weeks is what most clinics advise (unless you're going into EPU with other issues).

Kirstylvsya · 24/06/2023 15:24

@moosey89 I should be around 6 weeks 5 days do you think that should be okay?

CR7 · 24/06/2023 15:30

My hcg blood tests were sky high and it wasn't twins. It's very early to be thinking twins so I would just try to relax and take each day as it comes x

CR7 · 24/06/2023 15:31

@Kirstylvsya definitely wait til seven if you can to give every chance of seeing the heartbeat. Going too early can put you under so much stress xx

Kirstylvsya · 24/06/2023 15:52

@CR7 I would be 6+5 would waiting 2 days make a difference? x

ShowOfHands · 24/06/2023 15:55

Very early on, HCG levels are variable across pregnancies but there's not a remarkable difference between singleton and multiples.

I had really bad morning sickness from 11 days post ovulation, bloating, fatigue, headaches. Lasted until 20 weeks. Only one baby.

Orchidflower1 · 24/06/2023 15:57

Is it your first @PineappleK ?

I had this plus twins in the family so very convinced. Turns out I had HEG for first and all subsequent pregnancies

moosey89 · 24/06/2023 16:59

@Kirstylvsya I'd always push it a couple of days rather than risk not seeing anything. I've got for the middle of week 7 for that reason. X

Daisydoo12345 · 24/06/2023 17:10

@Kirstylvsya I was 6+2 yesterday and saw a heartbeat 🤷🏼‍♀️ x

moosey89 · 24/06/2023 17:55

@Daisydoo12345 oh I'm not saying you definitely wouldn't see anything, just saying if you leave it a little longer your chances of seeing things are much higher, and that can reduce worry if you don't see what you expect to if that makes sense. Glad you saw a heartbeat 💓

Daisydoo12345 · 24/06/2023 18:00

Yes get what you’re saying all depends on size and timing x

Kirstylvsya · 24/06/2023 18:49

Thanks everyone. I changed the date and I will be 8weeks at the scan.

OP sorry for jumping
On your post x

PineappleK · 24/06/2023 20:52

Thank you all for your support, it's amazing to hear everyone's experiences! One baby is definitely enough for us, it's our first too. Think we will book a scan at just over 7 weeks, to be on the safe side. Definitely want to hear that heartbeat!

OP posts:
CR7 · 24/06/2023 21:02

@PineappleK you won't hear the heartbeat until nearer to ten weeks but you will see a flicker xx

jadey1991 · 24/06/2023 22:05

Congratulations op... I had the same symptoms as you (currently 15 weeks with baby no 4) and wondered if I was having twins.. turns out there's only 1 bubba.

PineappleK · 25/06/2023 01:16

@jadey1991 thank you, I'm sure twins would be a blessing but one is enough to keep us busy for now! How is your mouth now? Is it still dry? I'm kinda telling myself that this'll be it for 9 months and to get used to it but secretly hoping it goes as my pregnancy progresses 😂

OP posts:
jadey1991 · 25/06/2023 08:36

@PineappleK my mouth is absolutely fine now. My sense of smell is so strong tho. Lol.. and the heat is draining me. I'm sure you will be fine soon. How many weeks did u say u were

PineappleK · 25/06/2023 08:44

@jadey1991 only 4 weeks today but had the dry mouth for almost a week now, except the opposite happens when I get waves of nausea that only last about a minute. Glad to hear yours improved! I've always had a weak sense of smell but I was about 50 ft from pets at home wondering why I could smell dog, rabbit and urine, then I looked up and saw the sign, it was 2 (large) shops away!

OP posts:
jadey1991 · 25/06/2023 12:59

@PineappleK aww. So your due date is next year.. my date is 13th Dec. 4th baby, 6th pregnancy.

Yeah the sense of smell is so strong for me lol. Dry mouth for me has been OK now. I mean with this weather my mouth does get dry lol. It should stop soon

PineappleK · 25/06/2023 16:47

@jadey1991 did you have the dry mouth with all pregnancies? This is only our second cycle of TTC #1, so first pregnancy although think I had a chemical about 2 months before TTC. Had no idea until AF arrived and was totally different to normal. This time feels very different, I could definitely feel implantation and I've had loads of symptoms. My breasts are sooo sore now, I'm already looking at sports bras/maternity bras, they have gone up about half a cup size already. I only have small breasts but I feel like they will NEED support soon 😂
