@ExcitedandNervousC1 yes - exactly the same! I’m 5lbs down but look bigger than ever, by the end of the day it’s sooo bad, could defo pass for 6 months pregnant! Looking forward to swapping the bloat for a bump. I never suffer with bloating usually!

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 28/04/2023 21:38

@ExcitedandNervousC1 congratulations. How exciting!

Yes I am almost 10 weeks and the same size I was at about 15/16 weeks last time. Have a family members funeral next weds and I honestly have no idea how I will hide it! I've only put on 2lbs. Also suffering a bit with constipation so done think that is helping x

Mrsrobinsonx · 28/04/2023 22:01

I’m 11 weeks tomorrow and I feel bloated - definite little bulge but don’t feel big at all! Some days I wake up and think when will something be obvious 🤣 3rd baby so I thought I may show by about 12 weeks! Maybe not 👶🏼
I’m still so anxious about something being wrong, its strange as you just never know at this stage what’s going on in there.

Thack · 29/04/2023 01:59

I thought someone in work was looking at my belly today. I've been wearing baggy cardigans to hide it but I do look like I've gained weight.
I feel I look wider, only the evening bloat has a round shape.
I'm very petite and my weight doesn't fluctuate much so I'm sure colleague will be suspicious.

Just hit 12weeks, first scan on Thurs. I think I'll have to fess up soon after.

Travellingislife · 29/04/2023 06:09

@ExcitedandNervousC1 @Mldn @Tryingtoconceivenumber2 ahhh the bloating is real! At the end of the day my belly looks huge! I’m usually lean but I’ve definitely put on some fat too as I mostly crave food I normally don’t eat. I think I’ve had one pizza a week for example and bread and cheese every day, for the last 9-10 weeks, normally I wouldn’t eat that.. I’m going to force myself back to healthy eating now though as I don’t want to put on more weight than I need to.

Skyla01 · 29/04/2023 07:56

I've been getting some bloating too- and wearing less fitted clothes / cardigans for that reason!

My spotting is still light but now bright red, so I'll contact my maternity hospital. Anyone know if epu is open at the weekend? Strangely I'm not too worried, I guess because I know there's not much you can do either way... Would just be good to know what's going on in there.

Runnergirl1 · 29/04/2023 08:21

@vix_85 so sorry to hear your news. Take care of yourself and best of luck in the future xx

LeeanneD11 · 29/04/2023 08:55

Hello everyone sorry to jump on , I'm currently 9w+2d I'm having trouble sleeping on my side , am I ok to sleep on my back? Or that a risk? Which ever way I sleep I struggle I've tried everything possible . Any tips would be great full xx

MooseWL · 29/04/2023 09:19

@Skyla01 the EPU should be open at the weekends I believe. Fingers crossed for you.
@LeeanneD11 the advice to sleep on your side isn't until 28 weeks when you're much bigger! It's because the baby can squash blood vessels when you're on your back and reduce blood flow. It won't matter when they're this tiny. Pregnancy pillows can help you stay on your side later in pregnancy!

Okay , can I sleep on my back? I should know this lol as 3rd pregnancy but it's been a while lol . I do have a cyst as well so that makes it more of struggle too x

Skyla01 · 29/04/2023 11:54

@MooseWL thanks. I spoke to a nice midwife on the phone. She said she wasn't overly concerned but has booked me in for a scan tomorrow afternoon. Bleeding is still light but there every time I go to the loo so glad I will be getting assessed tomorrow. Fingers crossed 🤞

I had red spotting, couldn't find a cause on the scan, likely cervical ectropion. Hope your scan goes well!

Skyla01 · 29/04/2023 20:35

@FlyingHighFlyingLow hoping I have something like that too. I'll find out tomorrow.

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 29/04/2023 20:42

I had cervical ectophy in my first pregnancy. Bled so much bright red blood at 20 weeks it was so worrying but it was coming from my cervix rather than inside and is harmless to baby. Pregnancy hormones can cause it. At my last smear I still had it so have prepared myself for it to happen again this time.

Not sure why but feeling really anxious about it all tonight. 9 + 6 today. Have NIPT with scan this Friday but it feels like so long away. On my last pregnancy I had been physically sick a few times by this point but I haven't this time although I do feel sick I'm worried my symptoms aren't strong enough x

Skyla01 · 29/04/2023 21:25

@Tryingtoconceivenumber2 my pregnancy symptoms have been much less intense this time too. However I know that isn't uncommon either. Kind of wishing away the first trimester and all of its worry!

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 29/04/2023 21:29

@Skyla01 ah I know will feel so much better in 2 to 3 weeks. Maybe we are having a different sex this time? I think I had forgotten how worrying it was x

Skyla01 · 29/04/2023 21:57

@Tryingtoconceivenumber2 I have a girl so maybe this is a boy? They say you are more sick with girls. I was so anxious last time round before my scan- even though I had extremely strong symptoms and no bleeding. So I think you can feel nervous so matter what! Won't change the outcome so I'm trying not to let anxiety get too bad. Running about after a toddler helps a lot to distract me. Also I feel so lucky to have her, that also helps me keep things in perspective.

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 29/04/2023 22:10

@Skyla01 same I also have a girl already as well. A friend had a girl then a boy and was a lot less sick with him. I don't mind either way as long as baby is ok. Yes I know what you mean they keep us busy x

Thack · 29/04/2023 22:37

@Tryingtoconceivenumber2 the nurse mentioned cervical ectophy at my last smear too, I wonder if it's more common than we realise?

Other than bloat and tiredness I am symptom free. I remember at my first scan on DC1 my first thought was "wow, so there is something in there" 😅

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 29/04/2023 22:52

@Thack when I had it they said around 10% of Pregnant women but I had never heard of it before then.

It's so random how people's symptoms vary x

Slinks8113 · 30/04/2023 08:48

Hi ladies, can I join you? I’ve been reading along in the background for a week or so. I’ve suffered a missed miscarriage 3 years ago and struggled to fall pregnant since but just as we were due to start the ivf process, we got a surprise positive test.
Im currently filled with anxiety that we’ll have the same outcome with this pregnancy though - two private scans have only short term reassured me and then the anxiety comes back again. I’m due my 12 week scan next Tuesday but according to my previous scans I’ll only be 11 weeks then as been measuring about 5 days behind.
i have had some symptoms - sore boobs, headaches, tiredness and some nausea but no sickness, they don’t feel very strong and seem to dip in and out which doesn’t help the anxiety.
anyone got any tips to manage the negativity and anxiety I currently feel?

AngeloMysterioso · 30/04/2023 09:41

Morning all! Have had a bit of a worry this morning, got some brown discharge happening. Called the EPU and they couldn’t have been less concerned though, just said to call back if I start bleeding fresh blood. I know it’s probably nothing but I’m in that last stretch before my 12 week scan and it’s so hard not to assume the worst!

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 30/04/2023 12:42

@AngeloMysterioso hope your ok. Fingers crossed for you that it's something or nothing x

spanglesj · 30/04/2023 16:03

@AngeloMysterioso hey, how is it going now? I got the same the day before my 12 wks scan on Friday . Just like you the EPU wherever concerned (or reassuring tbh, just neutral) my 12 wk scan was fine . Mine has stopped now. I hope yours has too? When is your scan x

@Slinks8113 if it helps I was a mess due to previous losses before my 12 wk scan. Since then I’ve definitely felt a weight lifted a bit. I think keep reminding yourself that the scan will soon come around, and try all the distractions in the mean time, (MAFS has been my saviour!) accept you’ll feel anxious also maybe? I totally empathise as was feeling like this very recently!! It’s true that some ppl don’t feel too sick (2 ppl I know currently pregnant haven’t at all) and tiredness is a good sign. Hope your scan on Tues brings you some reassurance x

spanglesj · 30/04/2023 16:04

@AngeloMysterioso meant the brown stuff has stopped for me now btw, not sure how clear that was 🙄
