Hello! Hope I can join. I got my BFP this morning and am still in a state of shock! I’m 35 and this is our first baby, second month of trying.
I was expecting it to take ages so I couldn’t believe it this morning! Main symptoms very sore boobs.
due date March 8 according to NHS calculator! Crossing my fingers it sticks.

Hopefulhoney6 · 30/06/2023 10:16

@L0uise35 I added 266 days from my date of ovulation (also used a calculator online, gave the same result) - should be more accurate than LMP if you have pinpointed ov. Then I felt implantation at 6dpo. I had my ovulation date confirmed by an ultrasound with my consultant as I’ve been going through treatment.

Hopefulhoney6 · 30/06/2023 10:19

@elarcoiris are you doing cyclogest twice a day now?

Its slightly worrying having no symptoms but my Premom app this morning said “most people don’t have symptoms until 6 weeks”.

I work in an office, lots of face to face meetings and having to be “on it” so will be hard to cope if I do get them… I’m currently in Europe on a beach though 😂

When I had my MC I still had strong pregnancy tests until 2.5 weeks after so just trying not to test this time (didn’t bring any away!)

PR96 · 30/06/2023 10:53

@L0uise35 I do 37.5 hours a week, 3 long days (7:30-6) and 2 half days (7:30-12:30/1:30) .. in a nursery. I am struggling already and I do not want to tell them for quite a while yet!

elarcoiris · 30/06/2023 12:21

@Hopefulhoney6 Yeah, I’ve been doing 2 a day since I was 3dpo as that’s what the consultant told me to do. Did actually have a couple of days of light spotting (which I think now was implantation bleeding) where I did a sneaky extra one just in case it helped 🙈 My friend who recently conceived via IVF was on 4 + injections so figured 3 wouldn’t hurt, although no idea if it made any difference!

I have some v mild nausea and food aversions (particularly coffee!) and quite a lot of heartburn every time I eat or drink anything, but that has been consistent with previous pregnancies (both successful and otherwise) so trying not to read too much into it!

V jealous that you’re away atm! We’re planning on going towards the end of August when I’ll hopefully be close to 12 weeks. Mainly because we’re supposed to be moving house mid-July although have been on the brink of exchanging contracts all week and still hasn’t happened 😬

BraveHeart91 · 30/06/2023 13:02

afternoon ladies how’s everyone feeling today?

I have a scan on Monday at the early pregnancy unit at the hospital and I’m feeling extra worried and nervous 😬.

anyone still getting cramps and pains ? I never had any implantation bleeding I can’t remember if I did with my others. But everytime I get the cramps or pains I automatically think I’m gonna lose the baby.

PR96 · 30/06/2023 15:36

@BraveHeart91 I'm the same.. if I get a twinge I end up going to the loo and expect to see blood. I wish I didn't find out this early.. I was an early tester with my son too. The next 8 weeks will drag!

I've recently moved house and getting pregnant has meant I've had to change my gp surgery (hadn't got round to it yet) but now don't know how long to wait to call the new surgery to tell them I'm pregnant.. any ideas?

Lemon1111 · 30/06/2023 15:41

Hi me too, took a test today and predicted due date 8th March 🥰 I really hope it sticks this is my first baby, but I had an ectopic 18 months ago xxx

Kirstylvsya · 30/06/2023 16:11

Random question guys but do you think apple cider vinegar is okay in pregnancy? X

Hopefulhoney6 · 30/06/2023 16:45

@PR96 I don’t think you need to call the GP as most hospitals allow you to self refer on the website. I have just done self referral at local hospital on their website, rather than telling GP. If your hospital doesn’t I don’t see the harm in telling them straight away.

I was wary of registering in case it’s a loss, but I also want that loss on my record, hence why I have already self referred.

Hopefulhoney6 · 30/06/2023 16:46

@elarcoiris fingers crossed with the house move!! And yes, an extra one won’t do any harm

summertimes2021 · 30/06/2023 16:55

Can I join. Third baby currently 4 weeks 4 days. I have a scan booked for 7 weeks with the EPU team due to spotting after bfp.

I haven't had any spotting since Tuesday really and my tests have been getting darker (I have taken far too many)

We are due to go away to Greece on our honeymoon next week.

Is anyone due March 2024!?
PR96 · 30/06/2023 17:10

@Hopefulhoney6 do they not do the community midwife appointments at the gp? (Booking appointment and non scan appointments) I'll have a look in to self referring next week if my trust do it.. want to get to 5 weeks first!

Hopefulhoney6 · 30/06/2023 20:13

@PR96 So from my experience you do all the referral through the hospital and then the booking appointments / non scans are at the GP (or a local GP, so mine wasn’t at my actual GP but another close one) but it gets arranged by the hospital.

glasspaw · 30/06/2023 20:22

It’s different depending on your district I think. First pregnancy I contacted the go and they assigned a community midwife (who I saw at the practice), they’ve now switched to a self referral system where you complete an online form once you are 5 weeks pregnant and then they contact you with your booking in appointment.

PR96 · 30/06/2023 20:29

Thanks @Hopefulhoney6 and @glasspaw .. I'll wait till I'm 5 weeks and call the gp and see if they do a referral or if I do it. My first pregnancy I told the go and then they contacted me to have appointments at their practice. The gp I've just registered woth (once it's completed) is within walking distance and I don't drive so hopefully I don't have to go too far!

PamelaShipman80 · 30/06/2023 20:41

Definitely up for a FB group!

anyone else getting super bloated of an evening?! Feel like I’ve got a bump already, definitely going to be ordering some maternity leggings soon! Registered with the midwife today!

PamelaShipman80 · 30/06/2023 20:43

Has anyone got a good pregnancy app? I’ve got Flo and Pregancy+ but I remember them being better last time I was expecting..?

GoingToInfinity · 30/06/2023 20:45

@PamelaShipman80 I'm feeling super bloated tonight too.

I use the Ovia pregnancy app, and did so with my first too. I'm definitely a fan.

Prudence00 · 30/06/2023 21:23

@PamelaShipman80 yes so bloated! I have severe IBS which due to being pregnant I’ve had to stop taking medication for so I was unsure whether it was IBS or pregnancy causing it! Each evening I feel the size of a house!

I have the pre-mom, what to expect and pregnancy+ apps. I can’t say that any have been amazing but the what to expect one has some good videos/articles.

KatY9876 · 30/06/2023 21:37

@PamelaShipman80 I have Ovia pregnancy, it tells you week by week what is happening with you and baby. And gives a insight each day. I find it very easy to use.

Kirstylvsya · 30/06/2023 22:44

5 weeks exactly today and it's the first evening I've noticed the bloat. It's so bad and it hurts Confused

L0uise35 · 30/06/2023 23:31

@PamelaShipman80 I have very bad bloating at the minute, like proper bloat bump haven't a clue how I am going to hide it.

I use the babycentre app, it's really good

namechanged241 · 30/06/2023 23:45

Anybody else feeling extremely bloated? 😬 didn't know it was possible this early on! Certainly don't remember it the first time around.

namechanged241 · 30/06/2023 23:46

Just seen previous comments re bloating, glad it's but just me!
