@PamelaShipman80 @MamaToJB Interesting re 39 weeks for planned c section 🤔 ! I'm also going to have one following a traumatic birth (not emotionally I might add). Can't help re c section at weekends but intrigued!

wonderland28 · 03/07/2023 11:35

Hope everyone is doing well today! 💗

I’ve been waking up at 5am with cramps for the last few days but they ease off if I move around which I think is okay but does anyone have any tips for handling nausea at work? I travel a lot for work and I can’t take regular breaks because of my job but I currently feel sick whenever I move 😂

This is hopefully going to be my first but I have anxiety and don’t have anyone at home to talk to about things and I’m driving my other half mad Googling things everyday!

PR96 · 03/07/2023 12:19

I obviously had to test today as I didn't yesterday and there's line progression! Whoop!

Got my digital response today. Can't believe it. Ive already text my old community midwife who I got on so well with and shes going to be my MW with this one. Can't wait to see her! I've completely forgotten what to do tho how do we even make a booking app 😂🤦‍♀️

I'm loving seeing these line progressions!

I had an emg c section with my first so having a planned one next time. Will work out well with sorting childcare and husbands work.

Hope everyone's feeling okay. I ate a lot of ritz for nausea last time. I'm feeling abjt sick but nothing major!

@PR96 Exciting! I really want to pick up some of these test but I can never seem to find them, mind me asking where do you get them from? X

RosieS22 · 03/07/2023 13:04

Hi, I've been testing the last couple of days but just taken these. Still faint but darker than my fmu tests at 7am. AF due tomorrow so will probably test again then to make sure they're getting darker. It's still early days 🤞🏼

GoingToInfinity · 03/07/2023 13:42

@wonderland28 I buy ones like these on Amazon. Packs of 20 for like £7

GoingToInfinity · 03/07/2023 13:47

Been trying to get my head around mat pay and stuff and spiralling a bit. How do people ever afford to have a baby?!

I feel like I've managed to make a successful budget with savings goals for the upcoming months before mat leave. It's going to be tight but we'll have to make it work. It's hard as my son is of an age where he's constantly wanting something or other, or to go out on day trips etc but too young to really appreciate the true costs of things. Being the only child for the first 6 years of his life he's not very often heard the word 'no' when it comes to buying things but he's going to be hearing it a lot now. Money is going to be tight for a few years.

wonderland28 · 03/07/2023 14:25

@GoingToInfinity I’ll have a look on Amazon again! All the ones I saw had dodgy reviews 😂

I’m the same re Mat Pay, I’m self employed so not entirely sure how it works, I don’t know how you’re supposed to afford it with everything going on atm!

KatY9876 · 03/07/2023 14:44

I spoke to midwife today, I have self referred to EPU for early scan due to 2 previous miscarriages, I have a scan booked for 7 weeks.

GoingToInfinity · 03/07/2023 14:54

@wonderland28 not sure if I'm allowed to post a link but I got MomMed ones. 20 tests for £6.79.

LeopardLover · 03/07/2023 15:20

@GoingToInfinity Honestly, I'm not sure how we'll manage now prices have gone up! But I love the thought of being strict with a savings plan. I'm going to copy this once next pay day comes around and I feel a bit more settled in the pregnancy ❤️ we also spoil our 2 year old 😅 but he's not particularly demanding... for now 🤣

@wonderland28 I use easy@home but the review aren't great 😅

@KatY9876 That's good news and will hopefully bring some reassurance.

@PR96 Awesome line progression 👌🏻 it's so nice to see!

@pambeeslyhalpert2 Haha I love that you've text your old community midwife 👌🏻 I really liked mine too. 😊

Hopefulhoney6 · 03/07/2023 15:53

@Wotchaz if you add 266 days to your ovulation date, which it sounds like you know, that should give you your due date :)

I’ve had some light spotting today 🙈 trying not to worry as I know it’s normal in early pregnancy especially when brown but I had it before my last MC so it’s a bit worrying!!!

MrsG2907 · 03/07/2023 16:50

Hi, I hope you don’t mind me joining!
I’ve had a bit of a surprise, I hadn’t started trying yet and got a load of positive OPK’s which confused me and turns out it was because I am pregnant already.
I think I’m about 5ish weeks
I hope everyone is feeling okay? This is my second, the first took quite a few months of actively trying so this has come as a shock x

PamelaShipman80 · 03/07/2023 17:00

@GoingToInfinity yes mat pay is a bit of a worry for me too, I also have a 4 year old who very rarely gets told no! I think I definitely know this time round what is essential and what isn’t. I do need to re-buy a few big items eg pram too, I’ve kept allll my little girls clothing so won’t need to buy any of this one is a girl!!

GoingToInfinity · 03/07/2023 17:02

@PamelaShipman80 yes I feel like I know what it's worth spending money on this time & not. We've still got a few bits from my sons's first year clothing wise, and we have a Moses basket & swing. I'm hoping we'll get a second hand cot, and I want my one and only splurge to be a travel system, as we bought cheap last time and had to keep upgrading.

PamelaShipman80 · 03/07/2023 17:10

@GoingToInfinity we did the same!! I really wanted a bugaboo fox but could never justify the cost, and got cheap. I’ve started looking at them second hand/refurbished though thinking I could sell it back on maybe.

elarcoiris · 03/07/2023 17:59

@PamelaShipman80 I got a secondhand bugaboo bee last time and it lasted really well! Only got rid of it as we moved out of London and it wasn’t so well suited to the country walks with its tiny wheels!

This time will hopefully inherit a friend’s Uppababy Vista as she’s done with it 🤞

Otherwise we still have most of the big stuff (or it’s in circulation with friends and family and will come back to us for our second) but was quite ruthless with passing clothes on to others for some reason!

L0uise35 · 03/07/2023 18:02

Hey all, I went to the doc today to confirm pregnancy and because of my blood clotting disorder. My usual doc is on leave to 14th so no I had a locum and it just was not a nice experience. I felt so stupid. I am 4 weeks 4 days and this is my first. When I told her I was pregnant she didn't even make eye contact and just said what do u want me to do and why did your doctor want to know straight away. I felt like crying and extremely deflated.
She has referred me to EPU though but it was just not how I expected my first appointment to go. Feeling very sad and a bit stupid

Hopefulhoney6 · 03/07/2023 18:23

@L0uise35 sorry you feel like that and don’t feel stupid!! It is a strange one, but GPs often don’t really get involved in pregnancy. It is usually handled by hospitals and midwives (although I think you said you’re in Ireland). Good news about EPU though, as from my experience they are always very kind. Do you think your disorder means you need to be prescribed Clexane or something??

Hopefulhoney6 · 03/07/2023 18:23

Anyone else with spotting?!

Hopefulhoney6 · 03/07/2023 18:24

Oh and @L0uise35 definitely don’t feel stupid! She obviously had bad bedside manner….

L0uise35 · 03/07/2023 18:37

@Hopefulhoney6 my GP had said to me to make sure to let him know when I became pregnant as he treated me when I had my DVT and when I was thinners , also here the referral usually goes through the doctor.
I will be on heparin injections or aspirin.
I am 4 weeks 4 days which I thought would be too early for EPU

PR96 · 03/07/2023 19:04

@wonderland28 they're from amazon!

thebloatisreal · 03/07/2023 19:08

Guys please help a gal out - i done this today & Yesterdays didnt have any line.. not even an evap. Does this look like an early positive? This was done 2hours ago. I know its likely an evap but it does have colour to it😭😫 I hate having irregular cycles. Im on CD 38: no idea when/if ovulation occured x
