@OnNaturesCourse thats interesting, how did you know where they implanted did you ask at your scans? X

Mummy1502 · 27/04/2023 09:09

@OnNaturesCourse i don’t mind which gender as have both anyway as long as all healthy x

OnNaturesCourse · 27/04/2023 09:20

I had early scans with both because of right sided pain. Both were very much tucked off to the right and I had a cyst on my right ovary with both too which apparently shows where the egg popped out of.

I had a small cyst on my right ovary again with this one too.

Mummy1502 · 27/04/2023 09:26

@OnNaturesCourse have you got boy and girl? X

OnNaturesCourse · 27/04/2023 09:32

Yes, this next one is the tie breaker and final one 😂

Mummy1502 · 27/04/2023 09:36

OnNaturesCourse · 27/04/2023 09:58

And.... Its just the one wee baby who has sent my pregnancy hormones crazy. I'm actually measuring behind my dates but they aren't concerned. Tiniest little heartbeat seen too.

Getting ahead of myself here, but is anyone planning to get the NIPT test at 10 weeks? (Privately). I think I will but would im interested if anyone does / doesn’t recommend it?

Buttons86 · 27/04/2023 14:50

@Mushroo I’ve just been looking at this today. I think I will get my 12 week scan done and see what that says and then book in for private NIPT. We are on the older side so think I’d like to have the NIPT done.

Im 9 weeks today and have the 12 week scan in just over 2 weeks time.

This is our first so I’m trying to figure out what all is on offer/recommended as well.

DaisyMay25 · 27/04/2023 15:03

@Mushroo I'll be getting the NT at my 12 week scan, my risks with my son came back low so I won't opt for nipt unless any come back high this time, which would only be the case I think if the NT measurement came back high

Mushroo · 27/04/2023 15:36

@Buttons86 @DaisyMay25 the amount of info is definitely a bit overwhelming. I almost need a timeline of what needs to happen and when.

Im leaning towards getting it done as well, I’m only 31 and no real risk factors but I think I’d rather know sooner than later. I might ask my midwife at the booking in appointment as well and see what she thinks.

I’m always a bit wary of private operators that they are just looking to make money, but in this case seems reasonable.

wannabemum38 · 27/04/2023 15:42

@Mushroo I thought as a geriatric mum well over the age of 35 I'm.offered it as part of the usual testing but I understand the NHS test isn't as sensitive as private ones. My best friend had hers done and chances of down syndrome was quite high for her age she was 32 at the time I think. As her partner already had a child with downs syndrome she had a private test done and turns out it wasn't anywhere near as high as the NHS test.
I think I will wait and see what it comes back as and decide from there.
@Buttons86 we are older too my DP is 39 and I'm 42 so I know my risks are greater with these things

Charlielechat · 27/04/2023 15:43

I had an unrelated hospital appointment and the consultant offered to do a transvaginal scan to check everything was in the right place. She could see the gestational sac in the correct place but nothing else right now, although she said she isn't concerned as it's super early as I'm only 5 weeks and she would only be worried if I was at 6 weeks.
She booked me in for a 7 week scan at the EPU so will have to wait and wonder for the next two weeks! Ive already done so much googling and I'm sure it's fine, but it's definitely ramped up my anxiety. I wish clearblue did tests beyond 3+ 🙃
Has anyone else ever had a scan at 5 weeks?
