It's very early days but I suspect there are some new BFP's meaning we'd be due in February. I'm 4 weeks today so super early. Anyone with me? Has anyone got any early pregnancy symptoms?

@Meeting I have zero self control, and this is my forth baby so you'd think I'd know better 😂

Will leave it now until my scan next week and just hope everything is progressing well.

Mangotango39 · 25/06/2023 03:47

@DmcinT I think I'll we 7 + 1 on Thursday when I have the scan. Just glad the weeks here! Also so impatient!!!
This one is through my drs and 12 week scan BUT I am already thinking if all is ok I'll pay for a private 9.5 weeks in the middle 😂

I think ignore those tests - I have heard such bad things here .

Does anyone have the harmony test where they live? Our Dr has asked us to start thinking about it as you need to have it around 10 weeks. It's apparently very accurate and tests for lots of chromosome issues (can also tell the sex!)
it's quite expensive though around equivalent to £250 with some additional add one tests for more.
Not sure whether to do it or not.

The harmony test is available on the nhs right? Only because I remember signing a consent for it at the booking in meeting

@SmartiesParty the Harmony is only available on the NHS if you come back very high risk from their combined screening at 12 weeks. By the time you'll realistically get it and then the results, it's about 14 weeks plus.

@Mangotango39 I got it last time and so relieved I did. Some possible issues were identified in my 30+ weeks growth scans, and because I had the Harmony they ruled most things out. It took the stress out. I came out low risk on the NHS combined test but the consultant said that is far far less accurate than the Harmony, and because we had low risk everything in Harmony, he was completely confident to say it wasn't the trisonomies. In any event it turned out to be all fine, but I was so stressed at the time. Will be getting it if I make it to 11 weeks this time definitely

SmartiesParty · 25/06/2023 07:40

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 is that right as the way is was presented to me is that it's either opt in or opt out and not conditional.
The NHS website also doesn't say anything about 'only if you're high risk'?
Or maybe it's area dependent ?

@SmartiesParty sorry I am not in the Uk should have said 😀I am still trying to work out what I have to pay for and what I don't . I think I have to pay some of my 20 week scan!

I don't remember any of my friends in the uk saying that had it in their recent pregnancies .

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 thanks for sharing . I am defo leaning towards having it that's for sure. Need to sit down with DP and consider if we want the extra options to!

AllAboardTootToot · 25/06/2023 09:15

I’ve just tested positive on the 23rd, digital is saying 1-2 weeks.

I have no idea where to start or what I need to do! Is it call to doctors tomor to start the process off?

im shock still but so happy, didn’t think it would happen for us after 15 years ❤️

GeriatricMumma · 25/06/2023 09:31

@AllAboardTootToot congratulations!

Usually it's a self referral to the midwife online now (if you are in the UK)

Google maternity services in your area.

I will be having the harmony tests at 10 weeks (all being well at that time) as I'm old (42) and have a few high risk factors in my pregnancy already, so one less worry is better for me. I never felt the need to get them before with my other 3 children, but this time I am a good deal older.

I am just symptomless at the moment apart from weird dreams and a bit emotional today.

I also have a very painful gland in my armpit today too

Thank you! You too!

I just feel tired and having hot flushes, tiredness could be some jet lag though.

I will do that now, all do alien to me!

I have been reading about the harmony test and so think we will do the same as I will be 39 when baby is born.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 25/06/2023 10:08

@SmartiesParty I think what you've screenshotted is the combined screening test? You can opt into or out of this. This uses things like your age, weight, hcg level, and Papp a level, as well as the nuchal translucency from your 12 week scan. If this comes back high risk, then you get offered a harmony and/or invasive testing. That was what it was for my son a year and a half ago anyway in London. I'm in a different area now and they just offer the combined screening here also

SmartiesParty · 25/06/2023 10:11

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 oh that's useful to know. I think I'll wait until the 12 week scan and see what they say. I also have a consultant so I presume they'll also say something if they think there's a risk

GoneAway227 · 25/06/2023 11:11

Currently at a&e due to left sided pain. Started low down about a week ago, but has now radiated up to my shoulders.
☹️

Clomid1 · 25/06/2023 11:39

@GoneAway227 Oh dear hun. Truly sorry to hear that! I know what you’re fearing but fingers crossed its not that and you and baby are fine

Thank you.
The nurse that triaged me has given me a bit of hope. She said shoulder tip pain is agony - and I'm just uncomfortable.
Just waiting for blood results to come back and to see a gynae consultant.

Hi everyone!

I'm super early, only 5 weeks tomorrow. Two days before AF was due I started to get brown discharge, which I thought was the start of AF. Five days later I got my BFP but still having the brown discharge and brown on the toilet paper almost every time I wipe (never in my knickers) up until last night when I got a fair bit of red blood on the toilet paper but then none since and back to brown.

I wore a pad to bed last night after seeing the red but nothing overnight. No cramping either. I'm already in touch with EPU from when I got my BFP so I could mention the brown and understandably there is nothing they can do, but they have booked me in for an early scan a week on Thursday - which feels so far away!!

Should I call my midwife tomorrow about the red blood last night? Or just wait and see?

I had a still birth last year so this feels nothing in comparison but I would most like to know what's going on - as I know we all would! lots of love to you all x

Mangotango39 · 25/06/2023 12:50

@GoneAway227 hoping all is ok for you 🙏

Hello all!
With so many new people on the thread I thought we could fill in this to let everyone know where we are at 🤗

~Age:
~Baby number:
~Estimated weeks:
~Current symptoms:
~Current feelings:

For me....🙋

~Age: 29
~Baby number: #1 (2 previous losses)
~Estimated weeks: 6 + 5
~Current symptoms: Cramping on and off. Fatigue. Extreme body aches.
~Current feelings: Worried like most. scan on Thursday and just want the day here already. I've had very light pink spotting on some days but that seems to have stopped. Now it's the cramps stressing me out. It's frustrating not knowing the level of 'normal'

Kiwiburgh · 26/06/2023 04:51

~Age: 32
~Baby number:2
~Estimated weeks:6 weeks
~Current symptoms: tiredness
~Current feelings: I have another blood test tomorrow. Lack of symptoms is freaking me out, though i understand all pregnancies can differ. With DS I was vomiting multiple times a day at 4 weeks!
Looking forward to second trimester where I can chill a bit.
