Had the letter through today for my dating scan - 23 August 😱suddenly feels very real.

PamelaShipman80 · 11/07/2023 16:22

@Wotchaz ooh how exciting! Still feels so long away though, I’ll be 12 weeks at this point too

FortheBeautyoftheEarth · 11/07/2023 16:45

Can I join this thread??I have just found out I'm due March 16 2024🙌 A bit scary, as it's my first baby and it's taken 4 years to get here. Nice to be part of this thread :)
First things I've noticed are sleepiness, clumsiness, and a slight sicky feeling. Happy days 😁

Kay00 · 11/07/2023 17:29

@FortheBeautyoftheEarth welcome and congratulations! I'm expecting my first too, and it also took us 4 years (plus a couple of rounds of IVF and an operation on my ovaries). It's almost unbelievable to be on a thread like this... Finally 🙌

Hello all I hope you don't mind me joining. I found out last week I am pregnant with my first! I genuinely didn't believe it was ever going to happen and I didn't do any ovulation tests or anything and didn't overthink about it and bam it worked 😅.

So working out from my LMP I think I am 4+6 so 5 weeks bang on tomorrow!
Due date is I think 13 March!
Tempted to pay and book an early scan as my husband might miss my 12 week scan due to being away with work ☹️.

How is everyone feeling?? Anyone like still not believe it's true because I feel like until I see a scan I will not believe it 😅

Congratulations! I also found out last week that I’m pregnant with my first and according to my LMP, I’m due the day before you!

And I feel the exact same. I’ve booked an early scan for 8 weeks and my anxiety is through the roof.

katie1509 · 11/07/2023 17:44

@Bec1328 congratulations too😁! Glad I'm not the only one! I'm away with work for 2 days so I'm just trying to act normal and not freak out and buy more tests 🙈! I just struggle to believe its true until I can see a scan!

Ap24 · 11/07/2023 19:06

Thank you for all your kind words. I'm trying to be kind to myself.

Welcome to everyone who has just found out.

I've had the worst headache all day, and along with the nausea and stomach ache from constipation I gave up and got into bed this afternoon. I'm working the rest of the week and I'm not sure how it will go. I don't want to tell anyone but at the same time I'm aware I may have to. How is everyone finding work?

blodyn91 · 11/07/2023 19:39

Joining the sickness camp today! I was out with a colleague all day visiting customers, didn't stop for lunch till 2:30pm (that was a quick Maccy Ds in the car). He almost had to stop the car for me to throw up 3 times, but managed to kind of keep it in, wind the window down and shut my eyes. He 100% will assume I'm pregnant 🤣🤣

Hello and congrats to all the new thread arrivals 🤗 some wonderful conception stories as well! 4 years is such a long wait 🥹🥹🥹

Anybody with a toddler and a partner thats away? Mine works shift, so hone alone every night this week. Just sat down for dinner now, toddler is covered in mud after a dog walk 🙈🙈

krissy12 · 11/07/2023 20:46

hi everyone has anyone had any spotting. I think I'm about 4 weeks and had some brown / dark reddy brown spotting this morning. only a little bit but stressed to the max.
hoping it is just implantation but not sure

L0uise35 · 11/07/2023 20:48

Hey @Ap24 I am struggling with work I travel alot and have so much travel next week that I already feel tired. I took today off just to try and catch up on sleep and rest.
I've had bad nausea but the vomiting started today

LeopardLover · 11/07/2023 21:22

@Ap24 Oh so sorry you're feeling so unwell! 😔 There's an awful head cold going around at the moment if you need a different illness 🙈 do you work from home or have to go in?

@blodyn91 omg you poor thing! Definitely claim food poisoning 😅 my husband is home but toddler just went to sleep 😫😴

@krissy12 Sorry you're feeling so stressed! Could definitely just be implantation, it's a good sign it was just a little and you don't have loads of cramping. I have a few friends who had bleeding early on and all was well xx

krissy12 · 11/07/2023 21:27

@LeopardLover thank you I have had both outcomes before so just need to see what happens although the spotting I've had before was between 6 and 8 weeks not this early

LeopardLover · 11/07/2023 22:05

@krissy12 Crossing my fingers for you!! X

Kay00 · 11/07/2023 22:20

@krissy12 I had similar spotting between 4 and 5 weeks. It has stopped now (I'm 6+2) but I'm booking an early reassurance scan just in case.

krissy12 · 11/07/2023 22:27

@kay00 I'm glad to hear yours has stopped
I think I will book a scan to if everything stays ok I'm going to try the epu first at 6 weeks because I had a mmc in Feb I might be eligible for progesterone if I still have spotting but they need evidence of a viable pregnancy on scan first and I know I'm too early for that just now

Kay00 · 11/07/2023 22:42

@krissy12 I was told similar. I actually have loads of progesterone pressaries at home, as I was about to start an IVF cycle. But when I spoke to EPU they told me not to take them, and they wouldn't see me until I was 7 weeks. Luckily, the bleeding has stopped, hopefully it stays that way.

Aah @Kay00 that's amazing 😀Yes it is a bit surreal after so long isn't it?!!
We were on the verge of doing IVF. I'm still nervous getting through the next few weeks and to the 12 week point! Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy 💐💐

Work was ok for the first day after finding out but yesterday was a bit of a struggle - so tired and slept badly last night (Anyone else having mad dreams?) so I am not looking forward to today. I can see it will be tricky keeping this a secret! I have confided in my sister (she did the same with me when she had her first) but that's it! I think it's good to have someone you can talk to about it.

I hope you feel a bit better today @Ap24 and work goes better.

Hopefulhoney6 · 12/07/2023 09:05

@krissy12 I had spotting last week at 5+2, EPU scanned me and saw the gestational sac (still says “pregnancy of unknown viability” on my notes - I think because of no embryo yet), but they offered me progesterone at 5 weeks due to my MMC. So you may be able to see them earlier.

spotting happened when I went to the gym and lifted weights, so stopping until I have my scan at 7+1.

I was already on progesterone from a private consultant anyway, as I have been treated by him for scarring in my uterus caused by the ERPC. He had me on it from ovulation - I find the private consultants are much more laissez afire about prescribing. His view is it can’t harm!!

vix_85 · 12/07/2023 09:25

I've also been taking progesterone since I found out, due to RPL. NHS delay until viable pregnancy but others say from positive test.

JamieJ93 · 12/07/2023 10:25

Hiya!!! Due on my period today, did six (yes im a weirdo) strip tests yesterday with different urine samples each time. Now, I had 6 vvvv faint positive tests, im not going to get excited at the moment as I've had previous chemicals and the line is not dark enough for me to believe it yet haha. So, I'm joining this thread provisionally lol!!! Xxx

Kay00 · 10/07/2023 15:29

I'm so sorry to hear that @JessPP 😖

Thank you ❤️ best wishes to you

krissy12 · 12/07/2023 12:32

Thanks @Hopefulhoney6 if I get anymore spotting I will give them a phone

MercuryTTC · 12/07/2023 13:17

How long did it take you all to get materials through from the hospital? I self referred last Tuesday and haven't heard a thing since.

PR96 · 12/07/2023 13:39

@MercuryTTC I self referred last week too and I got a automated response saying a midwife will contact me at some point before 8 weeks and if I don't hear from them call them.. I hate the waiting!
