@ttcttc 7+6. Exhausted, boobs are massive, bloated since day 1. Nausea. Needed a wee a lot. That's eased. What about you?

Shattered all the time. Nausea but no sickness. Constantly hungry. Boobs are tender at times. Bad heads. Little bit of heartburn.

When did you start being sick

@ttcttc early! About 5.5 weeks. I was sick that early with my first too, and all the way until 20 weeks 🤢🤢

ttcttc · 08/03/2023 15:03

@Mamabear345 bless you. I've not started being sick yet but I absolutely hate being sick so I'm anxiously waiting

cruciverbalista · 08/03/2023 15:14

@Mamabear345 I don't have a scale at home but in between my last doctors appointment in October and my first booking appt 2 weeks ago, I'd lost 4kg. My mom said both her pregnancies were weight loss programs!

LR94 · 08/03/2023 15:24

I’ve been struck down with a fever, I don’t think its flu but i’m having a real shitty time, can’t sleep or breathe properly, it seems to be getting worse also.
I’ve seen the gp and just been told to take paracetamol which doesn’t really do anything.
My symptoms have also disappeared, i no longer feel sick and my boobs don’t hurt anymore so now I’m extremely worried that maybe its linked.
I’m currently 7 weeks, did anyone else experience this in a previous pregnancy?
thanks xx

Summer022 · 08/03/2023 15:35

Hi all, currently 7+1 and was really sick this morning when trying to take my pregnancy vitamin. I cannot keep it down 🤢 It is making me feel so guilty but the nausea is really bad. I have managed to keep myself occupied today to try and avoid thinking about it, but the sickness is definitely ramping up. Any good tips to try and help with nausea? Do ginger biscuits actually help? Any advice welcome 🤣

DmcinT · 08/03/2023 15:38

I’m 7+4 today I think, nausea only started yesterday but I figured if I eat something quick enough it goes away. Don’t know how I’ll keep up the eating though 😂 I’ll be huge.
anyone else feeling like week 12 is so long to wait for first appointment/scan, I’m so impatient

PrimarilyParented · 08/03/2023 17:07

Congratulations on all the lovely scans, especially @Needtobuildabridge after your scare. @Happyhappy39soon40 i really hope that your next scan shows a heartbeat and that all is well, it sounds like a very scary time and I’ve been there in my last pregnancy but when I went back two weeks later there was a heartbeat and I have a healthy son now so I really hope in your case the same is true.

for all of your really suffering with nausea/sickness I feel so sorry. I’ve been quite queasy today but was thinking I’m so lucky compared to some and I’m only able to hide my pregnancy because I’m not committing. I am dreading feeling sick tomorrow as I have a whole day of teaching plus parents evening. I think it’s partly psychological as I’m so stressed about getting through it that I think it’s making me feel sick.

PrimarilyParented · 08/03/2023 17:08

P.s. meant to say I have my 12 week scan booked already even though I’ve not been to my booking appointment, they booked them both in at the same time. Not sure if anyone else’s trust does that, but I was pleased and I was easily able to move it to a date/time me and my partner could both make and get childcare.

Alexandra07 · 08/03/2023 17:17

I am thirsty all the time but I am sick of drinking water. I don't like squash or tea. Any other ideas? What can I drink that is not too sugary? I ended up diluting orange juice with Indian tonic water!

@Mamabear345 I have read that you can lose weight during the first trimester, not sure when you should start worrying, worth checking with midwife.

@LR94 sorry, I haven't been through this. I hope your little bean is fine.

Chanteuse · 08/03/2023 17:34

Hi everyone! Lovely to see some gorgeous scans 💕 I’ve had a busy few days!

Had my booking appt yesterday - also another one with “extra padding” 🫣 have been prescribed 5mg folic acid and aspirin too. I’ll also have to have extra scans at 30, 34, 36 and 38 weeks I think it was? Anyway, the midwife was kind about it as she said I was fit and healthy in every other way (bp, urine sample etc) so trying to not let it play on my mind!

I went to the chemist to pick up my prescription and asked for a vitamin d supplement as it was combined with my folic acid but they said the one they had was too strong 🤷🏻‍♀️ anyone know the recommended vit d for pregnancy?

JoanneV · 08/03/2023 17:49

@Chanteuse I think it might be 10mcg, I take the 25mcg one from tesco.

Needtobuildabridge · 08/03/2023 18:12

@Alexandra07 I'm the same with drinking, finding liquids generally very unappealing. I've had some success with Capri Sun and Oasis drinks - even if I do feel like a child with my little straw 😂

@PrimarilyParented Thank you. It was just sp reassuring 🥰

Jealousofchiliheeler · 08/03/2023 18:39

@LR94 how are you doing now? If you are struggling to breathe I would suggest you need to speak to either GP tomorrow or 111 tonight?

Jealousofchiliheeler · 08/03/2023 18:42

@Alexandra07 personally I've been having sugar free 7Up (with top left off the bottle for a while so it goes slightly flat) and also coke zero, the caffeine free version

Chanteuse · 08/03/2023 19:01

Thank you @JoanneV ! Can’t seem to find any so I’m going to order some off Amazon 🥰

LR94 · 08/03/2023 20:05

@Jealousofchiliheeler I spoke to the GP and she said to take paracetamol, I seem to have got abit worse and my temperature was 38.1, online it says speak to your gp, midwife or call 111 straight away if your temp is over 38. I called the early pregnancy ward and she told me to take paracetamol. I don’t understand why they make you panic online but the healthcare professionals aren’t interested.
i’m so tired but just can’t sleep, my temp is all over the place and now I have swollen nodes in my neck. Totally in the wars at the min!
I heard a heart beat at my scan last week but i’ve booked a scan for in the morning aswell because i’m so paranoid x

PrimarilyParented · 08/03/2023 20:07

@Alexandra07 i drink lime cordial or diluted apple juice. I love apple juice and mineral water as it’s fizzy but not too sugary.

I have also bought decaf tea and drink squash sometimes too (as we have it in for the kids anyway).

It’s on the fancy side (price wise), but Elderflower presse is lovely too.

LWestYorks · 08/03/2023 20:25

Anyone nausea symptoms disappeared? I’m 9 weeks tomorrow and had terrible nausea from 6 weeks to 4 days ago when it’s suddenly stopped? I still feel bloated, sore boobs but I’m really worried now that has gone. I’ve got my first midwife appointment tomorrow and had an early scan last week at 8 weeks which everything looked fine. I just can’t stop worrying about the disappearing symptoms :-(

SoBoredOfWaiting · 08/03/2023 20:36

@Alexandra07 I love cordials at the moment, especially a weak lemon and lime, so refreshing.
Completely gone off diet coke or anything fizzy, and only having one coffee a day before feeling nauseous too.

Anyone here due around 8th oct? 9wks 4 days today, starting to get very anxious as I won't be having a scan til 27th, just feels such a long time to wait!

Also, a bump is definitely there already and I had to get my maternity stuff out! Has anyone here experienced this/ is experiencing this on their second pregnancy?

Hope everyone is ok this evening x

New2thisss · 08/03/2023 20:51

@LWestYorks My symptoms randomly went away at the weekend and it had me super paranoid. Try not to worry too much - easier said then done, I know! The nausea and headaches came back today which has alleviated the anxiety. I have spoken to my midwife team and they have said it’s completely normal for symptoms to fluctuate.

@SoBoredOfWaiting 8th October due date club! 🥰 my scan isn’t until the 30th, such a long wait isn’t it. My bloated belly has definitely hardened up the past week, debating whether it’s the start of bump

Chanteuse · 08/03/2023 21:03

@SoBoredOfWaiting I’m due 10th! Still haven’t had my scan date yet though as only had booking appt yesterday

Baby1023 · 08/03/2023 21:43

@LWestYorks I’m 9 and a half and just sickness just starting to ease

@SoBoredOfWaiting 8th of Oct here, I’m bloated but the bottom of my stomach - more near the pubic area really is starting to harden up so I think bump is on its way.

VictoriaBlossom · 08/03/2023 21:51

So I have a incy wincy bean and a heartbeat. Very strong heartbeat, measuring 7w1 which is about right.
Still no sickness.... but that's ok for now.
The relief of seeing the heartbeat straight away, is a feeling I don't think I've ever felt before

Congratulations to everyone else with scans,
I need to catch up on the days thread as been working "up north" (Lincolnshire is north for me) today so not had chance to read todays

Due October 2023 - thread 3
Saturnsmoon · 08/03/2023 21:56

Congratulations on your lovely scan @VictoriaBlossom

@SoBoredOfWaiting @Baby1023 @New2thisss - I’m also due on the 8th! My next scan is the 20th, when I’ll be more like 11w, having nipt test done at the same time and then hopefully another scan at 13 weeks (I’m abroad so it works a bit differently here).
