Just curious!

I had a feeling DS was a boy, he was! And now pregnant early with DC2 and I can’t stop saying she, looking at girls clothing, girl names. I think this babies a girl!

so did you get a ‘feeling’ and were you right? :) all for fun

I’m not analysing my symptoms either because I’m quite sure gender/sex of the baby doesn’t have any effect on them (also taken from experience of my best friend being convinced she was having another boy because her symptoms were the same as first time… she had a girl)

I did this with all 3 and got it right each time! Can't explain how or why but I just got a feeling from the moment I found out I was pregnant. 3 completely different pregnancies too so couldn't go off the symptoms, just a gut feeling.

jacquec · 23/05/2023 21:09

I told my friend before I got pregnant that I was having a girl. I can remember her saying "I don't think you get to choose" and I replied that it wasn't a choice, it was something I just knew. I'd also never in my life envisioned myself with a boy. When discussing names very early on, I offered one half hearted suggestion for a boy because I felt like I had to, but never got hung up on whether it would matter because I knew she was a girl.

So yes, I'd always known.

PickledScrump · 23/05/2023 21:10

I thought my first was a boy, it was a girl. Second was a totally different pregnancy and I was convinced it was a boy. Another girl. Now pregnant again and I’m pretty sure it’s a girl again. Nub theory is pretty accurate though and I’ve looked at it this time and definitely looks girly

RosaSkye · 23/05/2023 21:11

I knew all three of mine were girls deep down. Chose firm girls names and had a vague sort of list for boys because I knew I’d never use them. I actually remember talking to my first and telling her I knew she was a girl! So yes, I believe I did know somehow

QueenOfWeeds · 23/05/2023 21:12

Everyone we met (from receptionists in places I’d never set foot before, to family and work colleagues) told me it would be a girl. I was adamant it would be a boy.

I am currently holding my DD 😂.

Dee49 · 23/05/2023 21:15

I was convinced boy and everyone around me thought boy too! Was so shocked in that delivery room when we all were proven wrong 😂

LT2 · 23/05/2023 21:19

Yes, we did guess it, in fact many other people all guessed the same as us - girl. Our first child, so we had absolutely no preference (my ideal has always been one of each, not just boys or just girls). We were very surprised and over the moon to be told it was a boy at our 20 week scan. It was so exciting as it just wasn't what we'd expected or imagined🥰 we were in happy shock😁

BarelyLiterate · 23/05/2023 21:19

Isn’t it just a 50/50 coin toss, so whatever you guess you’re just as likely to be right as wrong? And if you have two, the probability of guessing both correctly is 25%, and so on?

shelbabab · 23/05/2023 21:20

Both times I did and both times I was wrong 😂

paininthesideback · 23/05/2023 21:20

I had a very strong feeling that both mine were boys, and they were. I can't explain it. I just knew.

Kelvie103 · 23/05/2023 21:25

I'm due next month with my first baby, a boy. It's so strange, even before I got pregnant every time I pictured us having a child it was always a little boy running around. We had a boy's name chosen even before we concieved. I had a private scan at 10 weeks and looked at it and just knew for sure it was a boy, even though at that stage there was obviously nothing boy visible yet. I even did the nub theory thing and it came back 70% girl and I kept thinking no its not I was sure he'd be a boy and yep, every later scan definitely a boy!

DramaAlpaca · 23/05/2023 21:27

I guessed wrong all three times Confused

Moonlightsonatas · 23/05/2023 21:27

I was convinced I was having a boy, picked boy names, it was a girl. I was shocked!

Ss32 · 23/05/2023 21:28

I thought my first was a girl and was right. I’m expecting again now and was adamant it was a boy, it’s another girl 😂

HowBeOn · 23/05/2023 21:30

I felt really sure we were having a boy. We had a list of boys names we loved and only one ‘just in case’ girls name. In my daydreams he was a mini DH with dark hair, I would have put money on it!

Anyway she is 2 now and definitely a girl (and blonde and looks like me 😂). So I couldn’t have been more wrong! Wouldn’t change her for the world though!!

Hummusanddipdip · 23/05/2023 21:33

I was adamant throughout my pregnancy that ds was a boy, and he is. This time I've not had any feelings either way yet, although dh is pretty convinced it's a girl.

nettytree · 23/05/2023 21:35

Convinced my 1st was a girl. At scan told baby was a boy. I asked them to check again.

ell32 · 23/05/2023 21:35

We have loads of girls in both sides of our family and very few boys.

So first time round I didn't really have a strong feeling either way so just assumed it would be a girl and she was.

Second time round I just had this strong feeling it was a boy from the start then after our 12 week scan I said to my husband I think you've got your boy just looking at the picture. However I couldn't believe it as we have so many girls. But he was a boy and I'm so grateful to have one of each 😀

Hugasauras · 23/05/2023 21:37

I was sure girl both times. Couldn't ever imagine myself having a boy. I was right!

Bramblecrumble22 · 23/05/2023 21:37

Yes, right both times. Girl then boy.

NoodieRoodie · 23/05/2023 21:37

I knew with all 3 of mine! First pregnancy I'd always assumed I'd have a girl (only had a sister and girl heavy family) then about 10 weeks I knew that it was a boy. I didn't tell anyone (apart from DM and DH) because I thought it sounded too woo but we chose a boys name and I was right. DD it was a totally different pregnancy but I knew from early on it was a girl, this time I casually told people I thought it might be a girl. DS2 totally different pregnancy again but I told everyone confidentially that it was a boy throughout. I never found out the sex at a scan but I was never surprised at birth, just smug that I was right 🤣

user0243 · 23/05/2023 21:40

I have 2 of each and knew what every one was but I never ever get it right with other people! :)

Joeylove88 · 23/05/2023 21:42

I had this deep down feeling it was a girl. I always had my girl name picked out for years and could never quite decide on a boys name. I also had visions of a little girl with blonde hair being held by my dad (he passed away when I was 10) and I just felt really emotional like that was his way of showing me my baby. Years before being pregnant I'd always thought I'd have a boy but I just had this sense of feeling like having a baby girl was so right. And she's here and she's perfect I love her so much 💗

Olivia199 · 23/05/2023 21:45

Up until my 12 week scan I thought it was a boy.. not because I had a "feeling" as such, but because I had IVF and the rate the embryo grew etc gave it a higher chance of being a boy. But it never quite felt right. Assumed it was just because I couldn't believe I was pregnant.

The second I saw that 12 week scan, I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was a little girl. She arrived safe and healthy to absolutely no surprise from me!

AliasGrape · 23/05/2023 21:49

Strongly had a feeling that I was having a girl in my first trimester and into my second, and doing ‘nub theory’ on the 12 week scan pic suggested girl too according to my friend who knew about it (I didn’t at that point).

Then swung the other way towards the end, by the time I was in labour I was pretty convinced it was a boy - I think maybe I was over correcting because I’m always wrong about this when it’s someone else’s pregnancy (like every single time anyone i know was pregnant) so I decided my first instinct must have been wrong.

Had a girl.
