6 weeks and no symptoms

I’m 6+3 and in my last pregnancy I had hg that started bang on 6 weeks and lasted until my son was born. Apart from a missed period and feeling exhausted I have no other symptoms. The last time I had this I went on to have a mmc. I’m just concerned this will happen again. The cycle before I fell pregnant I had a chemical and I can’t relax now knowing that I’m not feeling overly sick at all. Has anyone had hg previously and then had a healthy pregnancy with no symptoms?
I’m so paranoid something is wrong but I equally do not want an early scan. I had one at 8 weeks and then I went on to have my mmc.

Hey @Littlemissc93
sorry to hear of your previous loss
I have never had hg before so I can’t comment on that but I am about 5 and a half weeks and I’ve only had sore boobs and tiredness. I am worried about lack of symptoms but from reading posts on here it seems to be quite common

USaYwHatNow · 07/06/2023 23:21

I'm sorry to hear of your previous losses. I am a midwife and have looked after women who have previously had HG, been so scared to be pregnant again and have gone on to have the more usual morning sickness type symptoms. Also from a personal perspective I didn't have any symptoms until 7+2. I felt extremely smug until that morning when I rolled over, got out of bed and promptly puked all over the floor 😂

Littlemissc93 · 08/06/2023 21:17

@Pen40 I really hope it is normal! I really don’t want to be ill but it was the reassurance that there definitely was a baby. My boobs are starting to hurt and I’ve been feeling sick on and off. Is this your first pregnancy?

Hi, I’m sorry for your losses - if it helps my first and second pregnancies were quite different symptoms wise

Littlemissc93 · 08/06/2023 21:19

This is reassuring to read, thank you so much! My mum had the usual morning sickness so it completely threw me last time round! Oh no! I got one whiff of my partners aftershave this morning and that made me feel sick so maybe I’ll be puking in a week or so! 🥴

7+4 weeks here and no symptoms aside from significant fatigue.

I think its fairly normal for symptoms to not only vary person to person but pregnancy as well

PickledScrump · 08/06/2023 21:34

My second I had no symptoms, she was an absolute breeze. I’ve seen a lot of people saying they have had lots of sickness and various symptoms and still go on to miscarry. Unfortunately there really isn’t any signs things are ok or not ok in the early weeks.

CaribbeanCupcake · 08/06/2023 21:40

I'm 6 weeks and have no symptoms, felt sick all day yesterday but back feeling fine today and that's all I've had! I'm trying not to worry but it's so hard, this is an IVF baby and it took 3 1/2 years of TTC, so the anxiety is real! 🤕

Littlemissc93 · 10/06/2023 19:16

Thank you everyone for the reassurance! Losses make any pregnancy even more of an anxious time! @CaribbeanCupcake keeping 🤞🏻for you! I heaved for the first time yesterday and now today nothing. I am feeling really hungry all the time though 🥴 my boobs are aching a bit more but the nausea comes and goes. @Firsttimerugbymum the tiredness is unbearable! I’m a teaching and by 10am I’m ready for a nap.
@PickledScrump this is what I keep trying to tell myself, what will be will be. Maybe it’s a girl and I’m going to breeze through! 🥴🤞🏻

Hi everyone, just wondering if your symptoms have kicked in yet? I’m 6weeks +3 (going from date of my last period) and I haven’t got any symptoms still… I’m thinking of booking an early scan - just wanted to hear how you are all getting on x

CaribbeanCupcake · 13/06/2023 12:47

@Pen40 I'm a day ahead of you and no nothing. I have a scan booked for next week but it's driving me mad feeling so normal! I've had a couple of hours here and there of feeling sicky but so rarely

Strawberry06 · 13/06/2023 12:55

@Littlemissc93 so sorry for your previous loss. I'm 6 weeks today and no symptoms really other than severe bloating (I look about 7 months!)

I also had a MMC back in January when I was 8 weeks (though baby was only 6 weeks) and I also had no symptoms during that one apart from sore boobs. I've had the odd twinge in my nipples this time round but my boobs felt far worse last time. Lack of symptoms does worry me but just trying to tell myself it will be ok! Its reassuring to know I'm not the only one though.

I decided against an early scan purely for what you said. For everything to be ok then turn out to be a loss.

Jaystarlight · 13/06/2023 13:40

Hi I am 6 w tomorrow and prev HG sufferer x 3. One loss. I am feeling very nauseas on and off but no vomiting as yet with prev was horrendous from week 5! Would do anything to sail through with no hosp admissions .

Littlemissc93 · 13/06/2023 14:06

Hiya @Pen40 ive heaved a few times (and I’ve never been so happy 🥴) and my boobs have been sore on and off. The sickness comes and goes, I think it gets worse when I haven’t eaten. It’s still no where near as bad as my first pregnancy! Smells are starting to bother me, even watching my partner put some rice in the bin made me heave 🥴. I’m just hoping this is a different pregnancy and my body is getting used to the hormones!

@CaribbeanCupcake let us know how your scan goes!

@Strawberry06 I’m so sorry you’ve been through a mmc too. It really takes away the innocence and excitement of your current pregnancy. Even now (7+2) I’m constantly checking when I go to the toilet!
I know scans are for some people but I’m glad I’m not the only one that thinks this!

@Jaystarlight I’m with you in this! I hope I don’t get HG ever again and the hospital admissions were not fun! I am glad I’m feeling sick and smells are bothering me both I’m not wishing the HG back anytime soon!

Has anyone heard about their booking appointment yet? Even though they’re boring I’d like to see a midwife just to let them know how anxious I am!

Strawberry06 · 13/06/2023 14:10

@Littlemissc93 I'm hoping the midwife rings me tomorrow to arrange booking appointment (she only works Wednesdays!). Last time, my booking in appointment was the same day I had to go into hospital to have my scan to tell me there was nothing there. So I'll be really happy once I make it to that as I've got A LOT to say lol. I'm actually seeing my GP on Monday though (for something different but kind of pregnancy related) so I'm pleased about that.

Jaystarlight · 13/06/2023 14:29

@Littlemissc93 really struggling to eat fancy nothing and so tired also battling g with mint toothpaste 🤢 HG was one of the worst experiences of my life so I’m terrified of it! Keep me posted how you are doing. I need to force myself to eat but I can’t it’s awful, just want to cry esp when my 6 yo wants to play x

Littlemissc93 · 13/06/2023 14:39

@Strawberry06 thats so much better having them earlier so you can talk about any worries. Last time I had my book appointment at 10 weeks and my first scan was at 12+6! It’ll be good for you to talk things through and hopefully they’ll be sympathetic l! My go are awful but my midwife was lovely although hard to get hold of!

OP posts:
Littlemissc93 · 13/06/2023 14:43

@Jaystarlight that is awful when you want to eat but everything makes you sick. Cleaning my teeth is also dangerous and it’s making me heave! Will do and you too! I’ve been feeling really sick today and all I want to do/need to do is lay down but my 1 year old has other ideas!! x

Littlemissc93 · 14/06/2023 08:41

Morning everyone! Urgh I finally understand the saying “be careful what you wish for.” I’m feeling so sick and sorry for myself this morning 🤢 I hope everyone is feeling ok!

OP posts:
Strawberry06 · 14/06/2023 08:48

@Littlemissc93 oh no I hope you don't have it too bad. I keep wondering if I'm feeling sick but I'm not sure. I notice it more when I've not eaten. I've been having terrible lower back pain though, just hope everything is ok!

Littlemissc93 · 14/06/2023 08:52

I’ve just had to run with my little one to throw up not long after I posted 🤦🏼‍♀️ I even took my cyclizine about an hour ago. My sickness does seem to be worse when I’ve not eaten but nothing is appealing or settling my stomach! I had back pain for weeks 4-5 but thankfully that seems to have settled. It hurts when I cough or sneeze just like last time, I haven’t missed that either!

OP posts:
CaribbeanCupcake · 14/06/2023 15:10

Oh no @Littlemissc93 hope youre ok! Haha it is so be careful what you wish for!
Fatigue hit like a ton of bricks yesterday afternoon! Had a 2 hour nap, woke up and had dinner then went back to bed and slept til my alarm this morning! Hoping it's not the same today as working later!
But happy as woohooooo a symptom!! 🤣🤣

Littlemissc93 · 14/06/2023 18:11

@CaribbeanCupcake I’ll be happy as long as it’s not going to lead to HG! Oh bless you, the fatigue is not a pleasant symptom! But yayyyy that it’s appeared! I’ve only eaten really small amounts of plain food and when my little one has slept I have too. I’m back into work tomorrow so not sure how I’m going to cope without a nap!!

Littlemissc93 · 18/07/2023 19:37

Just a quick update incase anyone comes across this thread! My sickness got progressively worse (and I’m still suffering now). I’ll have a few good days and then the heaving begins! Yesterday I had my 12 week scan and everything is looking good so far 🤞🏻🤞🏻

OP posts:
CaribbeanCupcake · 18/07/2023 22:15

Hey @Littlemissc93 so glad all was well on your scan! I have mine next week, soooo nervous!

Also... I've had the most awful nausea and been sick a few times, the GP has put me on anti sickness tablets coz I literally couldn't function! It's awful! Fully regret moaning about having no symptoms now! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣
