Good luck @holdingontohope94 hope your scan goes well.
I've just had egg and chips for tea enjoying more plain things really. Thought my nausea had passed but feeling it a bit again today but I'm taking it as a good sign that my little one is still growing away in there.

Kaspery8 · 18/05/2023 22:39

Hi all, posting for the first time here. I've estimated my due date as 20th December and had my first booking appt today. Got my 12 week scan letter for 6th June which is 11+6 so pleased with that.

I've found it really weird so far as I expected the midwife to check I was pregnant and make me do a test. It still all feels a bit surreal and like I could be wrong. We've booked a private scan for the weekend just to convince me that it's real and a bit of reassurance everything is OK.

I've been so ill the last few weeks I ended up having to tell work as it's such a small team and it's the busiest time of the year for my particular role so I've needed their support to stop everything falling apart.

It's been really useful to read through everyone's posts, best baby wishes to all 💖

wannabemum38 · 19/05/2023 00:44

@FlyingHighFlyingLow that's what happened to me tonight for the first time ever. Brushing my teeth and then reching and gagging when I got near the back. So weird! Thought my nights of being sick before bed were over lol

DaisyMay25 · 19/05/2023 08:56

@Kaspery8 I always find it weird they don't check if you're pregnant with a test themselves 😂 could easily be lying, not sure why anyone would though

midnights0 · 19/05/2023 10:45

I’ve had really bad sickness in the morning the last few days, woke up this morning gagged a bit but I wasn’t sick. Had my scan yesterday which showed everything was fine. Wondering if some of it was major anxiety. Could that be possible? Trying not to panic that I’ve not been sick today now 😂

Anxiety, stress and tiredness all massively affect how sick I feel. I'm bad today because I'm anxious about scan and didn't sleep because of it! Same last scan. Day after last scan was one of my best days as slept well and was really chilled.

midnights0 · 19/05/2023 11:15

@FlyingHighFlyingLow must have affected me too, I don’t feel sick at all today where as the last week I was severely unwell 🙄when is your scan?

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 19/05/2023 11:36

Late this afternoon!

midnights0 · 19/05/2023 11:47

@FlyingHighFlyingLow so soon! Please let us know how you get on!!! I swear once I seen that baby on screen yesterday it was like my anxiety just completely faded away.. xx

Justanothercyster · 19/05/2023 11:55

Hope the scans go well today 💕

I've been feeling baby move 😱 like little tickles or flutters when I lie down. So amazing how early it comes second time, I read that second time around you'll notice it as early as 9 weeks which I am. Just magical

Went for a private scan and got to see the heartbeat, they gave me a video too. This was 10 weeks 1 day. I've not got my booking appointment until 14 weeks though, they seem really busy. I'm a bit worried about tests etc being too late!

Really?

I thought I was going crazy the other night when I felt the flutters. Still not sure if it was gas but it was so like my others but they were all 15+ weeks.

SMG1992 · 19/05/2023 13:11

@Justanothercyster that's amazing! Must be so lovely!

@45mummy Congrats on the scan! I think the 12 week scan should be done between 11-14 weeks so you might just about be ok? That's super late though!

Justanothercyster · 19/05/2023 16:22

@45mummy if query that as there's a cut off point for blood tests at 14 weeks, they'll have to re book you if it's that late.

@OnNaturesCourse yeah! I was anterior placenta last time so didn't feel any flutters until 17 weeks but this is exactly the same feeling. Active little thing in there, has been going all day during lessons haha. I'm guessing not anterior this time. Apparently you feel them very early in subsequent pregnancies as you are more conscious and know what they feel like already

Hi everyone, first time posting here! I’m due on the 19th December, I think! I was wondering if anybody wanted to try and settle a debate that I’ve been having with my best friend for weeks now.

so, my LMP was 1st - 4th March, making me 11+3 if we go from that date. However, I was scanned in the EPU at 9 weeks from LMP, and measured exactly 7 weeks. So I’ve been using that date, as I would have ovulated around then and did the deed exactly 7 weeks before the scan date.

my friend, who’s also pregnant, had her first scan today at 15+4 from LMP, and the baby measured exactly that, too.

so my argument is, how does the baby measure at that date when she won’t have ovulated until around 2 weeks later?

And, seeing as I measured at 7 weeks, would I have only actually been pregnant for 5? Or is it 7 weeks from conception?

The more I think about it the more confused I get🤣🤣🤣

RG84 · 19/05/2023 17:29

Hi everyone, hope you are all well. Would love to join this group.
I've just found out I'm pregnant, checked a little late but I have my booking appointment on the 31st May. Currently 9 weeks pregnant.

FfoxRedN · 19/05/2023 17:35

@FirstMondayInMay
They give the age of the fetus including the two weeks you're technically not pregnant. So if you know your ovulation dates, add two weeks to that to give the age they will give on the scan.
If you normally have long cycles this could be why there is a difference in your date range of 7-9 weeks? Xx

SMG1992 · 19/05/2023 17:46

@RG84 congratulations!
wow on only just finding out, was it a shock?
Atleast it means less of a wait until your 1st trimester is over

FirstMondayInMay · 19/05/2023 19:10

@FfoxRedN i don’t 100% know my ovulation dates as I wasn’t trying😅but my cycle is usually between 28-31 days so I’m presuming I would have ovulated around day 17 xx

The cut off for screening bloods is 14 weeks? Or am I reading this incorrectly?

The combined screening can only be done before 14 weeks. After that you'd be given quad test instead.

midnights0 · 19/05/2023 20:19

@FlyingHighFlyingLow how was your scan?

Justanothercyster · 19/05/2023 20:22

@Soundbathfan yeah apparently, I didn't know there was a cut off tbh until a gp friend said 🤷🏼‍♀️

Good thank you :) got all the measurements so just a long wait for results now!

17caterpillars1mouse · 19/05/2023 20:36

12+1 today and woke up and feel I am suddenly definitely showing. 4th pregnancy so I guess it's to be expected. Nausea and sickness is still there, but starting to lessen off a bit fingers crossed.

I think I've done too much today though (I run a baby and toddler playgroup) as I now ache across my pelvis and have a sharp stabbing pain in my hip. I had awful SPD in my last pregnancy (4 years ago) and the midwife said I am likely to get it again as I've had it before, so praying this isn't the start of it. It started at 20 weeks with my last pregnancy and I could barely walk when they induced me at 38 weeks.
