Just curious!

I had a feeling DS was a boy, he was! And now pregnant early with DC2 and I can’t stop saying she, looking at girls clothing, girl names. I think this babies a girl!

so did you get a ‘feeling’ and were you right? :) all for fun

I’m not analysing my symptoms either because I’m quite sure gender/sex of the baby doesn’t have any effect on them (also taken from experience of my best friend being convinced she was having another boy because her symptoms were the same as first time… she had a girl)

I had every old wives tale under the sun for a boy. We’d always assumed we would have a boy as they are more prevalent in DHs family.

My poor daughter was called Luke until our 20 week scan.

rickandmorts · 23/05/2023 21:52

I was convinced I was having a boy, to the point I bought all boy clothes. Out popped my daughter and I was so surprised. To the point I asked the midwife if she was sure 🙈 I had to keep checking because I was so convinced she was a boy.

Yes boy and I was right

Fairymother · 23/05/2023 23:45

Yes, I had a feeling with both and was right both times. Not sure if I knew or of i was hoping, both times I got what I wanted.

YouBoggleMyMind · 23/05/2023 23:50

Yes, was very sure I was having a boy with my first, I was right. I felt so different with my second pregnancy that I was sure it was a girl, and I was right!

pennypingletonpenny · 24/05/2023 00:03

Yes, I knew both times.

With my eldest I had a scan at around 17 weeks and I asked the sex. The consultant looked and said he wasn’t sure at first but he thought it might be a boy. I remember thinking really calmly “no you’re wrong, it’s a girl”. And then he corrected himself and said actually it looked like a girl and I remember thinking “yes…I know”.

notangelinajolie · 24/05/2023 00:32

I was right 2 out of 3 times.
Was convinced first was a boy - it was a girl.
Number 2 and 3 - I couldn't have ever imagined having a boy. Both were girls.

QueefQueen80s · 24/05/2023 02:05

Yes and right both times! The human body is amazing, surely it's possible there could be a hormone emitted from the foetus sending a little message to our brain..

Judgyjudgy · 24/05/2023 02:30

Yep, me and my husband both guessed right. Had a feeling very early on 💙

Winterisalmostover · 24/05/2023 03:56

Yes. Right with the first two. The third I found out early. My DS would stick his bum out and I could feel how narrow his hips were, so I knew then that it had to be a boy.

Libmama · 24/05/2023 04:21

Yes I subconsciously knew with all three of mine. Two boys and then a girl.

And yes my symptoms were the same with all three but with the boys I craved savoury foods and with the girl all I wanted was haribo!

peanutbutterontoastplease · 24/05/2023 04:59

I was sure DS was a boy, and he was. Like you, second time around I feel as if it is a girl but am not sure if that’s a slight preference. My symptoms are different but like you I have noticed that is meaningless!

DaftyLass · 24/05/2023 05:26

First time I was certain it would be a girl, and was right.
That's what made it so weird that the second time I had no inclination one way or the other, at all.
Wasa boy second time.

atthebottomofthehill · 24/05/2023 05:46

I was right both times. I have no idea why. When pregnant with DD but before I knew I was pregnant with her (and it was a surprise) I even randomly started a girl baby name thread on mumsnet asking opinions about her now-name. My body just knew.

SavvyWavvy · 24/05/2023 06:24

This is ridiculous. You have a 50% chance of guessing correctly so it’s hardly surprising that you did. And the only people likely to click on this thread are others who guessed correctly.

peanutbutterontoastplease · 24/05/2023 06:54

It’s a fun thread, not meant to be taken as a scientific study. For some reason any mention of the sex does seem to get some MNetters a bit het up!

I do know people who’ve been convinced they are having one sex who then have another. I think it may take a bit of getting used to in my own head if this baby is a boy as I can’t explain why I feel girl but I do. And it probably is a boy now I’ve typed that!

LT2 · 24/05/2023 10:20

@SavvyWavvy actually I was one of the first responders and I said how we guessed wrong...

shakeitoffsis · 24/05/2023 10:37

Yes I just knew I was having 2 girls.
