@GoingToInfinity Wow, this is great! It's hard to get 3+ 🤣xx

Prudence00 · 08/07/2023 07:45

@ShitImPregnant @SJ456 - unfortunately when doing my research (as this is also my first) I didn’t find it all in one place. The following seemed to be the most appropriate scans/tests I found but I’m sure some of the already mums on here can add to it:

  • Private scan usually best from 6 weeks (but can go before though). Before 12 weeks it looks like it’s an internal scan rather than an ultrasound. They can usually tell you the gender much earlier than the NHS too. £50-100
  • 3D/4D scans £60-100
  • Gender DNA test from 6 weeks which is 99.9% accurate. £120-150
  • Harmony test - this is a blood test checking for downs, Edwards and patau syndromes. It’s recommended to take as early as possible from 10 weeks. £350-500
Hopefulhoney6 · 08/07/2023 07:48

@Prudence00 just to add that you can find out the gender through the Harmony test (for free) without paying for a gender test if you want to save money.

@GoingToInfinity I got 3+ this morning too! Wasn't fmu either! I think I'm 5+2 today. I never got 3+ in my last pregnancy, the test came up with an error instead so this makes me happy.
Going to try and stop testing now.. LOL

I've had a rollercoaster few days. Did a test late on Thursday and jr was negative. Did a digi and it said not pregnant: I'd gotten a pregnant reading before.

Freaked out but realised could be because it's late, ive drank a lot had had a lot of wees that day.

First thing the next morning did another digi and said pregnant 1-2.. that was yesterday morning

This morning when I wiped there was blood and there was blood in the toilet but was hard to tell how much as it was dark and the lights broke.

Im now having v light spotting and cramps but I can't tell if the cramps are what I've been having or period cramps. I do remember going to the dr with my first with cramps and everything was fine but I didn't have the bleeding.

Im praying it doesn't turn into a period and I'll book a scan for next sunday if I don't come on.

It's been such an emotional few days

pambeeslyhalpert2 · 08/07/2023 09:14

Also I didn't realise but I'm 5 weeks today. I've still been getting 1-2 pregnant on the CB... it should be 2-3 now??

vix_85 · 08/07/2023 09:19

I think everyone is a bit different on HCG progression so try not to worry if things are different (says she who overthinks everything!)

I'm between 4w5d and 5w (no LH peak recorded) and got my 2-3w on digital this morning. Finally a little bit of reassurance as my temp is at last right up too and progression on cheapy strip tests. Yay!

GoingToInfinity · 08/07/2023 09:23

@PR96 look how dark that line it too! Congrats ❤️

I've got two cheapy tests left which I'll probably pee on at some point but I'm determined that I will not purchase any more!

GoingToInfinity · 08/07/2023 09:24

@pambeeslyhalpert2 you poor thing, how worrying. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that the bleeding stops and that it was just a little blip. Sending love ❤️

PR96 · 08/07/2023 09:35

@pambeeslyhalpert2 that sounds awful. I'm so sorry you're having to go through it! Fingers crossed it's just a blip like @GoingToInfinity said and all will be okay xx

vix_85 · 08/07/2023 09:43

@pambeeslyhalpert2 sending lots of hugs your way and keeping everything crossed for you x

LeopardLover · 08/07/2023 11:51

@pambeeslyhalpert2 Sounds like an upsetting few days! The digital tests are tricky ones, it takes a lot of HCG to get 3+ and you'll see endless threads about women really far into pregnancy still don't get 3+! Also, if you implanted late it's possible your timing is off. If you read the clear blue digital instructions you need to add 2 weeks to it. So 1-2 weeks means around 4 weeks. Is that what you are?

Really hoping this is some excess blood from implantation xx

LeopardLover · 08/07/2023 11:56

Great research! Probably worth adding you have more chance of seeing a heartbeat if you have a scan after 8 weeks. 😊 You can usually get a gender scan from 16 weeks, instead of waiting until the 20 week NHS scan.

The Harmony test includes a scan and the blood test is non-invasive versus amniocentesis (if you are high risk, amniocentesis is an option on the NHS).

LeopardLover · 08/07/2023 11:57

@Prudence00 sorry that last message was for you 😊

Prudence00 · 08/07/2023 12:50

@Hopefulhoney6 - thank you I didn’t know that and it means less appointments.

@pambeeslyhalpert2 - Take those digital tests with a pinch of salt, many people never see the 3+. Definitely call 111 if you’re worried. Hope the spotting stops soon x

@LeopardLover - thank you. I have my private scan booked at nearly 9 weeks so hoping start feeling less worried and more excited once all confirmed ok.

Wotchaz · 08/07/2023 13:17

@pambeeslyhalpert2 im sorry you’ve had so much worry, hope the bleeding settles down - definitely worth trying to get hold of EPU/GP on Monday.

Wotchaz · 08/07/2023 13:18

I’m 5+1 today and the nausea is really starting to kick in. Food preferences completely changed I can’t face the thought of cups of tea or anything sweet.

I went off tea with my son! I'm enjoying all the decaf I can before it happens again 😅 I'm quite looking forward to some food aversions, definitely doesn't feel real for me yet as I'm without symptoms! X

Hello everyone
so I went for nhs scan due to some bleeding last week at the early pregnancy unit and i felt it was very rushed we wasn’t reassured and got told very early pregnancy come back on the 17th so they can get proper measurements. But everything is growing in right place.

sooo anyways my private scan was today this morning and everything was looking fine saw heart beating away. My partner then said can you check to see if there’s another baby and we’ll to my surprise there’s baby number 2. One is measuring at 5w6d and baby number 1 is 6w1d

so safe to say I’m expecting twins 😮🥹
Im in shock.
